spoon98
are they magic from a distant and physical close or just magic only?
Othin
Ranged sword and Manakete attacks are physical both in melee and at range.
Remnant Sage
The Levin Sword counts as magic from both close and long range.
Othin
The Levin Sword counts as magic from both close and long range. Ah, yes. Forgot about that one. Levin Sword is magic at all range, Amatsu and Ragnell are physical at all range.
spoon98
Ah, yes. Forgot about that one. And im assuming Manakete breath some element for distance right?
Remnant Sage
For Amatsu and Ragnell, the unit just chucks the sword at the enemy. You'll get a "casting" animation out of the Levin Sword. Manakete look like they're spitting something at the enemy, really. Looks something like a bubble and some ice.
Othin
Manakete use ice breath at any range.

spoon98
Yes. Ragnell. Thrown like a throwing knive. i have been mindfucked......by this......Ragnell......thrown at least manakete breath helps my head....kinda
Andreyas
Enemy: Haha, you can't reach me! Krom: *throws Ragnell (If he can use it) at enemy* Enemy: Dafuq? *dead*
nocturnal YL
Krom can use Ragnell. Any sword user can. I was surprised when I saw this as well. Amatsu being thrown was surprising enough, but Ragnell behaving the same is really unexpected.
sallas09
So there is a cast animation for swords and yet the swordsman just chucks ragnell like its a dagger? That's so silly its awesome. Now I want to see an assassin kill simeone by lobbing a two handed sword at them. Looks to me like they did it to distinguish ragnell and amatsu's physical properties from the levin swords' magic. But that's such an odd way to do it.
Ein
Because throwing respawning javelins/knives and boomerang axes isn't ridiculous enough.
spoon98
Because throwing respawning javelins/knives and boomerang axes isn't ridiculous enough. well ( i haven't seen throwable axes in FE13 but im going to go by GBA since im so used to it) they throw it like a boomerang and lances they could be carrying a crap ton of them Edited July 6, 2012 by spoon98
Othin
Axes don't boomerang anymore, but it was still ridiculous when they did.

nocturnal YL
You know what else is ridiculous? Ranged attacks going through walls. FE9~10 disallowed that* persumably because of the obvious graphical weirdness. FE13 kinda solved that by showing the characters attacking over the wall (as if there's no ceiling) if you turn off the battle animation. * Actually, FE9 simply counted walls and such as 3 spaces so that it appears you can't shoot arrows across them. You can still shoot across walls using the weird, range 4 only Double Bow. Edited July 7, 2012 by nocturnal YL

nocturnal YL
You can't attack with solid walls in between, but you can with fences. Edited July 7, 2012 by nocturnal YL
