Anybody heard of/remember Fire Emblem by Web?

It's an attempt at an online version of Fire Emblem through web browsers. I think it was made around 2004. You get to make your own units, I think they might've intended to implement supports because affinities exist, but for now they're just there. I've played a game with my friend once, and it's kinda fun to play.

Yeah, I remember. Fun idea, but not really the best kind of game for multiplayer battles like they had.

Then again, I think an Awakening based version would be fun, with certain mechanics not implemented (such as Pair Up/Dual Guard/Strike, and probably Brave Weapons).

Yeah, I had a game years ago with a friend. It was the only game I played of it, it lasted quite a while, and...in fact, we never finished it. It was too slow and boring because you had to constantly refresh the page to see when it was your turn.

However, the character creation was quite nice. This game is what made me really like the idea of creating one's own FE character, which was finally implemented in FE12. I used the CC to plan out the characters in the fantasy novel that I'm still writing: my old FEbW party is the mercenary group that one of the main characters grows up with...kind of like Ike... Hm...

It really is too slow in terms of pace. If it were updated, it'd be so much better, but it sorta fell into obscurity. Kinda makes me want to have an FE game that let's you create your own team. If it DID get to that, though, one could be afraid that if it had online play like other online games that the community might turn sour.

I think the problem is the FE fanbase isn't big enough / IS doesn't care enough about us and goes for a more commercial direction for such good ideas to be carried out properly.

Both are reasonable assumptions.
