Tanks decrease in accuracy as they take damage. Gunther's accuracy with a snapshot is currently 24%, aimed ~40%. The cannon doesn't get an autoshot - it's probably just a heavy laser.

Ryan: "I mean, yeah, but."

Overthrone: "Two in the gas station! I'm dealing with the problem. ... Wait, a thir-"

Someone shoots the Cyberdisk (who had, by then, killed Duchess Helmsdeep). The explosion, hilariously, kills a civilian - but the mission's done.

If you're skilled (and lucky) enough, you can get your soldiers to uber status. But XCOM's difficulty makes me not want to touch it with a 10-foot pole.

If you're skilled (and lucky) enough, you can get your soldiers to uber status. But XCOM's difficulty makes me not want to touch it with a 10-foot pole.

It's more about the soldier's luck and skill, really. People are always going to die, and while there's a significant weighting towards it being breach guys and the like, it's not really in your hands who bites the dust.

Honestly? X-COM never really puts you into unwinnable situations short of losing the Skyranger early on. As long as you don't get into the mindset of always wanting to reload when a soldier you care about dies, you won't need to reload too often. I've reloaded like four times in this LP.

So basically the US has decided that, hell, aliens are awesome! It's like that one episode of the Simpsons, and it fucks us royally.
Does it make them more likely to find and attack us? I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised. And, yes, as I've hinted several times but never said outright, aliens will attack your bases if they find them.

IIRC the major milestones are; Interrogate Anyone - Interrogate Leader (on ships bigger than scouts. I'm not sure if Mutons have leaders, either) - Interrogate Commander (only in bases, and i think base attacks are unlocked by interrogating the leader) - Final Fight. Might be missing a step. We're further in the tech level than we are in terms of game progress. I'd estimate we're maybe 40-50% through the LP?

I used the floater leader I had as the first person I interrogated and I'm still kicking myself for it.

Mostly useless except for selling for insane money.

Plasma rifles do 35 less damage than heavy plasmas, use the same TUs and are slightly more accurate while also being rarer.

We are selling all of our plasma rifles.

sectoids are nerds

Interrogating different classes gives you different things. Soldiers don't tell you anything except their race, which other classes will also tell you. Navigators know about mission types. Engineers know about ship types. Ships don't tend to be that interesting, though.
