Conquest on Lunatic is definitely among the series' hardest. There were actually a couple of reviewers who raged because of conquest's difficulty, or rather because they were not allowed to grind. Tryhard Posted March 17, 2017 Share Posted March 17, 2017 (edited) right now they say it has normal and hard classic and casual and nothing else, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a lunatic mode unlocked after completion ala FE12 Lunatic Reverse but gaiden had normal mode and a secret easy mode that really just gave everyone elite like FE5, and it's hard to gauge its difficulty to the other games with grinding being a thing. there's certain things that are very difficult if you don't see them coming. the first mercenary you see in FE2 has a leather shield (+3 def) and can reck most of your party in like the third map.
