(though guess it doesn't have to be in just scary movies) If you need me to explain more I can try. It's like when the camera either pans or stares at someone but in the background they have someone standing perfectly still and they blend in with the background so you don't notice them that well. Then the camera pans away and pans back and all of us a sudden it/he/she isn't there anymore, or when the camera stays still the person/creature moves all of a sudden and you are surprised and like "when did that get there???" How often do you actually notice that before it actually moves/disappears?
