In retrospect, Awakening's abundance of rout the enemy/kill the boss objectives is maybe not a great replacement for endless seizing. I still stand by my vote if only for all of Awakening's content.

Best Characters: I voted for FE8. It's characters are really memorable, with nice back stories and many of them have good motivations for joining the army. I also find their supports really well written. I actually feel that way about all the 3 GBA games, though, with FE7 having even more memorable characters and FE6 having some fantastic supports, like Lance x Clarine, Astol x Igrene and Treck x Juno.

Best Story: I ended up voting for FE4. It's an engaging, unpredictable tale (if you didn't spoil yourself, of course) and has many villains that aren't just "pure evil" and had reasons for doing what they did. It's also well written and manages to entertain.

Best Gameplay: FE7. I love everything about it. The maps design are amazing, the difficulty is pretty good on HHM, the growth rates aren't inflated, among other things.

Best Overall: FE7.

8 has some really in depth characters with really thorough backstories.

Ignoring the plot holes and whatnot, I really like 10s overall approach to the story, showing it from several perspectives, getting really in depth with the political relations between the countries and stuff.

10 also defiantly had the best gameplay, no question, at least for me.

Overall I put 10 just because of how I put it for two prior categories.

Best Characters: I have a tie between FE7,8 and 9. Each one had characters that were fantastic on their own ways,but I am unable to decide which one is "The One".

Best Story: Again, a little tie, but this time between FE4 and FE9. Both stories are fantastic and engaging and choosing between them is hard, but, just for the sake of answering, I will go with FE9.

Best Gameplay: This question is now a bit harder. Both FE5 and FE10 have and engaging gameplay. The Capture option from FE5 and the new skill system from the Tellus saga are a few examples, along with variety of objectives which spice up the game and make it less monotonous. I vote for FE5 for now, but FE10 is just near the first spot, just by a hair.

Best Overall: FE10. This one was easy, Good story(not as good as FE9, but it was good), fantastic gameplay, good characters(but the support system, oh my god...), and it works perfectly as a sequel for FE9, continuing its story and having a good replayability value.
