You must have seen too many of those PC commercials. XP wasn't great, but it was better than Vista. I'm sure windows 7 isn't half bad, but I'm not going to pay money just to find out that its a piece of crap. Besides linux distros are free. It would still be slower than XP on the same computer. Or some kind of linux for that matter, but if you're already a nerd installing Linux is the equivalent of making (or rededicating yourself to) a vow of celibacy.
