(FE4) Two Questions

My first and foremost question is about triggering the second generation event where Celice gets his Life Ring. Does Celice have to kill Alvis with the Silver Sword given to Sigurd from Alvis in the Prologue chapter?

My second question is if anyone has any experience with pairing Fin with Tiltyu to have a skillset similar to Ambush + Wrath in that Prayer activates when the enemy unit attacks Arthur / Tinny so they dodge and they have two chances to Wrath the enemy with Pursuit. I think this might also have the benefit of a Fin conversation in second generation to increase Magic stat? So I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this pairing and the results of it.

1. It would be ironic, but no. I've always used Tyrfing and I get the ring afterwards.

2. I've never done it, but it'd probably end up like a weaker version of Ambush/Wrath. You'd also have to rush to get Fin and Tiltyu together in time. Sounds interesting, though.

1. No. However, I do agree it would be ironic.

2. I believe to have Fin hook up with Tiltyu you would have to rush and I mean rush through the whole chapter for him to get there. Also Fin only has special conversions if he hooked up with Aideen, Aira, or Lachesis.

Wrath has a 100% chance to activate.

Fin/Tiltyu is fun to theorize about, I remember writing walls of text about how it's better than Lex/Tiltyu. It takes a bit of smart playing to get it to work out though. First, you need to pair them, which is honestly not that hard with a 180/+10 love base/growth. With the adjacent bonus, that's 21 turns, meaning you have 29 turns to seize two castles and get the two next to each other. How do you do this? Well, it helps to have a ridiculously strong Sigurd, and to have either Lachesis or Ethlin follow him around with the Return Ring and Return/Warp Staff. Sigurd can seize Madino on turn 3 if he's powerful enough to ignore the enemies and ORKO the Forrest boss. Then you can use the staff to bring him back home, and follow immediately with the staff horse. Walk to Silvail through the Cross Knights and Elthsan.

For those interested in finishing the chapter really quickly, you can either Return Sigurd with Ethlin or unpromoted Lachesis and then use Aideen to Warp him to Madino, or Warp him up there right away with promoted Lachesis depending on your set-up. But you will probably want to get Fin up there ASAP instead. You can even have Fin maul the Pirates if you so desire, just activate Prayer and give him the Hero Lance and he should be able to do it at a real low level. Stronger Fins can use Silver or even Steel.

As for using their offsprings, use some basic maths to get them low on HP from an enemy attack. Prayer only works on the phase you activate it, so what you want to do is have the first enemy of a horde bring one of them into Prayer range, and then the rest will suicide on them while eating two critical hits in return. An advantage to this is that enemies with Hero weapons and ballistae don't bother you as much.
