Blaze The Great
There is no topic for this and I loved NCAA Basketball, so here is a thread to discuss it. Looking forward to March Madness, hopefully my KU Jayhawks make a good run this year.
Bullwine85
Wake me up when Marquette's recruiting class gets to be in their prime :(
Blaze The Great
Haha that may take a while. And hey, somebody actually posted on here.
Bullwine85
Haha that may take a while. And hey, somebody actually posted on here. It will. On the bright side, someone from my hometown is a part of that recruiting class, which is definitely a positive.
Zasplach
Gonna be a rough year to watch; I can't stand UK and John Calapari, but they seem like odds on favorites to go undefeated and win the whole thing. Not many great year for my Pac-12 or Sun Devils either. Tough year.

Not many great year for my Pac-12 or Sun Devils either. Tough year. It's going to be a rough couple of years for me. Watching Marquette flounder while trying to build for the future is one thing, but the Badgers being as good as they have been is just more salt in the wound
Zasplach
Yeah, my school is the king of the little brothers in basketball. Arizona State versus University of Arizona. Yep, lots of salt.
Bullwine85
Yeah, my school is the king of the little brothers in basketball. Arizona State versus University of Arizona. Yep, lots of salt. That's bad, but try having a program that's just as successful historically as your in-state rival, even having won a national championship more recently, and having produced talented players/coaches that went on to be successful in the NBA....and STILL being treated as the little brother despite this. It'd be like ASU having a program arguably more successful than Arizona, yet Arizona still hogs all the media attention. Zasplach
Marquette's big issue is that they are a non-football playing school in a football dominated nation, so there are a ton more Wisconsin fans to begin with and along with that Wisconsin is in the bigger tv conference, though Marquette is in the bigger market. Nice thing about being in the metro Phoenix area is that everyone ignores UA, ha. But yeah, life isn't fair in terms of coverage, and money is king. Nice thing about being in the metro Phoenix area is that everyone ignores UA, ha. But yeah, life isn't fair in terms of coverage, and money is king. That much is true. Pretty much the only area where there's more Marquette coverage than UW is in Milwaukee itself (well, except for the Journal Sentinel Newspaper that is). It also doesn't help that Wisconsinites are used to the B1G, and can have rivals such as tOSU, Michigan, and Minnesota, while there hasn't been anyone for the majority of Wisconsinites to hate in the Big East (though Marquette fans are known to dislike Georgetown, Louisville, etc.) Though both UW and Marquette have good reasons to dislike Indiana (UW because of being in the same conference, and Marquette because of how Tom Crean left) Edited March 8, 2015 by Bullwine85
Zasplach
The problem is that the Big East went *boom* a few years ago and I would never have thought it, but the way the conference makeup has made the rich richer. Marquette'll have to get to the sweet 16 before they got talked about like they were 5 years ago.

Or they could get to the Elite Eight like two years ago....or Final Four like in 2003.....or party like it's 1977 and win the entire thing. I wish :(
Zasplach
beauty of sport, there's always next year. Besides, you guys have a young coach from mike krzyzewski's tree, I wouldn't be worried .

It'll be even more fun on my dads side of the family if Wichita St wins. Also, Iowa State and Villanova ruined my bracket

Bullwine85
Tonight, I might actually root for the Badgers for once. Probably because they're playing Duke. Edited April 6, 2015 by Bullwine85
