kaonohiokala
Copied from my GFAQs post: ITT, I'll share with you my technique for using BEXP to optimize your characters. If you already know how to do it, good for you. You get a pop tart [:. In order to use my most excellent technique, you must have basic math skills and/or microsoft excel. Okay, to know who to level up with BEXP, add up all of that characters growth rates and divide that by 100. If the number is higher than 3, you probably shouldn't level with BEXP and instead it would be better to fill up their EXP gauge to 99 so that they can level in the next battle. You'll most likely get better level-ups that way. If the number is lower than 3, go ahead and BEXP level them as much as you like. Once your characters start to cap stats, things will change a little. While adding up their growth rate total, do not count the capped stat. So the formula to get the number would be: n = (GrowthRateTotal - CappedStatGrowths) / 100 For optimum growths: if n > 3, do not level with BEXP if n = 3, level normally or with BEXP if n < 3, level BEXP The farther the number is from 3, the harder you should try to level the character in the preferred way. For example, Caineghis has very bad growths. You should make an effort to BEXP level him over normal levelling. On the other hand, you should make an effort to normally level characters with excellent growths such as Micaiah. Then theres middle characters like Ena, who you can level either way. The number you get after doing the formula is how many stats, on average, you will gain with a normal level up.
Florete
Interesting. How did you come up with this?
鳴美
*makes full list out of boredom....* Note: This list assumes nothing is capped. Do not level up with BEXP: Micaiah(4) Eddie(3.8) Leonardo(Also 3.8 ._.) Nolan(3.9) Laura(3.8) Sothe(3.5) Illyana(3.6) Aran(3.75) Meg(3.75) Volug(3.25) Tauroneo(3.3) Jill(3.6) Zihark(3.45) Fiona(3.6) Stefan(3.5) Volke(3.1) Do: Naesala(2.8) Caineghis(2.4) Nasir(2.85, not like you even can....) Gareth(2.95, same as above) Doesn't Matter: Ena Renning To be finished when I have time
kaonohiokala
I came up with this after hearing that BEXP should be used after a unit starts capping stats. I thought that that wasn't accurate enough so I figured out the math.
water
i just did full list for everybody by order of recruitment lol T_T (without anything capped) Bold are 3.05 or higher and shouldn't be useing BExp on Italic are less than or equal to 3 and should use BExp on! Micaiah 4 Edward 3.8 Leonardo 3.8 Nolan 3.6 Laura 3.8 Sothe 3.5 Ilyana 3.6 Aran 3.75 Meg 3.75 Volug 3.25 Tauroneo 3.3 Jill 3.6 Zihark 3.45 Fiona 3.6 Tormod 3.5 Muarim 3.05 Vika 4 Nailah 2.5 Rafiel 2.5 Black Knight 0 Elincia 3.85 Marcia 3.45 Nealuchi 3.25 Leanne 2.6 Haar 3.35 Brom 3.5 Nephenee 3.5 Heather 3.45 Lucia 3.2 Lethe 3.05 Mordecai 3.15 Geoffrey 3.3 Kieran 3.35 Astrid 3.5 Makalov 3.45 Danved 3.4 Calill 3.4 Ike 3.1 Titania 3.3 Soren 3.7 Mist 3.5 Rolf 3.5 Boyd 3.4 Oscar 3.35 Shinon 3.35 Gatrie 3.45 Rhys 3.55 Mia 3.55 Ranulf 2.7 Kyza 3.15 Lyre 3.3 Reyson 2.4 Janaff 2.75 Ulki 2.75 Sigrun 3.2 Tanith 3.25 Sanaki 4 Skrimir 2.65 Tibarn 2.5 Naesala 2.8 Pelleas 3.35 Stefan 3.5 Oliver 3.15 Bastian 3 Volke 3.1 Kurthnaga 3.35 Ena 3 Caineghis 2.4 Giffca 2.4 Renning 3 Gareth 2.95 Nasir 2.85 Lehran 0 oops lol look like i posted abit late and sum1 started doing it =D and oh yeah ty for the equation kao! this will help me greatly! CGV
damn, i wish i wouldve done this since the beginning of the game. oh well, next game i'll try this out ad see how well it works cuz i never know when to level up with bexp or on the battlefield
kaonohiokala
I only figured this out after i got past part 1. from then on i used all my BEXP to bring Leanne to lv. 15 so that she could be slightly more useful in 2-Endgame. Oh, and in case you want to know laguz level in comparison to beorc level, just multiply the laguz level by 1.5 and it'll be equal to beorc levels assuming that beorc 1st tier is 1-20, 2nd is 21-40, and 3rd is 41-60. I usually use this to see who is falling behind and needs help.
Aurion_Emblem
nice, very useful datums here...I haven't thought through the game's logic enough to have even considered this... poor Laguz 8 bold 14 italic 1 ena
kaonohiokala
Laguz tend to have poor growths because all of their stats double as they change forms. That's why it's recommended to use stat-boosters on them instead of beorc.
kaonohiokala
Bump. This needs to stay up.
SwordsAreShiney
This stuff was kinda already known. o.o; If you add up the character's growths that aren't capped and they're ~250 or higher, then you're better off levelling normally. 300's more exact, but obviously if it's just below 300, then it doesn't make much of a difference. kaonohiokala
Hmm.... I guess you guys are smarter than the GFAQs dudes. They're all "OMG thanks man. nice info.". But I'm sure that there are some people out there that don't have mathematical brains, so this'll help them. Oh, and then there's the problem with no 0-stat gains. Depending on how this affects the stat growth system, this formula might be a little off.
