shadowofchaos
Yeah, something's just bugging me. Is it just my bad English skills... Or shouldn't it be, "If he hadn't, he would not have lost to the likes of you."? If I am right, and it's not just my crappy English skills, should I go about correcting that in the critical collection or something? Dr. Tarrasque
hadn't/had not would be correct here. "If he didn't" would also work. Edited August 10, 2012 by Sirius
Book of Ereshkigal
I don't get it... "My father robbed himself of the use of his stronger arm. If he had, he would not have lost to the likes of you." If he had what? Is that line not referring to him disabling himself? Because in the context it feels like it should be "If he had not(disabled himself), he would not have lost to the likes of you." Or do I fail english too <.> I also misunderstood Sirius, but whatevs Edited August 10, 2012 by L95
Dandragon
i think shadow is right. this may very well be a mistranslation, as it is bassically saying "If my father had robbed himself of using his stronger arm, he wouldn't have lost to you." It might have been true if Griel decided to use a hammer or something. >_> But yeah, it should be "hadn't". EDIT: Ninja'd by L95! Curse you! Hawk King
No. He is saying "If he had (used his stronger arm/ the use of his stronger arm) he would not..."
CT075
it's really ambiguous but hawk king is correct
Florete
Hawk King is right in what it's trying to say, but it's still really confusing and would probably be chalked up to a mistake and edited if it had been caught. It's just not how someone would say that.
Agility
Yea, I agree with Hawk King, Given the situation had fits well there but on the other hand I'm not used to people talking that way ether though lol
