Inspired by random topics over the years, I've compiled a list of questions and answers to common FE4 and 5 mysteries that fans have pondered.

This is currently an early draft, so feel free to point out mistakes, additions or things that could be worded better. I'm also looking for suggestions for Q and As to add.

Genealogy of the Holy War

Q1. Which playable characters survived the Battle of Barhara?

A. First off, who definitely did not survive - Sigurd, Cuan and Ethlin (mentioned in the Epilogue of the 1st Generation). We see Fin and Levin both later in the 2nd Generation, although Levin was killed by Manfroy and resurrected by Holsety (seen in one of the opening demo battles), so he may not be completely alive. None of the other male characters are directly mentioned again. As for the females...

Lester tells his sister that their mother, Adean, is currently living in a convent at Tirnanogue.

Lakche and Skasaher mention that Ira never returned from the Battle of Barhara and Skasaher believes she died, while Lakche firmly believes that she's alive.

Tiltyu escaped to Silesia with her children, but was taken to Alster by Blume's men and later died.

Nanna tells Delmud that their mother, Lachesis, left Lenster to look for him at Isaac, but Delmud says that he never saw her, suggesting that she may have died crossing the Yied Desert. In Thracia 776, Fin goes to the Yied Desert in search for her after the war, but comes back empty-handed. In Shouzou Kaga's dream scenario, Lachesis was captured by the Loputo Sect and ends up imprisoned in Agustria.

If Levin was paired with Fury, Fee tells Sety and Levin that Fury died.

Patty and Faval don't know what happened to Briggid, but believe she died. It is heavily implied in Thracia 776 that she is living a new life as Evayle. After the war, she reunites with her children.

Leen mentions a dancer leaving her behind at a convent in Darna, possibly Sylvia. In the dream scenario, Sylvia left to find Claude and is still alive.

Q2. Why do some characters having missing holy blood? Eg. Scorpio is missing minor Ulir blood.

A. It could be an oversight on the programmers or possibly there is a chance of holy blood diluting and eventually disappearing over the years. This may be related to Celice, Yuria and Yurius missing a third holy blood (eg. Celice should have minor Loputousu blood, but only has major Baldo and minor Narga).

Q3. Of Ishtar and Ishtore, who is older?

A. Despite Ishtar possessing major Tordo blood, Ishtore is older. This is stated in the Fire Emblem: Treasure and also on the FETCG. However, there is simpler evidence - the Japanese language distinguishes older and younger siblings (and often older and younger sons/daughters). So, in-game, Ishtar will refer to Ishtore as "older brother", though she may just say "brother" in translations. Besides, it shouldn't be completely strange that a younger sister inherits major holy blood, since Kaga mentioned that the inheritance of major holy blood is entirely random and doesn't favour age or gender.

Q4. Why do Dakkar and Maios not possess Holsety blood despite being Levin's uncles?

A. This is probably answered by Q2. For Levin to possess major Holsety blood, either one of his parents possessed major Holsety and the other none/minor or both his parents possessed minor. Dakkar and Maios are Levin's uncles on his father's side, so perhaps Levin's grandfather had minor blood, which only Levin's father inherited.

Q5. Are Sylvia and Claude siblings?

A. Kaga was questioned about this in at least two interviews, but he seemed to dodge the question on both occasions, neither confirming it or shooting it down. It is hinted that they are siblings in the game (see Sylvia and Claude's conversation in Chapter 4 and the fact Sylvia has minor Blaggi blood), but I'm afraid I'll dodge the question too and leave it to your imagination.

Q6. How is Musar (a Mage Knight boss in Chapter 9) related to the Holsety bloodline?

A. Musar has minor Holsety blood and one of the villages in the chapter state that Musar's father was killed in the last war and that's why he resents Celice's army. There weren't any enemies with Holsety blood in the 1st Generation, so it's unknown as to who his father could be and thus how he is descended. It is possible that he is the son of either Dakkar or Maios, though neither possess Holsety blood. Similarly, it's unknown where the Falcon Knight trio in the Final Chapter got their Holsety blood from.

Thracia 776

Q7. Who exactly is Fergus?

A. His ending gives us all the clues as to who he might be. He is likely one of Beowolf's sons, who he had conceived 5-6 years before the Battle of Barhara, which is the reason why he can equip the Beo Sword along with Delmud. The official Thracia 776 site even listed Beowolf as his father, although that detail was later omitted. Fergus's ability to wield the Blaggi Sword, which requires one to carry holy blood, makes one wonder where he gained holy blood when Beowolf had none. The rumour about Fergus being the son of a Conote princess could explain this though - he may have inherited holy blood from that route (perhaps Noba blood?).

Q8. Who is the father of Lachesis's children?

A. Common consensus is that Nanna is her child with Fin, due to their close relationship, while Delmud is her child with Beowolf, due to the existance of the Beo Sword. It is possible that Nanna is Beowolf's child as well, since the official site originally listed Nanna's father as Beowolf. Though Nanna calls Fin her father, Mareeta calls Evayle her mother, yet those two are not blood-related.

[i might add some details about Nanna's birth later]

Q9. Is Evayle Briggid?

A. During Chapter 24x, Fin insists that Evayle is Briggid due to their identical appearances. However Evayle mentions she has no holy markings, which Briggid must have had as a carrier of major Ulir blood. Yet, when Evayle becomes the Demon Warlord Funf, she becomes a Sniper akin to Briggid instead of her usual Swordmaster self. Her ending also states that she was bound to a pact with the dragons and had her memories sealed; after the war, her memories recovered and she reunited with her children. Perhaps her entire identity as Briggid was sealed, hence the missing holy markings. The fact that she can live again as Briggid indicates that her situation is perhaps different to Levin, who cannot return to Silesia after the war - perhaps because Levin died once and she did not?

Thanks, this thread answered some of the questions that were in my head.

Hmm, but isn't it also possible that he inherited the major Holsety blood from his mother instead? She was the one who had the Holsety tome after all and it would explain why Daccar and Maios lack the holy blood.

Not sure if this is relevant but Bridget herself didn't know that she had major Ulir blood in FE4 until Aideen gave her the Ichival. So the fact that Eyvel didn't see any holy markings on herself wouldn't really mean much since Bridget didn't seem to notice them either in FE4.

  • 2 weeks later...

It's stated in Thracia 776 that Cyas can communicate with the ghost of Claude in the tower of blaggi. Meaning Claude is likely dead.

EDIT:My mistake, that would be Sleuf.
