So... In the chapter you have the option of helping either team, and you have the option of fighting both at once.

Do you get anything different if you side with one over the other? And is fighting both of them at once a bad idea?

I found that the best way to beat this level was to sent magic units right with a physical unit with beast killer. Then send physical units with hammers left. Yarne will not move turn one unless you enter his range but he will move turn two. At this point recruit him and send him over to the right side so that the beast buster skill completly wrecks the mounted army then just rout the enemy.
