There names were Prince Hero, and Queen Crizix, the same as that sea to the south. Ah, the naming habits of nobles have an odd reasoning to them I understand but will never truly grasp the need for! But there's more to this tale than just that dear boy! You see, the shy prince and affectionate queen met each other many more times, and became close friends. Have you a guess what happens next? Haha! Well, the two kingdoms were very close, and the two houses would sometimes show up together in public. Now, they weren't open about how they felt, they're royals, nothing can ever be simple. Arranged marriages for them are like contracts, it's all political and the prince was being eyed by the princess of some far away kingdom, you know, the one were the stereotype is they're all drunk or high or both. To go public about that would be...big, and not in a very peaceful way. Rumors began, as they always do, and civil unrest began to spark. I was then captain of the princes's guard, and my job certainly became a bit harder then! It was my personal advice that the prince stay away from her, and leave the public relations to his parents and sibling. But of course, he wouldn't listen. I sent a message to the Queen's guard captain asking her to give the same advice...I've yet to get a reply to that letter. After a few years, riots started in the streets, and the princes's father, king of Brotharia, banned him from seeing the queen. The former was a bit extreme if you ask me, but I was reassigned to help manage them. So, of course, the prince was left without a watch. Or at least, not one of any skill. This gave him a chance to run away, so he did. He dashed through city streets, smuggled himself in carts, all to reach the queen of Rhodaschis. Eventually he was dragged back by Rhodaschian soldiers, out cold and beaten looking. Apparently he had not succeeded so in interning the castle, nor being secretive about his motive. So while those goons didn't say much, I inferred they beat the snot out of him and sent him back for his young affections. A few days later Queen Crizix arrived at that there castle, to apologize to the Brotharian royal family. You'd think that would be good, because there was talk of border locking, trade cut offs, even war. I thought so to, and that whatever unrest caused by those two in the same room would be worth keeping the peace. A few more days later Prince Hero woke up. It was the second day he was awake he and Crizix dismissed me for the night. telling me that a substitute would be sent for. Now, normally i would object and remain there the night, but I was tired of the ordeal so I took my squad out and we took the night off.
