Zkirsche
It appears most people are under the misconception that this game is filled with lance users. Here i will show otherwise. I'll leave out the prolouge because it's just... lol. Chapter 1 - 0/10. Chapter 2 - 0/13. Chapter 3 - 0/15. Chapter 4 - 14/22. Chapter 5 - FoW ftl. Chapter 6 - 12/24 Chapter 7 - 21/33 Chapter 8 - 21/42 Chapter 9 - 5/34 Chapter 10 - 0/0 (stealth) Chapter 11 - 15/34 (excluding Bk/Jill/Zihark, but including the wyvern reinforcements) Chapter 12 - 0/10 Chapter 13 - 10/38 Chapter 14 - FoW ftl. Chapter 15 - 0/20 Chapter 16 - 13/38 (excluding devdan). Chapter 17-1 - 3/21 Chapter 17-2 - 16/24 Chapter 17-3 - 13/43 Chapter 17-4 - 15/34 Chapter 18 - 16/36 Chapter 19 - 4/31 (excluding Naesala) Chapter 20 - 21/39 Chapter 21 - 18/54 (excluding Tauroneo) Chapter 22 - who cares we have meteor + reyson 3/54 Chapter 23 - 13/49 (excluding Haar) Chapter 24 - 20/53 (excluding BK) Chapter 25 - 4/32 Chapter 26 - 14/50 (including Bertram even though he'll probably always use the runesword). Chapter 27 - 13/50 Chapter 28 - 4/50 Endgame - 9/40 Aka 207/935 enemies use lances. Reikken be damned, it's only 22% of the enemies. Excluding chapter 22, chapter 15 and endgame, which most units won't see action in anyway, we get 195/821, or 24%. Conclusion: This game really doesn't have that many lances and thus sword lock is only bad because of no 2 range options aside from the sonic sword. Anouleth
Conclusion: This game really doesn't have that many lances and thus sword lock is only bad because of no 2 range options aside from the sonic sword. And because Swords are the weakest weapon, and also because relative to axe and sword enemies, lance enemies are still more common and thus swordlocked units will face WTD more often, and also because the lance wielding enemies such as Armours, Soldiers, Wyverns are generally more difficult to 2HKO than their Sword or Axe wielding brethren. Zkirsche
relative to axe and sword enemies, lance enemies are still more common and thus swordlocked units will face WTD more often The gap is far less pronounced than those would have you believe. People say Ike/Mia face WTD from like 60% of the map, when they clearly don't.

Axes allow for the greatest power and the greatest power against enemies that are hardest to ORKO.
Florete
I've been trying to tell people this for at least a year and a half now. Same for other non-FE7 games.
