If i try to edit an paint document it turns out all grainy and i am unable to change the colors more better

It turns grainy after i save it

I have this really great portrait that i might edit later

Here is the image from before

If you zoom in it is all messed up

Anyone knows how to stop it from happening?

Don't save them in .jpg and instead, save in .png

Yes, .jpg uses certain algorithms to compress the file size, at the cost of losing resolution. So, you'll have those sorts of problems unless you save as a .png (like I tend to do) or .gif
