Possible shipping delays for Fire Emblem: Awakening

So according to Amazon's website, there is a possible chance for shipping delays for Fire Emblem: Awakening. On the Amazon website for Fire Emblem: Awakening, it says that "Delivery of Fire Emblem: Awakening pre-orders may be affected by manufacturer shipping delays . Amazon apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause." Not sure if the delays will actually occur, however. Also, GameStop is apparently no longer accepting pre-orders for the game itself. They're still accepting pre-orders for the Fire Emblem: Awakening 3DS bundle, but not the game alone.

Just thought I would share this to let everyone know.

Amazon's Fire Emblem: Awakening Page

GameStop's Listing for Fire Emblem: Awakening

Notice how the option to add the game is not available on GameStop's page for the game?

The only reason that I can see for the shipping delay and stuff is that Nintendo of America wasn't expecting so many people to pre-order the game.

Also, apparently GameStop has reached their pre-order limit for the game, so that would be why it's not available for pre-order as the game alone anymore.

Can't imagine here in Brazil. For all those delays there in the US, resellers here say that the game will PROBABLY arrive here at Feb,14th. Which is Carnival week, so i can probably expect to get the game around Feb 20th.

Digital copy day one, hour one for the win!

Since I don't know what the pre-order limit for Fire Emblem: Awakening is, I wonder how many copies will be sold. Also, I'm wondering if it has any connection to the pre-order bonus at GameStop or not.

Like I said, I know that Amazon is still accepting pre-orders, just that the game might be delayed a bit in shipping. And GameStop is still accepting pre-orders for the Fire Emblem: Awakening 3DS bundle.

And whether this delay affects smaller game stores and other stores like Target, WalMart, and Best Buy is unknown. We can only wait and see I suppose.

My cousin runs a GS. He told me all his pre-orders are full. I ordered online and payed the extra shipping, so hopefully I don't get screwed.

Well, I'm pretty sure that it's just Amazon at the moment that has the possible shipping delays stated. Whether GameStop and other retailers do is another story. It just depends on how many copies Nintendo of America makes of the game for launch.

Sounds like Nintendo wasn't expecting this much of a hype to happen. They should have known better. (They've been sorely underestimating us from the start, honestly. I think their surprise at E3's leak spreading like a wild fire proves this.)

I preordered the bundle. I really could care less whether or not I get an art book. I just want my 3DS and my game. lol

Yeah, I had a feeling that this game would sell more than Nintendo anticipated as soon as they announced it after their 3DS expo at E3. Nintendo has always underestimated the fans of Fire Emblem and I'm still surprised by the amount of advertisement they have been giving this game.

GameStop pre-orders are indeed full, I was talking to some employees at three separate stores a couple days ago.

They also keep insisting that February 4th is the ship date rather than the release date, despite the fact that everywhere else says they'll have it on the 4th.

One day, I will wait. But if there's shipping issues at the GameStop I pre-ordered at, artbook be damned, I'm just gonna buy the first copy I see and cancel the pre-order.

Yeah, I've noticed that GameStop does that a lot with Nintendo games. The shipping date that GameStop has is usually the release date of the games...That's what they did with Pokemon Conquest when it came out. They said that usually they only get Nintendo games on Sundays or Tuesdays. Never Mondays...

Yeah, pretty glad to be in the download court on this one. I decided to also put my reservation in with the nearby game store. Since I'm out here in the Philippines where nobody owns a 3DS, I'm kind of safe.

You got your assumptions wrong unfortunately. There are a handful of people who owned a 3DS here in the Philippines. I'm just hoping that the local gamestore have enough stocks during the.day of the release since they only stock limited amounts for 3DS titles. But since it's getting popular they might stock enough of it. I just dropped by a few hours ago to reserve and they have it in their upcoming titles, unlike some niche titles.

Whelp, I managed to preorder my bundle, and they still told me that its gonna come in the 5th. I'm gonna have high hopes and try contacting them near the release date again; they're probably gonna pull the same thing they pulled with Conquest, but if they actually have my bundle in store on the 4th and I still can't get it, I'm gonna be so pissed....

And now that I think about it, I completely forgot to ask them if my preorder came with the art book. Does anyone one know if a preorder made on the 24th or after gets the artbook?

I think that if you pre-ordered the bundle and since GameStop still has the pre-order bonus thing on there, you should be able to get the artbook still. Not sure, though. I know that it will depend on whether they still have artbooks left or not. Might also be a first come, first serve type of thing. Also, if they have the games on the 4th and won't sell them until the 5th, I'm going to be pissed as well.

Ah, that's good to hear. My primary goal has always been to at least secure the bundle, but if I can the get art book too that'll be great! Otherwise, its not a huge loss, but it would be disappointing.

At this point for me, I'm either not going to get it on the 4th because they're not selling it yet (probably), or because I'll be out of town because my grandma decided to spring a surprise trip to DC on us and have us drop whatever we're doing and go (and we can't disobey matriarch orders). If so, I'm gonna have to temporarily leave the site for at least a day; its gonna be so painful hearing everyone playing the game... (Europe and Australia are still in my thoughts too).

When I preordered mine in-store, I asked the employee, and he said that since it was a preorder, I could pick it up on the 4th. Dunno about anyone else's stores, though. Made it sound like anyone who didn't preorder was screwed.

It had better come on the 4th because I put my preorder in early and I'm leaving work early to go and get it. I am obsessed.

Aye, I'm totally with you

I called Gamestop a few times and while one place was unsure of when they'd have it another place assured me it'd be available the 4th... hopefully it really is, as I pre-ordered it at the gamestop closest to me and if it's not there, well, derp, 'course I'm gonna be mad! :P Best Buy also seems to be getting it the 4th, but I couldn't actually get any information about shipping--all I concluded was that I should call the Friday or Saturday beforehand to check the shipping status as the game is not shipping several days early as is often typical of games. I plan to do this and possibly cancel my pre-order with GS if I have to wait on the 5th, either making the trip to get it from Best Buy (who said they are going to have copies in whether I pre-order or not) or just downloading it out of impatience (though I want the character artbook from Game Stop, so bleh... I really just hope everything works normally and GS has it the day they should ><).
