A grizzled old FE4 vet's latest FE4 playthrough

Well, well, I guess I could consider myself an addict to this game. I've probably played this game 50+ times, but w/e.

I use RNG manipulation sometimes, but I really don't have the patience to have Alec or Noish try their hand at trying to kill Emmile or likewise.

Current progress

Prologue: completed in 13 turns, would have been 12 if it weren't for that stupid Alvis.

Chapter 1: 11 turns have elapsed, and Marpha is already conquered. I already did a trial run up to the end of the chapter, and the Dark Mage got pwned on turn 24.

Highlights include:

Ardan and Azel teaming up to kill one archer from Kinobis's army.

Fin utterly dominating multiple enemies with Prayer such that he fried all 29 or 30 uses of the Steel Lance; this isn't first time I've done this with him against the first army, but it is the first time I sent him to take on some of the other armies.

Lex gaining 50 exp from JUST HITTING Gandolf.

Adoption of "hit bosses with other(s) first" tactic so bosses can be killed by Sigurd in one go.

Cuan and Fin will clear the arena. Alec and Noish cleared up to the the sixth enemy. Everyone else is stymied by the Swordfighter or worse.

I haven't decided on pairings, but I'm leaning towards...

Tiltyu|Levin

Fin has the Speed Ring.

Sigurd has the Skill Ring.

You're making me want to restart my logged no-savestate ranked game from Chapter 4 because I didn't abuse Fin's prayer at all :(

Me too even though my last ranked run failed.

Anyway I'd recommend you not use the arena in chapter 2 for the unit you plan on giving the elite ring to, if you haven't already. Though you probably figured this out already anyway

Well inferred. Fin'll probably be that dude again, just like the other 20+ times I gave it to him so he could join Siggy, Lexy, and Cuan as the quartet to tear Zyne a new one, again. :D

Update.

Ch. 1 captured in 25 turns. It would have been 24 turns, but Sigurd did not have enough strength--he had 17--to finish off the Dark Mage, so yeah.

I sent Jamka, Ayra, Sigurd, Cuan, Lex and Ethlin through the forest. In the past, I sent Ethlin with Lex, but that didn't work out this time because I was already ready to seize. So Ethlin trailed with Jamka. Sigurd and Jamka led the charge by weakening them with Javelins and Killer Bow, respectively and the rest mopped them up. Even Deirdre got a kill. Jamka got returned home and raped the arena.

Brief update.

It seems that with a little critical luck from Cuan+Ethlin and squeaking out every little inch of offense against those Anphony armors, I can COMFORTABLY take Anphony in 14, yes, 14 turns. Maybe I should leave one alive so Lachesis's "side interests", I mean protectors, can charge and help me out at dealing with Voltz's army, who aren't inclined to attack my 16+ DEF Sigurd, Cuan, and Lex.

This is my army configuration at turn 10. The Anphony Duke Knight and Lance Knights all attack if I place a unit adjacent to the rightmost Lance Knight. The Duke Knight is out of the picture but near death.

I'll edit this post to put in my further Ch.2 progress.

Turn 12 pic. Sigurd and Lachesis are below them and Sigurd will kill the Sword Armor(33HP) in front of Lex. That's Voltz's movement range. If Fin goes into it, the Free Knights attack first and drop him to 1 HP, which means he gets 100% avoid.

Noish and Alec team up to kill the the bottom-most SwordArmor. Fin kills the bottom right Bow Armor. Lex hits the other Bow Armor. Midir follows up and kills that one. Cuan. Sigurd kills the top-most SwdArmor. Ethlin attacks the other Sword Armor at range. Cuan activates Continue on the Axe Armor and then parks himself in front of Big Mac.

A preliminary run netted me 25 turns.

Turns 24 and 25 involved me killing of Zyne with Cuan and just mopping up, respectively. I messed up with Aideen and had to waste three turns to get the Bargain Ring, which means I finished the Chapter in 28 turns and got Lachesis an arena win against the Herzog.

Are you doing the first canyon fight (the part south of the sleep staff boss) in a random-number-safe way or are you reloading/RN manipulating/just playing risky? I have to go horribly slow turns-wise there if I'm trying not to reload since I can't risk a lot of unlikely hits on the same unit or some similar freak RN problem after I've been working on the map for half an hour. But on the other hand I'm not trying all that hard since I'm spreading XP and the tactics rank is very easy.

I tend to be "safe, but not too safe" or "just enough" in my playstyle, and the Swordfighters have way too much hit for me to be hoping for a lucky dodge unless I want to take 6 hours on it. Now I did a little of it before when Alec could dodge an SwdArmor, but I didn't really plan on it happening. It was just there for the taking.

Anyway, Holyn is in position so that one Bowfighter and one Swordfighter will hit him while he's in Ballista range. In this playthrough, he got slammed down to 16 HP after they all attacked him. His Total HP was 43 and his DEF was 12. I had to get rid of the lead Bowfighter by tossing Jamka as live bait and eating two hits from a trailing Swordfighter(22/42HP). Then, it's Holyn killing the Swordfighters, eating up most of the damage, Deirdre healing him with Live while my Sigurd and Cuan come as reinforcements from the south and Alec and Noish from the West. I returned Sigurd immediately after he took Anphony, so that's why they both were coming.

I'll post pics detailing how I position them so that Holyn is the one who takes all the damage.

I did use a little RNG-manipulation to grab Anphony(Cuan's Continue to kill the last Axe Armor so Fin wouldn't die before killing a bunch of Free Knights) in 13 turns, but taking it in 14 turns should be doable fairly often and taking it in 15 turns should doable virtually all the time.

Brief Update once again.

Last comments about Chapter 2.

Saving Lachesis.

Basically, the order I have always used for a while now is Lex in the lead, Ethlin right behind him, an combo of Alec, Noish, and Fin behind her, and Midir bringing up the rear. I discovered that rather than leaving three enemy units alive with this configuration, I can kill another Axe Knight with Sigurd before re-moving to talk to Lachesis. That leaves two dead and leaves Eliiot harmless as the AI is in "retreat mode" and he will not attack. He will be surrounded by Cuan and two of the Paladins if you put Cuan to the square left of Eve(I think). Also, one Axe Knight should be ripe for the picking for Lachesis for 40+ EXP.

The experiment with the Speed Ring was also a success, as Sigurd was able to double Boldo and Shagall while equipped with the Steel Lance.

I believe that Sigurd should get the Hero Lance so that you can shave yet another turn off of the turncount. The Lance Armor near Agusty that positions itself in front of the Ballista is probably taking away at least one movement space and Shagall is even easier to kill when you can hit him four times.

Preliminary strategies for Ch.3

I find that I'm able to capture Madino in 4 turns and can still utilize my old strategy to kill off most of the Cross Knights by baiting the through the forest. In order to do this turn count, I have modified Sigurd's equipment just a little bit: he buys the Hero Lance and ArmorCutter. Since I will be rushing with Sigurd, it seems that Lachesis will go to the left towards Silvail so Eltshan and her can have one last flirt, I mean, intimate sibling conversation. Aideen to will probably tag along with Sigurd so that she can warp him to Madino. I'm also thinking about leaving Ethlin at Madino so she can do an in-chapter exchange for the return staff to rush to Brigid to the home castle to talk to Aideen. Since the Ichival is "mandatory" no matter how fast I want to go, Ethlin may want it instead and then use the Return Ring to return home.

Turns 1-4.

Sigurd, Lex, and Fin all go out in the maximum of Sylvia's range on the right. Aira goes out her max move so Lex can talk to her.

Sigurd takes out the Axe-wiedling General, and Lex moves full distance into the range of the rest of the Armors. Fin is just one space outside the Axe Armor with the most range. Axe Armors dieon enemy turn.

Lex then kills off an Arch Knight and re-moves as far as he can to the left, while Fin moves out into the range of the furthest Swd Armor. Sigurd charges into the mass of Armors and attacks the Fire Mage with the Javelin. He then equips the Hero Lance. On the enemy turn, he takes out most of the army.

Lex mops up one unit so Fin can have a clear path to Jacoban. Fin hits him with the Slim Lance. Sigurd then slams him with the Hero Lance and seizes.

While that was happening.....

Cuan is positioned to the west near the forests near the road by the end of all this so he takes out most of the Cross Knights.

Most of the rest of the army is positioned so that they are as close to Silvail as they safely can be(outside of Elthshan's range. Lachesis uses Return and the like and I sent some of the army members out with 1 HP so she can use Relive. I forgot to sell Ethlin's Return Ring, so I returned her and did that before Sigurd seized. Aira, Levin, and Beowulf go to the northeast, with Aira and Levin to Silvail and Beowulf to save some villages.

Turn 5

Cuan wipes out most of the Cross Knights and most of the guys are prepared to assist him in taking the castle. Sigurd returns home while Aira and Levin go to Madino, Fin saves the village that gives +3 Strength, Beowulf deals with the Pirate attacking the village with restore, and Dew also going tot that village. Lex settles in around Madino so that he can get the Leg Ring.

Turn 6

There were two Cross Knights left.

Turns 7-9

Shagall is killed and Sigurd seizes on turn 9. Aideen warped Holyn, Ethlin, and Sigurd to Madino.

Rest of chapter

Lachesis gets returned home to play EXP gaining game with Ardan. Sigurd kills the boss by Turn 15.

Aideen and Azel walk most of the way back home. Sylvia was warped by home. The rest of the turns involve killing off the rest of the army chasing Brigid, the army ambushing Tiltyu, Claude, and Fury, and returning Brigid and Ethlin home.

Turn 10.

Tiltyu goes to the right max range. Claude one step short so he doesn't get the extra love points.

Brigid moves 4 spaces so she is just outside the range of the Swordfighters pursuing her.

Fury is in the middle of the sea and moves closer to Claude and Tiltyu. Lex kills Pisarl, who was spared an from an Aira Meteor Sword the previous turn.

Sigurd sells the Return Ring. Ethlin buys both the Return Ring and Return Staff.

Beowulf moves to one space near the Wing Clipper village

Lachesis heals Sylvia.

Aideen Warps Cuan to Madino.

Fin, Levin, and Cuan then positioned to deal with Pirate Army.

Enemy phase

Pirates charge. Brigid kills some more ranged enemies. Tiltyu blows up Pirate.

Turns 11-13

Tiltyu kills Pirates. fury and Claude nearby.

Brigid retrats to village area.

Sigurd goes to Orgahill

Turn 14

Brigid attacks the last Pirate

Tiltyu kills a weakened Pirate

Fury and Claude moves to the right max range.

Lex hits a Pirate. Ethlin returns Fin to home.

Sigurd kills one of Dobarl's guards.

Beo saves the Wing Clipper village and Noish the one to its left.

Aideen Warps Midir for EXP

Aideen and Azel are right in range to talk with Brigid once she's done with the Arena.

Lachesis heals in home castle.

Ardan suicides in the Arena

Dobarl is severely injured by and his two goons die to Siggy's Hero Lance.

Tiltyu kills a trailing Pirate.

Pirates move towards Tiltyu.

Ethlin returns Brigid home. I noticed that the option for Ethlin to return home via the Return skill does not work if she uses her max movement.

Lex kills the remaining Pirate to add another kill to the Hero Axe.

Fury hits a Pirate for exp and damage.

Claude uses Reserve

Lachesis is promoted and clears the arena. (Prayer Sword vs. Bazan, Silver Bow for the rest). She heals.

Brigid clears the arena and is then sortied into Aideen's range.

Sylvia dances to refresh Ethlin and Lachesis.

Ethlin sells all her stuff, which consists of the Light Sword, Live Staff, Return Staff, and Return Ring. She then buys a Silver Sword.

Lachesis sells the Elite Ring and buys the Return Staff. Burns a use returning Brigid.

Fin sells the Slim Lance. and repair the Silver Lance he is holding.

Aira buys the Elite Ring and clears arena.

Levin buys the Elite Ring and clears arena (with some luck against the Dark Mage.

Sigurd kills Dobarl and seizes. (Hero Lance had 88 hit)

Chapter 4

Hello people and welcome again. How about those Habs?

Ch.3 is done, and in 15 turns to boot. Much coordination was involved. In short, have enough guys to bait clear out Pirates, assign Lex or maaaybe Fin as the one to be killing Pisarl, making sure Ethlin has enough funds to buy the Return Ring and Return Staff, and making sure Ethlin does not utilize her full move when using the Return Staff, and its doable.

Anyway. I'm strongly tempted to say "screw it" to Levin|Tiltyu and go for the insta-pairing(you know which one that is) for Holsety and leave Tiltyu a bachlorette. 47 or 48 turns of tying Levin down is not rubbing well with me, and even though I messed up in Ch.1 by not initiating the Azel|Aideen convo b/c I was undecided on committing to an efficiency playthrough, I'll at least be able to see how quickly I can go without the Rescue Wand before burning some turns up to around Turn 33 so I can pair up Azel and Aideen in the chpater.

It also seems like Dew will be getting the Leg Ring since I need him to get to Thove ASAP. W/e, this one may require some experimenting.

Lachesis buys the Hero Lance, Silver Bow, and Return Ring. Sigurd buys the Hero Sword and the Light Sword. Lex buys the Skill and Pursuit Rings. I basically "force" Beowulf to finish the arena and then he buys the Elite Ring and Thief Sword. The Thief Sword gave Fury a boatload of gold last chapter

Sigurd Phase

Sigurd, Lachesis, Lex and Beowulf go out to the max of Sylvia's range. Sylvia then dances and they move their full range.

Midir, Alec, Noish, and Fury move out. Sylvia and Fury talk. w/e

Levin moves out next to Sylvia and heals her with Libro, Brigid and Jamka move out together. Claude moves out his full range and Tiltyu behind him. Ardan moves out four spaces and Aideen returns him. Azel then moves out next to Aideen.

Aira and Holyn move out their full range.

Enemy Phase

Wind Mages and Pegasus Knights move.

Turn 2

Everyone moves full length. Aideen Warps Ardan again.

Turn 3

Sigurd attacks the rightmost Wind Mage in his range past the Mountain Thief with the Hero Sword.

Lachesis attacks the one straight above the Mountain Theif with the Hero Lance(94 hit).

Lex one rounds the bottom leftmost Wind Mage with the Steel Axe(80 hit).

Alec and Fury weaken the Mountain Theif. Beowulf kills it with the Thief Sword.

Levin silences the Wind Mage.

Sylvia Dances for Aira and Noish.

Aideen heals Claude.

Everyone else moves their full range.

Enemy Phase

One Wind Mage attacks Lex. Lex is brought down to 33 HP and counters with the Hand Axe. Three other attack Sigurd with equipped with the Light Sword. Cuvuli heals one of the Wind Mages. Dew is attacked and dodges.

Turn 4.

Beowulf kills the Wind Mage that attacked Lex with the Slim Sword. Sigurd attacks the leftmost Wind Mage. Lex kills the one right next to the space Sigurd vacated. Noish attacks the Mountain Thief. Lachesis attacks the last of the four Wind Mages near Sigurd. Midir kills the Wind Mage that attacked Dew and Fury hits Cuvuli.

Enemy phase.

Wind Mage attacks Fury. Cuvuli retreats a bit and uses Libro.

Turn 5

Lachesis heals Lex, moves out full range, and equips the Hero Sword. Levin moves a couple steps and uses Libro on Sigurd. Dew moves to the lone forest below the bridge. Fury attacks the Wind Mage next to Cuvuli. Beo attacks the Wind Mage closest to the northwest Mountain Thief and kills him. Sigurd and Lex move out their full range and equip their respective Hero Weapons. Midir moves near Dew. Sylvia dances for Levin and Holyn.

Enemy Phase

Three Pegs attack Sigurd, one attacks Lachesis, another attacks Sigurd, and then Deetva attacks Lex. Lex hits once. One Peg attacks Dew. He dodges(he has no weapons)

Turn 6

Holyn kills a Peg. Midir kills Deetva. Lachesis kills the Wind Mage near the first bridge. Sigurd kills the Swordfighter on the forest. Beowulf kills Cuvuli. Lex moves his full range and he is adjacent to Lachesis. Levin kills a Peg. Noish taps a Peg for damage. Aideen Warps Ardan home. Everyone else moves their full range with the exception Fury, who only moves a few spaces.

Enemy Phase

Pegs attack Fury and Fury dodges both. Remaining Swordfighter attacks Lachesis and the Blizzard magic users attack Sigurd and Lachesis. Both take one hit.

Turn 7

Lachesis heals Sigurd and moves onto a forest tile. Sigurd moves forward onto a forest tile diagonal from Lachesis, and Lex moves adjacent to both of them. Fury kills a Peg. Beo attacks the Mountain Thief with the Thief Sword and activates Charge, so he deals 44 damage. Levin moves to the right full range and so does Sylvia. Everyone else does whatever.

Wind Mages and Magefighter attack.

Turn 8

Levin heals Lachesis with Libro. Sigurd attacks the Mage Fighter with the Hero Sword.

Lachesis attacks and kills the bottom Wind Mage.

Beowulf kills the Mountain Thief and then moves south so he can save the village..

Noish(iron lance) and Fury(steel lance) team up to kill the one at the very far North..

Lex, Dew, Levin, and Sylvia move their max range. Sylvia dances for Holyn while doing so.

Aira moves back so she'll be Warped back by Aideen later. Aideen, Azel, Claude, and Tiltyu just move their max range.

Turn 9

Dew unlocks the bridge.

Lachesis kills the Lance Armor to the top left.

Lex kills the Wind Mage adjacent to the just killed Armor.

Aideen warps Beowulf back home after Beo saves the village

Midir kills a Mountain Thief raiding a village.

Sigurd kills Maios with the Hero Sword and takes the castle.

Turn 10

Lachesis returns Lex home.

Sigurd goes into the shop, buys the Knight Ring and sells the Sleep Staff.

Dew sells the Leg Ring

Aideen warps Aira back home.

Midir moves up from the village he saved.

Fury is positioned so that Aideen will move full range when returned back home.

Sylvia crosses the forest blocking her way to the Defense sword.

Lex and Aira move out of the castle and stand next to each other.

Alec and Noish retreat back towards the castle.

Levin, Holyn, Brigid, Jamka, Tiltyu, and Claude stay put.

Lachesis returns Sigurd and then returns home via the Return Ring.

Dew loses in the Arena three times for some RNG manipulation because Midir sucks that way.

Jamka and Brigid stick together and continue on their trek to the mountains

Midir moves just to the right of the bridge.

Holyn procceds to the forest where the Wind Mages were.

Alec saves a village for a little dough. Noish retreats back to home castle.

Sylvia saves the Defender Sword village.

Levin stays put.

Lex, Aira, Beo, Ardan, Tiltyu and Claude do nothing of importance.

Mahanya meets her end and the Pegs get all stupid.

Aideen warps Midir to the home castle. Azel trails her.

Midir clears the Arena after much gold burning and repeats.

Lachesis sells the Hero Lance and Fury buys it.

Fury clears the Arena, promotes, and buys the Silver Sword, Return Staff, and Relive staff.

Lachesis buys the Live Staff, the Hero Lance, and the Sleep Staff

Brigid and Jamka continue their trek into the Mountains

Sylvia moves down from the village. Holyn continues going to the right.

Holyn is now on the bridge.

Sigurd, Lachesis, Beowulf and Fury are deployed. Fury uses Return on Ardan.

Lex and Aira are just standing next to each other.

Alec and Noish continue their return to the castle.

Levin, Tiltyu and Claude just twiddle their thumbs.

Turn 13

Jamka and Brigid continue their trek into the mountains.

Sigurd parks himself right next to the Wind Mage. Lachesis is placed right next to him and Lex right next to her. Beowulf is placed next to Lachesis. Midir takes the remaining spot.

Alec and Noish are near the castle.

Claude, Azel, and Tiltyu move to the right.

Dew saves the village.

Lex, Aira, Holyn and Levin do nothing.

Levin moves so that Aideen will move her full range and uses Libro.

Sylvia moves down from the village and refreshes Aideen.

Enemy Phase

Andre and co. go towards Silesia. Pamela’s squad goes north.

Turn 14

Fury returns Noish home for 70 EXP

Sylvia dances for Holyn and gets HP. Aideen uses Recover on her.

Claude moves onto the bottom forest near the village just to the west of the mountains.

Dew continues going west.

Lachesis heals Sigurd.

Everyone just stays put.

Enemy phase

Silesia is captured.

Pamela attacks Brigid and a Peg attacks Claude.

Turn 15

Sigurd goes full range with Lachesis, Lex and Midir trailing, in that order.

Fury attacks the Wind Mage and then moves down and left her full move.

Aira goes to take care of the Wind Mage.

Brigid attacks Pamela and pops her for lol 124 damage.

Levin uses Libro on Jamka. Aideen heals him. Azel moves diagonal to her and Sylvia dances for both. Azel attacks the Peg who attacks Claude.

Jamka attacks a Peg so that Claude, whom the enemy AI favors, isn’t overwhelmed.

Dew moves west and Holyn is just in the proximity of the rest of them.

Enemy Phase

Couple Pegs attack Claude. Some others attack Brigid. 4 Pegs remain total.

The Wind Mage attacks Lex and misses.

Axefighters pursue Silesian civilians

Turn 16

Sigurd weakens an Axefighter with the Light Sword switches back to the Hero Sword.

Fury kills off the Axe fighter with the Silver Sword, then moves back one space so the Warriors and Wind Mages don’t charge.

Lachesis, Midir and Lex move their full range.

Brigid pops a Peg, and Azel finishes the one across from him.

Aira activates Meteor Sword and finishes the Wind Mage with the Iron Blade.

Dew continues his trek and Sylvia dances for him.

Levin uses Libro.

Holyn and Ardan do nothing.

Beowulf, Alec, and Noish wait for villagers.

Sigurd kills a couple Axe Fighters. Fury gets a couple Continue activations in and thus kills two with the Silver Sword

Lachesis moves out of the Mountains, kills an Axe Fighter with the Hero Lance, and then re-moves eastward.

Fury kills the other Axe Fighter.

Lex and Midir trail them.

Aira goes back to rescue a village.

Azel kills the Pegasus Knight.

Claude is moved so that Aideen, Dew, and Azel form a triangle for Sylvia. Aideen heals him with Recover.

Sylvia dances for Dew, Aideen, and Azel. Aideen heals Dew and Azel moves next to her. Tiltyu moves next to Claude.

Brigid and Jamka move back onto the village.

Enemy phase

The Peg hits Claude and brings him down to 20 hp

The enemies around Silesia gang up on Sigurd and attack him at range. He dodges all attacks.

Turn 18

Sigurd kills a Wind Mage and seizes Silesia.

Lachesis, Fury, Lex, and Midir all move out their full range.

Aideen heals up Tiltyu(who talked to Azel for the HP boost). Azel is positioned so that he and Aideen will be refreshed by Sylvia.

Aideen heals Claude.

Aira goes to save the village.

Beowulf saves a villager.

Everyone else does nothing of much importance.

Enemy phase

The remaining three Warriors and Wind Mage attack Sigurd. Lamia’s army charges.

Turn 19

Sigurd kills the Warrior blocking the way to the road west of Silesia castle with the Hero Sword and moves full range.

Lachesis knocks Lamia out cold with the Sleep Staff and then moves back one square so she’ll only get hit by one Killer Bow Bowfighter.

Aideen Warps Levin to Silesia castle. Levin gets Holsety, repairs the Libro Staff, and moves out full range.

Sylvia dances for Aideen and Aideen then Warps Holyn to Silesia. Holyn then guards the castle.

Fury moves full range just outside of the Bowfighters’ range.

Dew walks closer to the village.

Aira is now within range of the village nearest to Salliane.

Alec saves a villager.

Two Warriors charge Holyn and his Steel Blade. They meet their end. The Wind Mage charges but attacks at range.

Aideen and Azel trail him. Sylvia dances for them.

Dew saves the village. Aideen and Azel are dance, and then Aideen uses Recover on Azel.

Fury talks to Levin.

Daccar attacks with Blizzard.

Turn 22

Lex attacks Daccar. He hits once and reduces Daccar to 48 HP. Sigurd then finishes him up.

Aideen Warps Dew home.

Lachesis heals Sigurd and levels up

Fury returns Lachesis home.

Levin uses Libro on Fury.

Sylvia dances for Azel just because.

Dew is sent out of the castle to save the last village.

Sigurd, Lex, Beowulf, and Lachesis gather around in a diamond formation so Sylvia can dance for them.

Beowulf and Lex take on an Armor, and Sigurd kills a Thunder Mage with the Thief Sword.

Azel then moves out full range due east, followed by the two Social Knights and Midir.

Fury moves out due east.

Claude and Tiltyu move up north towards the Mountain Thief.

Jamka and Brigid go south towards the other Mountain Thief

Aideen warps Ardan home for some EXP.

Aira and Holyn are deployed just because they can.

Two Axe Armors attack Sigurd. A Thunder Mage and the General attack Lex

Turn 2

Levin heals Lex

Azel takes out an Axe Armor. Lachesis rescues Sylvia.

Sigurd kills a Mountain Thief and then moves into position along with Beowulf, Lex, and Lachesis.

Sylvia refreshes them. Lachesis rescues Sylvia again. Sigurd moves onto the square where he can counterattack all the Beige Ritter, receive the Tyrfing from Byron, and avoid getting overwhelmed by the Axe Knights. Lex just charges into the army of Axe Knights. Beowulf trails Lachesis.

Alec kills the trailing Axe Armor with the Hero Lance.

Fury moves due east again.

Tiltyu slams the Mountain Thief for 59 damage, bringing it down to 6 HP.

Jamka and Brigid team up to kill the Mountain Thief to the south.

Lachesis moves her full range and rescues Sylvia. Lex gets a kills and moves into position along with Beowulf. Sigurd kills a Mountain Thief and then gets into position. Sylvia dances for them.

Sigurd moves onto a square where he in both Andre's and Byron's range while remaining outside of Slayder's range.

Lachesis rescues Sylvia so that Sylvia is outside of Slayder's range. Beowulf tags along while Lex moves due east.

Enemy Phase.

Some Axe Knights gang up on Sylvia.

Sigurd wipes out all of the Arch Knights and severly injures Andre.

Lex takes care of the Axe Knights.

Lex kills the leftmost Hero Axe General and the re-moves to the right.

Sigurd kills Andre with the Thief Sword and then moves due east.

Lachesis Rescues Sylvia.

Sylvia dances for the four.

Lex takes out a ballistae.

Sigurd attacks Langbart and hits him twice with the Iron Cutter. He then switches to the Thief Sword.

Lachesis heals Sigurd then re-moes back into her position when Sylvia danced for her. Beowulf stands next to her.

Azel mops up an Axe Knight.

Dew attacks the Mountain Thief and hits for 5000 gold..

Tiltyu tries to attack the Mountain Thief but misses.

Holyn kills it instead and levels up to level 29.

Beowulf moves next to Lachesis. Aira moves towards Lubeck.

Both Generals and Langbart attack Sigurd. He dodges all of their attacks and hits them all with the Thief Sword.

Azel kills off the Mountain Thief and gets a level. He gains one point of strength.

Sigurd kills Langbart.

Sylvia refreshes Sigurd.and Lex.

Sigurd repairs the Hero Sword from 11 uses to full uses and the Light Sword from 25 uses remaining to 44 uses remaining. He sold an Armor Cutter with 16 uses remaining, a Javelin with 4 uses remaining, and the Thief Sword with 4 uses remaining to net him just enough money to get one use on the Tyrfing. He then then re-moves so that he is next on the left side of the wall. He started with 30950 gold and is left with 10

Lachesis sells off the Silver Bow(22 uses left) and Prayer Sword (one use left) to repair the Rescue Wand to 9 uses and is left with 40 gold.

Aideen Warps Levin to Lubeck. Levin heals Sylvia.

Lex moves towards Aira

Aira moves to the right.

Jamka and Brigid move towards the leftmost village.

Alec moves into Aideen's vicinity.

Dew saves a village.

Levin silences a Fire Mage and moves five spaces. Lachesis also moves one less than her full range and rescues Sylvia. Sigurd completes the formation and Sylvia refreshes them all.

Beowulf begins trek back to castle.

Brigid and Jamka continue trek to western village.

The Thracian Dragon Knights go west and two Fire Mages attack Fury. The southern one hits.

Sigurd moves his full range. Lachesis moves right next to the cliff so that Levin will be rescued below her. Lachesis moves down two spaces. Levin, being right next to her, moves down three spaces, which convieniently allows for Sylvia to dance for them both. THANK GOODNESS FOR THAT ROAD TILE. Sylvia levels up and gains a point of HP, speed, and defense.

Lachesis, Levin move their full range; Levin heals up Fury with Libro. Alec just moves a couple spaces.

Claude moves out of the way of the Lubeck castle enterance. Aideen warps Tiltyu over to Lubeck.

Brigid and Jamka continue their trek back to the home castle.fa

Azel sells all his stuff. Azel had Thunder and Elwind. He then gives all of his money to Aideen.

Enemy Phase

Thracians just doing their thing.

Turn 10

Fury returns Lachesis to the home castle.

Sigurd moves his full range and is just next to the boundary of the cliff.

Levin moves onto the topmost space Leptor can reach him at.

Sylvia refreshes Fury. Fury returns her and positions herself on the cliff and right next to Levin. She is equipped with Cuan's Steel Lance.

Alec moves up a little more.

Lachesis sells the Silver Bow and then moves out to meet Beowulf.iu

Brigid and Jamka continue thier trek back to the home castle.

Holyn sells the Steel Blade. Aira buys and repairs both that and the Prayer Sword.

Tiltyu gives money to Claude and Claude then buys the Pursuit Ring.

Aideen repairs the Warp Staff.

Lex, Noish, Midir, Azel, Ardan, and Dew do nothing.

Enemy Phase

Fury fights five and kills four Dragon Knights. 3 already weakened in three hits, and 1 at full HP. Levin takes one hit from Magorn. Sigurd is hit by a Meteo.

Turn 11

Fury heals up Levin, moves out of the range of any Bows, and then Levin then kills Magron with a critical.

Sigurd moves one less than his full range so that he will only face Meteos.

Jamka and Brigid enter the castle. Beowulf and Lachesis head to Lubeck.

Sylvia dances in the home castle. Brigid repairs the Ichival and Jamka sells his Iron Bow. Brigid buys that and repairs the Ichival(13000 G spend).

Holyn sells his 17 remaining uses Iron Blade.

Enemy Phase

The Dragon Knights go after Fury and Alec. Five are left alive at the end of it all.

Sigurd is attacked with three Meteos from Fire Mages and a Javelin from an Armor. He dodges them all.

Levin kills the Sniper with Continue and then kills Leptor with Continue. He was hit by Leptor though.

Turn 12

Sigurd is one step short of Ida.

Levin heals Alec, Fury Returns him to the home castle.

Alec retreats a couple steps.

Jamka and Brigid enter the castle.

Sylvia dances in the castle. Levin repairs Silence and Holsety, sells the Thunder tome and the Libro Staff, and buys Fire. Jamka sells his Iron Bow and Brigid buys it. Brigid also buys the Killer Bow.

So yeah, Lachesis really should be a top tier unit. Her healing in Chapter 2 is actually quite useful and her protectors' extra offense does help in a pinch.

Dew may actually be much more valuable than his lack of combat ability suggests.

I dunno how the hell Tiltyu and Claude fell in love in 39 turns. Jealousy is the only explanation, but I don't recall making the formation often.

Beowulf should be prioritized in kills and he better be glued to Lachesis whenever the situation is possible in chapters 2 or 3.

Deirdre is actually a useful healer. Warp Staff user not so much.

Getting the Staff users to level 30 is really easy, it seems. Ok, with a little help from Dew and the Elite Ring for Levin, Lachesis, and Fury, but w/e

I added some stuff to the previous post.

Anyway first gen was 13+24+25+15+33+27=137 turns. Or it's 112 if you cut out the 25 turns of waiting.

Rana heals Celice

Celice kills the Axefighter.

Lakche and Skasaha move down to the right max range, out of the range of the Axe Armor. Lakche switches to the Silver Sword.

Turn 3

Lakche attacks the AxeFighter with the Steel Blade and activates Meteor Sword.

Rana heals Celice

Celice kills the Bow Armor.

Lester moves down and to the right his max range. Oifaye moves next to him(not full range because Lester took his spot), and Delmud trails. Looks like Lakche will always get the Iron Cuter from here on out.

Rana moves full range and heals Celice

Celice finishes off the Bow Armor.

Celice kills Harold and seizes. He nabs the Return Ring and gets a level up. Julia moves to the left. Everyone else just moves thier max range.

Turn 8

Celice goes into the castle and does some item switching. He stores the Hero Sword and Slim Sword and takes out the Return Ring and Light Sword(44 uses remaining.) He sells the Return Ring and then takes the Magic Ring outside of storage. He then moves himself onto the church.

Arthur attacks Dannan. Fee then attacks him and lands a critical.

Lana Warps Lester to Ganeshire so the Mountain Thief doesn't trash the castle. She gets an almost perfect level-up; she only did not gain speed.

Lester attacks the Mountain Thief and then moves back to the castle entrance.

Fee attacks the Mountain Thief with the Thief Sword. She only hits on the second try.

Lakche moves full range. Skasaha moves onto the Mountain tile next to her to initiate the convo that gives her Luck.

Delmud is positioned on a diagonal to Lakche. Oifaye is adjacent to both of them but outside of the range of AxeFighters.

Arthur goes south through the Mountains.

Oifaye moves onto a Mountain square.

Celice attacks an Axe Knight at melee range.

Lester kills the Mountain Thief going for the northeastern village.

Delmud moves 1 diagonal point to the up and right so that they don't overwhelm him.

Fee attacks the Mountain Thief with the Hero Lance and two-shots him. She then saves the village.

Julia heads west towards Lana and Arthur moves south.

Sophara Phase

Skasaha is attacked. He counters with two hits.

Lakche is then attacked twice and she counters with two hits on both enemies. (Note: they don't attack if they think they're gonna die, like when she's equipped with the Steel Blade.

Skasaha and Lakche move their full range towards the Skill Ring village.

Johalva will be parked on the village he saved for the rest of the chapter.

Celice kills the Axe Knight guarding Issac and levels up to 20|6.

Celice goes into the castle, stores away the Light Sword and Magic Ring, and takes out the Hero Sword and Shield Ring. He heads towards Rivough.

Rana Warps Julia to Issac castle. Julia walks the full range.

Lakche, Skasaha, and Lester are all in the vicinity of the Mountain Thief.

Mini Recap

Ok, Schmidt is really annoying. If you care about the combat rank(I'm not for this playthrough), you'll probably have to slow it down a bit and heal Celice with Rana after wiping out Johan's army. It seems like the AI also takes into account leadership stars, so those Hand Axe Axe Knights won't attack Celice if he has 48 evade from his speed and luck stats.

They are all annoyingly fragile. Choosing between the Speed or Shield Ring for Celice is hair-ripping.

Everyone else moves forward towards the southwest.

Celice moves max range so that he's one step short of the castle gate and talks to Shanan. Fee finishes off Cutzov with a crit, miss, and finishing blow with the Hero Lance. She is left with 6 HP(39-(43-10) HP). Shanan moves as far to the bottom right as he possibly could go.

Leaf rescues a village and Fin moves up a little bit to bait the Thunder Mage.

Everyone else moves to the southwest.

Celice seizes.

Everyone just moves; Fee towards the Mountain Thief, everyone else but the Lenster dudes towards the Melgen army. Nanna and Leaf head towards the Speed Ring village and save it on turn 11. She heals up Fin on turn 10.

Turn 12

Johalva moves into the range of the top far right Armor and Thunder Mage while everyone else moves towards Melgen. Fee continues towards the Mountain Thief and Leaf keeps on saving the villages.

Johalva is attacked by the Thunder Mage and then the Lance Armor. He activates Charge and kills the Lance Armor.

Turn 13

Celice and Shanan continue their treck south.

Nanna and Leaf approach the top village near Lenster.

Lester kills the Thunder Mage that attacked Johalva and retreats so that he is three squares behind Johalva.

Oifaye attacks the rightmost Lance Armor, kills it with a critical, and then retreats.

Delmud moves right below Lester.

Fee attacks the Mountain Thief, still in its starting place, and hits it twice for 20 total damage with the Thief Sword.

Johlava and Delmud so that they're out of range of the enemies. Delmud is still close enough to give Julia and Oifaye Charisma bonus.

Delmud kills the last Ballistae

Patty talks to Celice and Celice gets the Hero Sword.

Fee kills the Thunder Mage on the church with the Hero Lance.

Arthur moves down max range. Johalva moves down so that Julia can heal him and move full range.

Lester attacks one of the Thunder Mages. The mage dodges the first attack and Lester retreats one space out of range.

Rana moves north and heals Fee. Lakche and Skasaha also move north.

Oifaye kills a Thunder Mage with the Steel Lance.

Leaf saves the village and Nanna stands next to him.

Celice goes into the castle, goes into storage, takes out Tron, the "other" Hero Sword, and his Javelin, and sells them. He adds the Shield Ring to his Inventory.

Lana Warps Fee to Melgen. She is now at 13|15.

Fee enters Melgen and repairs the Earth Sword and heads due east.

Arthur attacks the top Swordfighter and finishes him.

Julia heals Arthur up with Relive.

Patty sells her Skill Ring and buys the two Return Rings.

Delmud and Johalva head east towards Alster.

Nanna returns Leaf home. Fin goes north max range.

Aless is placed two squares above the church, Skasaha right next to him, and Lakche to the southwest diagonal of him.

Fin parks himself on the border of the Thunder Mage's range and on the road surface.

Julia uses Resire on the bottom left Thunder Mage.

Fee crit-kills another the top Thunder Mage with a Hero Lance crit, equips the Earth Sword, and then retreats to form a wall with Julia.

Delmud talks to Nanna, and everyone else is positioned so that they can't be attacked by the remaining Thunder Mage.

Tinny walks towards Melgen and Celice towards Alster. Aless heads towards the village with the Shield Ring.

Lakche heads towards Darna.

Celice stores the Shield Ring and buys the Skill Ring.

Nanna returns Patty to the home castle.

Julia heals Fee for 1 HP to get to level 9.

Fin weakens the left General and Fee mops him up.

Everyone else moves max range to the right.

Skasaha moves down so that Rana and Lakche can both be refreshed by Laylea. Lakche then moves away from the castle entrance.

Celice moves max range. He can attack Blume on the next turn.

Julia heals Delmud.

Fee pops a General in two blows and parks herself in front of the castle.

Delmud tries to finish the last weakened General, but was denied. Oifaye then tries, denied once, but lands the finishing blow with the Iron Cutter.

Nanna heals up Oifaye.

Patty sells the Return Ring, buys the Berserk Sword, and gives Leaf 5000 gold.
