Well, at least I'm not the only one who noticed it, but I think they are supposed Ofuda, Japanese paper charms or amulets, and not cards. Same practical use, just a different visual. It makes for nice variety at least. I'd be surprised if it's a fundamentally different class. Strawman Posted January 20, 2015 Share Posted January 20, 2015 There does seem to be a lack of any characters/map sprites in the trailer that look like typical FE mages, though there are what are probably dark mages. Do you think they would give mages and dark mages different weapons? They both use magic, but mages use tomes and dark mages use something else? It just seems like tome to fan/Ofuda/cards/etc is a larger jump in animation and difference than sword to katana, axe to mace, and lance to naginata.
