Klokinator
Right now I'm doing a LP of FE7if, and I had a brilliant idea of opening the (U) FE7, dumping the script, opening the (J) Rekka No Ken, then inserting the (U) script into the (J) rom. By doing this I should be able to convert most of this reskin to english. Well two problems. 1) FEditor won't open the (J) rom at all (Probably because of checksum and whatnot, I even tried using the oldest version of FEditor that I had, hoping the check for the checksum line wasn't there) and 2) I don't even know if this would work because the japanese rom might be incapable of displaying english letters anyway. Help?
Crimson Red
Offsets are different, it screws more than just a checksum Also I have no idea if the English font is there and installed but my guess would be "no, it isn't"
Klokinator
Well fuck. I was mostly just hoping to replace character names and menu options but I'll live without them. Makes me look more hardcore I guess? Thanks.
zahlman
If you're doing it on Youtube you could just make fucktons of annotations with the translations of names and such for viewers
Crimson Red
Or do what I did and base it off what the katakana look like/make up random stuff based on what letters I know (I can't be bothered to even remember my katakana all the time... [/nub]) like the lance-dude who looks kinda like Klein IIRC and has Ephraim-based sprites... his name had a symbol that looked like a smiley face and he was kind of a soldier class so we called him "Captain Smiles" :D
