lonelyVoxel Posted January 13, 2015 Share Posted January 13, 2015 This is less of a hacking question than a troubleshooting thread pertaining to a hack. I picked up the Girls hack of FE8 recently to pass some time, but any time I went to the map the game reset. If I go to the map after the end of Chapter 3, which I have a save file of, then it will crash without an error message. The screenshot attached is what happens when the map is first seen, after Chapter 1. I don't know what the error message means, but it would be great if I could have some help solving this problem. I'm using VisualBoy Advance on my Windows 8. My Windows 7 computer didn't have this problem, strangely. The link below goes to a video that shows the problem. Celice Posted January 13, 2015 Share Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) You are using the hacky English copy/paste script. This will cause many issues and crashes for the hack, and the hack author warns against this. You simply need to mash start to skip any event that crashes, because there are some text problems. If you cannot do this then temporarily play with the original japanese hack to get past the crash, save, and then reapply the hacky English patch. The translation isn't really helpful to me since I pretty much know who everyone is, and really don't care if I don't. Anyway, I think where I got the ROM had it prepatched in an archive of hacks.
