Alright, so I liked The Bends/OK Computer era Radiohead, but I wasn't a fan of the route they took after those two albums. There were a few songs that stuck out after that (2+2=5), but in general the music was a little too "out there". Would I enjoy their new album knowing this?

Probably not. This is definitely more in line with their experimental Kid A/Amnesiac efforts, although I've heard it compared to an "In Rainbows Disc 3" (which is a bit more traditional alt.rock). That said, I bet you'd like certain songs on that album. Here's a slow-paced one for you:

It's good, but I'm not that impressed.

I like the record, especially the 5-7 stretch, but I wouldn't say any of the songs break into even my top 10 favorite Radiohead tracks and the album as a whole is in a similar position. I think they were going for complexity, but in the process gave up some element of musicality that makes it so addictive; it sounds evocative, but it's hard to move or sing to. Still going through listens, though.

On another note, this is pretty structurally similar to Talking Heads' Remain in Light.
