Because of how I play balloon battles in MK:DS (don't inflate any balloons and use the start-boost to get an item box as quickly as possible) I get it about 1/3 of the time, meaning that it's mostly useless (there's no items to steal and nothing to avoid) and takes up time so that my opponents can pull up items and destroy me.
