FE4 Battle Sprite trouble

I've been toying around with FE4's Nightmare modules, giving classes weapons they didn't normally have access to. With melee weapons, it's fine. However with bows and the like, the weapon's sprite either doesn't hit the enemy (although damage is still recorded afterwards) or disappears entirely.

An example is with the Great Knight's throwing lance. In the module, I set the sprite's hex value as 10 09 07 07 (the same as the Duke Knight's). The Lance falls what would be about a meter short of the target and is somehow fired from the middle of the horse. I know the last value refers to palettes but I'm not too sure if I could solve this problem with the others or if some fancier hacking would be required.
