Well it turned into a partial Edward vs Leo when I mentioned a VK combo with Edward and the Lug is for Leo only so that is how it occured. I dislike most personal weapons excluding Ragnell, and Amiti (Unless you count alondite) because those weapons actually have a place in the endgame as well as the fact they start with unlimited uses which means plenty of room to use or abuse. Thani is OK considering it does help Michiah level up agaisnt armors. Cymbeline must go because Sanaki does not have the STR to back it up and who wants to use multiple energy drops on a mage? Tarvos is semi OK as it does give some much needed defense on the laguz levels. Ettard is ok but it does have less MT than a steel blade. Also to defeat the boss you must kill some enemies to get to the boss. The VK can be used on bosses in the final chapter while you are more likely than not going to be using the DB for marksmen. So all in all the VK>Lug. Bold: Bingo! Hohohoho! I knew that I was onto something! And yet these personal weapons are still better than some stuff that's never useful, like Rexcalibur. Ettard has a grand total of 1 less Mt than a steel blade. On the plus side, it's free and has 50 uses. And your line of thought is so very simple minded. Regarding the rest: BK's one-on-one. I need only shove or kill the spirits surrounding Sephiran. And even if the VK's better than Lughnasadh, being locked to 1 range means becoming an indirect attack magnet, and as Sonic says, that's NO GOOD. Ettard does come free and there are two of them but money is hardly a problem unless you do a lot of forging. The steel blade's price is a meager 1,200g and has 35 uses. 2 ettards = 100 uses 3 steel blades = 3600g = 105 uses MT stacks so for 3600g you get 105 more MT overall. Hit is not much of a problem for most sword users and they have equal weight. So whats so bad about a weapon with 1 more MT that barely costs anything. Considering the amount of money you will have received at part four without deductions or selling is 81k. Considering you get multiple items you don't need and also many weapons I would say arguing the cost is pointless. Now regarding the BK battle. You will use the VK agaisnt Levail and his troops. True that it is relatively easy to bash the BK with a hammer but what about the wishblade. Saying the VK is not going to be used on the BK chapter is far from true. The VK can be a useful weapon for eliminating enemies and getting the Wishblade. So in order to make your point we must give up the Wishblade, a free SS lance with that 1-2 rng we are looking for, 22 MT, good stats overall, and 50 uses. The wishblade is way better than those personal weapons. The VK can help you get this gold and with the DB in the chapter before who is going to use the Lug to help? Your thinking is a bit conservative but since you can't access the shops in the Final Chapters who needs gold? This isn't Blazing Sword in which you get a funds ranking so why not spend the gold. It is kinda pointless for me to argue a weapon that is not on but if the steel blade has some advantages over the Ettard including availability than why should the Ettard, Florete, and sone personal weapons have been on here? Also you stated the VK might be better than the Lug. I think you should turn that might to an is. About being to locked to one range, so you are telling me Ettard, Tarvos, and Caladbolg aren't? They are all personal weapons that are locked to one range and yet you say they should stay on the list? If the VK shouldn't because of its range neither should any of those weapons considering the VK outclasses them in nearly every stat. I'd rather NOT risk getting gibbed against Levail, thank you very much. Especially once his HP falls to the point that Resolve activates. Seriously, 42% chance of dying? And you're recommending the VK against him? Are you insane??? And that's saying nothing of his 39 Defense. If I'm getting the Wishblade, there's no chance in hell that I'll send someone equipped with the VK against him. There are MUCH better options to kill Levail than a sword that's locked to 1 range. Other than the fact that the VK doesn't show up until the end of the game. At least Ettard, Caladbold and Tarvos show up long before every enemy has 1-2 range. (AKA, they're useful before Endgame.) And you're acting as if stats mean everything. If that's so, then why does the Double Bow only have 25 points to the Silencer's 40??? And my logic on personal weapons being more flawed than yours on the VK?? At least I'm not the one trying to brush off the VK's lack of range being a problem in 4-E-3 and beyond. Other factors come in like how it looks(lol), when it comes in, etc. The VK is in my opinion cooler than the Lug because the Trueblade class is amazing while Leo is bleh. You have stated that enemies around the time you get Lug have 1 rng generally, looks like the Lug won't see any enemy phase. I agree the Vk's rng is limiting but there are still enemies that go 1 rng, saying all is an exaggeration. Considering the defensive nature of the DB's part 3 chapters, that can be an advantage. Take a look at this: Take 3-6, with an enemy in front of him, Leo with Lugh + Beastfoe can kill an enemy per turn over the head of the enemy in front of him. And since he can't counter, the enemy in front of him won't die, so Leo won't risk being attacked too many times in one go. So not only do we get a kill per turn, we get a kill per turn that's safe and won't result in a unit's death. Heck, if the enemy unit in front of Leo is untransformed then you don't even need to heal Leo. Considering that most characters get killed in two hits from the laguz, a kill on enemy phase can be risky since it could potentially result in a unit's death. I think Vauge Katti is better because it isn't prf. I just drop Leonardo as soon as I can. On the other hand, I drop Edward as soon as I can. I agree the Vk's rng is limiting but there are still enemies that go 1 rng, saying all is an exaggeration. Except it's not an exaggeration once you hit 4-E-3.
