Snipers are good if you use them properly. They dodge most of the attacks sent their way, and their defense is high enough to where they can afford to take a few hits. They're also very useful in supplying help to your army in dealing with enemies quicker.

I don't agree with the whole "every class is good if you use them right" bs; some classes are statistically better than others, its just that most of the advantages and disadvantages are very minor.

Overall, I think the Sniper class is inferior to others, because they can only attack half of the time (player phase), if they attack anytime else, you're not using them correctly.

Assassins also suffer because of the little chance that their skill activates and their caps.

those are the major ones.

While I tend to agree with that Fox, you gotta remember to mod by the book and not people on the opposite side.

And technically snipers can counter attack... obviously when they're attacked with a 2 range weapon.

Another thing: Most AI controlled units are... idiots (at least in the more recent games). you can manipulate ranged units into attacking your sniper from 2 spaces away.

the FEs I've played (6-9), I've noticed enemy snipers will always go for the units that can't counter attack, unless a unit who can counter is dying. Of course, if a sniper or mage is the only unit in range, the enemy will have no choice but to attack it. But only in rare circumstances will that happen.
