Regarding Text Editing in FE6

Hey guys,

I am translating FE6 and decided to take a look at how I could go about inserting my script into the game. Now, I guess y'all know about the issue with FEditor screwing up the ROM. Is there any way to prevent this from happening or any alternative to work with?

I also have to insert some new characters (I hate them Umlauts). I get this has something to do with table editing, but I don't quite understand all that stuff. Is there any specific information regarding inserting new letters for this game? I imagine there has to be, or else there could not be a translation.

I hope I don't sound too demanding (or too much like a dick), but if so, I apologise.

there isn't really a way to prevent feditor from breaking your game short of fixing the asm fuckups yourself (ie changing/repointing/rewriting all the bad code)

you can insert new symbols by just screwing with the graphics
