TwinBlade
Casual mode also makes it so that you have FE10 battle saves instead of suspends. Really? That's stupid.. You shouldn't be forced to play casual when you like the classic style just for battle saves. I prefer the fe11 style battle saves, so that you can't do it as often as you like. nocturnal YL
Battle save isn't really needed in FE13's case. Most battles are short anyway, and very rarely last for more than 10 turns. It's not needed in FE10 either, if you're an experienced series player, although I do loathe how battle save is only in the overseas (non-Japanese) versions of FE10. TwinBlade
I know it isn't needed, I myself don't use it very often unless I accidentally place a weaker unit in the headsmans clutches... Like if I don't notice a specific unit in range or whatever.
Othin
Battle saves go about as much against FE tradition as Casual Mode in still not making you reset for losing characters. Although the two together is rather redundant. They really didn't need to include Battle Saves at all.
TwinBlade
I don't want battle saves in either, but I overlook things sometimes. I wouldn't mind if they were taken out though. I don't mind playing through chapters again, I enjoy them too much.

If you're not used to difficulty for the characters not getting killed... and for battle saves to experiment with "I should have done this instead." It gets newcomers to be able to trial and error without going through the usual pain of restarting a chapter to try it.
