Found this badass game, it's in beta and it looks really solid. Might buy it this weekend.

Reminds me of Space Pirates and Zombies combined with Faster than Light and some good solid rpg elements.

Looks cool! The art and lore sections have started to suck me in, and I guess I'm kind of a sucker for that "determine the fate of humanity in a space-faring age" kind of story setup. Have they said how far along to complete the game is?
