Gradivus.
C19 5/60 turns Guy and Lowen promoted. Went through the lower part of the map. Guy got the Torch staff on turn 2, got ferried by Lowen and engaged Uhai on turn 4 EP, turn 5 PP and turn 5 EP, 3HKOing with Longsword. He needed 2 dodges at 64 hit once and 44 hit twice. The rest just self-improved. C19x 6/66 turns Not having a good bosskiller sucks. Lowen and Guy charged ahead, with Hector getting dropped on turn 4. IIRC I needed to use both PP5 and PP6 to kill Aion. C20 5/71 turns Lowen charged ahead, clearing out most enemies. Hector didn't get ferried, opened the door on turn 4, with Lowen charging into the throne room. Lowen with Armorslayer (could've used heavy spear) + Dart with Hammer killed Darin. Dart also got the Cameron kill. Erk just went alongside Hector's gang and self-improved. Guy got the Silver Bow and Brave Bow. C21 2/73 turns Lowen dropped Dart into Oleg's range on turn 1 and killed a fighter that stood in the way on turn 2. Dart hit Oleg back with Hand Axe on EP1 and doubled him with Iron Axe on turn 2. Erk got danced to get the bosskill. Guy used the Arena once and won. Topazd
C17 10/52 I spent way too much time on this one. There were a couple bad hitrates (Dorcas had to hit a myrm twice at 58 disp hit (lol) and the boss hitrates were also FE6 tier) but for the most part this was reliable. Dorcas took care of the myrm, the merc, one archer, one nomad and the lower dark mage. After Dorcas had killed the dark mage, Matthew retrieved the Knight Crest. Kent@Javelin ferried Hector@Hand Axe for much of the map. On turn 9 PP Hector attacked the boss with a Hand Axe (disgusting hitrates but only 2 out of 4 attacks had to hit, fortunately). By turn 10PP he was weakened enough for Kent to kill him with the Heavy Spear. Raven had weakened the thief on turn 9 and defeated him on the last turn, getting the Hero Crest. I don't want to have Dorcas fight myrmidons ever again. I like that +3 speed of his though. [spoiler=Stats] Hector (15.71) 31hp/17str/9skl/12spd/8lck/13def/1res Dorcas (10.55) 37hp/11str/10skl/10spd/4lck/5def/1res Kent (9.87) 26hp/10str/9skl/11spd/4lck/8def/2res Raven (6.19) 26hp/9str/11skl/14spd/2lck/5def/1res C17x - 4/56 I might've been able to get 3 turns with some rigging, but this seemed a fairly simple and reliable way. Florina visited the Canas village on turn 1, and Canas ran towards Merlinus to avoid meatshielding of any kind. Kent and Dorcas dealt with the enemy mage and dark mage from afar, Hector moved near Dorcas and Raven proceeded to a forest tile. Raven cleared the way for Kent on turn 3, and he was able to reach Fargus on turn 4. I got the Short Bow and Sleep staff on top of Canas and his items. [spoiler=Stats] Hector (17.66) 32hp/17str/11skl/14spd/8lck/14def/2res Dorcas (11.94) 38hp/12str/10skl/10spd/4lck/5def/1res Kent (10.74) 26hp/10str/9skl/11spd/4lck/8def/3res Raven (7.17) 26hp/10str/11skl/15spd/2lck/5def/1res C18 - 3/59 Pretty straightforward, Kent rescuedropped Dorcas a few tiles from the boss and Dorcas ORKOed him on turn 3. Florina did some shopping, Raven was fed a couple of mercs. [spoiler=Stats] Hector (17.66) 32hp/17str/11skl/14spd/8lck/14def/2res Dorcas (13.08) 40hp/12str/11skl/10spd/5lck/5def/2res Kent (11.51) 27hp/10str/9skl/11spd/4lck/9def/3res Raven (8.39) 27hp/10str/11skl/15spd/3lck/5def/2res C19 - 5/64 I hate Uhai. Gave the Secret Book to Kent. Also promoted him and Dorcas (might be a lost cause but at least bows give him good 2-range accuracy for the time being). Raven took on the enemies on the right, where Hector also helped a little. Dorcas cut down the snags to clear the way for Kent. Defeated Uhai with Horseslayerx2 + Longsword. I also realized how ridiculous my Hector's speed is. Seems like the trend for this run. [spoiler=Stats] Hector (18.22) 32hp/17str/12skl/15spd/8lck/15def/3res Dorcas (1.72) 43hp/13str/13skl/10spd/5lck/8def/5res Kent (2.57) 30hp/12str/13skl/12spd/4lck/11def/5res Raven (9.87) 28hp/10str/11skl/16spd/3lck/5def/3res Fiora (7.48) 21hp/8str/11skl/13spd/6lck/6def/7res C19x - 4/68 Fiora is pretty neat. She had to dodge one Bolting at ~50 disp hit to survive. She isn't bulky enough to pull a 3-turn clear, though. She dropped Hector on a mountain on turn 2. On turn 3, Hector ORKOed Aion with a Hand Axe and seized the following turn. The others managed to get some exp, and Florina also retrieved the Goddess Icon. [spoiler=Stats] Hector (20.--) 34hp/18str/13skl/15spd/8lck/16def/4res Dorcas (1.89) 43hp/13str/13skl/10spd/5lck/8def/5res Kent (3.33) 31hp/12str/13skl/12spd/4lck/12def/5res Raven (10.22) 29hp/11str/11skl/17spd/4lck/5def/3res Fiora (7.88) 21hp/8str/11skl/13spd/6lck/6def/7res C20 - 5/73 I only managed to get Luna out of all the treasures. Unfortunately had to rig Kent a Heavy Spear crit (5 disp crit) for this to work. I guess Dorcas could've helped with the Darin kill, if I didn't need him to clear the way for Fiora to retrieve Luna. [spoiler=Stats] Hector (20.--) 34hp/18str/13skl/15spd/8lck/16def/4res Dorcas (2.21) 44hp/14str/14skl/10spd/6lck/8def/5res Kent (5.32) 32hp/14str/15skl/13spd/5lck/13def/5res Raven (11.07) 30hp/12str/12skl/17spd/5lck/5def/3res Fiora (7.99) 21hp/8str/11skl/13spd/6lck/6def/7res C21 - 2/75 Some slight rescuechaining to make Matthew capable of stealing the Hero Crest (for Raven) from Oleg on turn 2. Hector was rescuedropped to Oleg's range on turn 1. On turn 2, Kent, Fiora and Dorcas cleared the way for Matthew. Hector got the bosskill. Eliwood shopped a bit and Florina visited the two left villages. Kent also got D axes. [spoiler=Stats] Hector (20.--) 34hp/18str/13skl/15spd/8lck/16def/4res Dorcas (2.34) 44hp/14str/14skl/10spd/6lck/8def/5res Kent (5.79) 32hp/14str/15skl/13spd/5lck/13def/5res Raven (11.07) 30hp/12str/12skl/17spd/5lck/5def/3res Fiora (8.79) 22hp/8str/12skl/14spd/6lck/6def/7res Ninian (1.21) base C22 - 4/79 Could've gotten 3 turns with a Hand Axe crit, but I got both the Brave Axe and 10,000G this way. Ninian danced Kent so he'd get a good head start and he ran towards Eubans. Dorcas, Fiora and Raven went left, killed the Fighter, Thief and Heath and got both treasure chests. Kent attacked Eubans with Hand Axe on turn 3 PP and EP and finished with Horseslayer on turn 4. Sniper Knight
Gotcha. *shakes fist at reinforcements* Ironically, it wasn't Oswin taking damage that forced me to restart, since there was no way he could've left the enemies' range with his 4 move, it was me not realizing that to get 13x, I needed to visit the village. And then realizing I had to replay 14-16. Joy. And then being unable to 4-turn C14 again even though I did so on my first playthrough without the levels from 13x. I'm playing on GBA4ios, which makes writing all this up difficult since I didn't take enough screenshots and don't remember everything that I did. Chapter 11- 6/6 turns. Went left. Hector and Matt both had dreadful levels. Matt lockpicked a few doors, Hector hand-axed some guys. Pretty generic clear. No Red Gem, obviously. Chapter 12- 4/11 turns. HandAxe!Hector went southwest and missed a lot, though he pulled an impressive hit on a Merc. Matt followed and dodged all except the PKs. Serra stayed in a tree for a while before leaving to do healing. Bartre traded to Lowen who traded to Marcus, who equipped a Hand Axe and moved north. Eliwood sold his items. Oswin trudged slowly, slowly down to the Armory. Secret Book get. Marcus killed Zagan. Would have 4-turned if Hector hadn’t missed that brigand twice, but didn’t feel like restarting for one turn. I’ll probably regret that later. Hector still solidly refuses to get skill (and also speed, but I’m more concerned about his atrocious hit rates. Doubling comes with time). EDIT: Actually 4-turned this time. Hector hit the brigand twice, but he missed the merc, who Marcus killed. Chapter 13- 7/17 This was such a pain to replay while hitting the Northern village and still six-turning. I'm still in tears. Gave Dorcas’s Iron Axe to Hector. Had Hector move in range of the PK. Moved everyone Marcus, Matt, and Serra southwest. Set up a rescue chain with Dorcas, Oswin, and Lowen. Killed PK on PP 2. Initiated rescue chain and had Lowen follow Marcus, Matt, and Serra. Matt recruited Guy, who traded his Killing Edge to Serra. Guy took damage from Marcus and couldn't leave the HandAxe!Brigand's reach so he was targeted instead of Lowen. (Such cheese.) He also hit the Mine village. Bartre visited the Merlinus Village. Lowen gave Hector to Marcus who dropped him at the boss a turn later. On EP, the boss attacked WolfBeil!Hector. Marcus hand-axed the boss and Hector seized. Hector still has neither speed nor skill. EDIT: Had to forego the rescue chain, took an extra turn luring the PK out with Hector, who could ORKO with Wolf Beil. Serra did a miraculous amount of dodging like the gorgeous dodge tank she will soon be. I’m glad my turn counts stayed the same in the long run. Chapter 13x- 7/24 Put Oswin, Lowen, Dorcas, and Bartre on meatshielding duty. Sent drafted units northwest. Decided to forego the village. Hector got speed and skill (!) in the same level up before killing Puzon. Matt also got a phenomenal HP/Str/Skl/Spd/Luck. *sheds a tear* (Now, if only I could get a little bit of defense…) Chapter 14- 4/28 Finally, preparations! Marcus got a Javelin, Matt got a Killing Edge, and Hector got the other Hand Axe. Started everyone in near the lower bridge. Matt went east to take of the two soldiers near Merlinus and started with another phenomenal level and then followed Hector. Marcus went west and Hector went southwest. Let Erk take some of the north, but didn’t bother recruiting him. Used Serra to lure out enemies near Priscilla’s village (no recruitment). Hector had a horrible level, but at least he had skill. (As opposed to only HP or Str, so I can’t complain too much, I guess.) Lowen went to the Shop to buy a Heal for Serra, in case later shops would prove to be inefficient. This chapter was horribly frustrating- I know there was a way to four-turn it. I had one brigand left with 7 HP after attacking Hector on enemy phase. I replayed it several times, but I always ended up being just short of a four-turn, and I really wanted to move on with my life. Still… there was a way, damn it. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ EDIT: I four-turned, yay! Matt just had to RN abuse the Killing Edge. Didn’t get the staves though. *puts table pack* I was going to write up my replays of C15 and C16 as well, but I still have stuff to do tonight and I’m late enough as it is. Nifty little statbox, yay! [spoiler=Stats] Name: Lv.XP HP STR SKL SPD LCK DEF RES Weapon Lv. Topazd
@PanneKnight Can undrafted units rescue drafted/free units though? It's not explicitly stated as forbidden but that's how I always interpreted it. Not all that big of a deal but I want to clarify it for myself for future reference. Sniper Knight
@PanneKnight Can undrafted units rescue drafted/free units though? It's not explicitly stated as forbidden but that's how I always interpreted it. Not all that big of a deal but I want to clarify it for myself for future reference. I assume they can, I've seen it done on a couple of drafts before, though I'm not sure if said drafts operated on outdated rulesets. EDIT: 1. Undrafted units may recruit characters, rescue undrafted units and NPCs, trade, visit Villages, Shops and Armories, and dig up items in the desert. 2. Undrafted units may not do anything not listed above, including but not limited to meatshielding, building Supports, opening Doors or Chests, talking to Fargus in Chapter 17x, or Seizing Castles in Chapter 25. I don't think they can, actually, the rules say that they can't do anything but rescue undrafted units and NPCs. Would this garner the four-turn penalty, then? If so, I'd have to take an extra turn on C13, maybe two if I'm unlucky/don't feel like manipulating RNs. If I replay C14 and get that extra turn back, I'd lose between one and two turns. Don't know if it's worth replaying 13-15 again, which I just finished. In all honestly, it wouldn't take that long to replay, I'm just busy and very lazy. Does anyone have an opinion? In which PanneKnight's noobness gets her rekt. Edited July 30, 2015 by PanneKnight
Lopey
Although it isn't on the not do list the list states that "Undrafted units may not anything not listed above, including but not limited to …" So I'd say no, undrafted units cannot rescue drafted units but IDK. Sniper Knight
It's your call. (Unless we do some kind of democratic system where everyone votes but this is Serenes so...) Replaying wouldn't bother me too much, I suppose, so I'll just do that.
Gradivus.
undrafted units mustn't rescue drafted / free ones, though the opposite is allowed I think. C22 3/76 turns Lowen rescues Dart and goes towards Eubans through the right door. He drops Dart on turn 2 (Rath killed a Wyvern Rider in the way), who 2RKOes Eubans on turn 3 PP + EP. Erk just killed Heath, the Thief and the Fighter in the left room since he desperately needs exp due to his mag screwage.
Topazd
C23 - 4/83 The bosses are troublesome, but I didn't have to rig at all, oddly enough. At the end of turn 3 EP, only one enemy dracoknight lived with 6HP remaining, so if I didn't want to grab Filla's Might and wanted to rig it, 3 turns would be achievable. Anyhow, promoted Raven (should have done this earlier) and Rescuedropped him left towards Paul with Fiora. Kent took all the enemies on the grassy portion, Fiora and Dorcas also took out a few. Pent took care of Jasmine and the upper enemies. Only got Filla's Might. Hector recruited Hawkeye to get the Killer Axe. I'm glad Raven can use Steel Axes from the get-go, this wouldn't have worked otherwise. Fiora rescuedropped Kent to the right over the lake. Dorcas rescued Ninian to protect her from the pegs. Hector and Raven moved towards Pascal's position. Fiora took on the pirates with an Iron Sword. Raven had to take out lots of enemies to ensure only 1 cavalier (the fort reinforcement) would obstruct the way to the gate. He needed the Steel Axe to ORKO them and he also had to chug down an Elixir to survive. Hector took out the cav on the way and everyone got to their respective tiles on turn 4. Topazd
Alright, so I managed to finish the run! C27 7/107 I'm generally really bad at rout chapters, I was legitimately surprised to get even this low. C28 15/122 Moar exp. C29 6/128 My weapon usages were really low so I had to make a slight detour with Fiora to buy Pent some Elfires asap. Might have been able to save a turn otherwise, I don't know. Still, even though the tc is comparatively bad I'm frankly satisfied to achieve even that, the chapter being a rather massive rout map. C30 5/133 Wish I had rigged mag for Pent, could have saved a turn with slightly more warp range. C31 11/144 Exp again. C31x 5/149 Tons of shopping, Vaida and Fiora also made use of the arena. C32 5/154 Regrettably I had no decent ferry for Hector so I had to use the boots on him earlier. Pent warped him around and he Killer Axe'd Limstella on turn 4 PP and EP. C32x 1/155 Killer Axe!Hector. Final 3+1/159 The first part was really impulsive and not very reliable. Pent warped Athos to kill Nergal with a Luna crit. The second was Athos doing what Athos do. Gradivus.
C23 3/79 turns Erk took most of the bottom part of the map, Dart first engaged the right part alongside Rath and then promoted via Ocean seal and did nothing special afterwards. Rath just self-improved. Florina dropped NPC!Hawkeye into Paul's range on turn 3. He counterkills a Wyvern Rider and killer crits Paul. Pent 3HKOes Jasmine between NPC phase 2, EP3 and NPC 3. Didn't get Genesis. Only got the Body Ring and Ocean seal. C24 1/80 turns promoted Erk since I wanted to build his staff rank (his stats, especially mag, are sucking hard though). He healed Rath who killed a monk. Danced Dart onto the fort 7 tiles below Lloyd. Since a Myrmidon is 2 tiles above it, Lloyd is forced into melee range and gets counterkilled with a killer axe crit. Sniper Knight
Am I allowed to exploit the "undrafted units can take damage if unequipped and unable to leave enemy range" rule? As in, placing Oswin so that when reinforcements spawn, he has no choice but to be attacked? Also, how does that work with FoW? Gradivus.
meatshielding is allowed in C13x anyway, and I don't recall any other FoW map with forced deployment, so you're allowed to have him tank hits. Sniper Knight
I'm actually talking about C20, which has FoW. There's no rule against deploying undrafted units (unless I misread the rules again), so if I deploy Oswin without being able to see where enemies are and have him take hits, I get get Florina some desperately needed EXP without needing to take extra turns to heal her repeatedly or to rig for enemies nomads to miss. Is that allowed? Or is it against drafting etiquette? Personally, I think it sounds like cheesing, but I'd rather not take extra turns somewhere for Florina to get levels, since she's incredibly weak right now. Gradivus.
FoW doesn't negate the rule against meatshielding, considering Matthew lets you see the nearby enemies (and you could just unfield Oswin since he's not contributing anything within the rules). I recall taking extra turns for self-improvement sometimes too, in a slightly different context (I postponed Kent's promotion by a bunch of maps in the Marcus not free draft so he gets better stats before he promotes, even though the higher move could've shaved turns on the maps I opted against promoting, for example), it shouldn't be too big a deal. (also, you must mean C19. C20 doesn't have FoW and C21 doesn't have nomads.) Edited August 16, 2015 by Gradivus.
Lopey
Sorry for not posting, I can't figure out a way to beat the chapter I'm on in a reasonable amount of turns, but PannneKnight I don't think that Oswin would do anything in that chapter and you can just use the internet or Matthew to see where the enemies are so that would be considered meatshielding. Sniper Knight
I was going for finishing C20 by this weekend, but I think I’ll replay C19 and C20 for better turncounts, since I spent a little too long leveling Florina. Also, I fixed the turncounts on my first post, if anyone cares. Chapter 15- 7/35 Matt went for the chests, followed by Serra. Hector defended up north, Marcus killed Sealen. I just noticed that Sealen has the same sprite as Oleg from C20. Matt got another lockpick. Chapter 16- 6/41 Yay, Florina! And Wil. They’re both pretty weak, Florina especially, since no Lyn Mode. Freely abused free Lyn, Sain, and Kent. That wasn’t intentional; I’m just too tired to actually think of adjectives. Last chapter of free Marcus, though. Sain and Wil took southwest; Kent and Lyn took most of the east. Flor picked off enemies left over by Matt. Matt began his initiation into the league of dodge machines last chapter, so Serra stuck by Flor, who desperately needed a healer to accompany her. On EP 1, Flor levelled and proc’d everything but luck, :’). Marcus ferried Hector, who Wolf Beil’d on EP 5 and seized on PP 6. This chapter was surprisingly fun, since I gave zero fucks about conserving Mani Katti uses, and Lyn just crit-stormed her way through enemies. Thank god for HNM giving us steel weapons. Chapter 17- 10/51 Wil, I shit you not, critted the first myrmidon on a 2% and got speed in his level. There is hope yet. I had to take an extra turn to allow Florina to kill Raven for a little more EXP, and another one since Hector!Flor needed to stay behind Serra so enemies wouldn’t target her. Matt had a beautiful level with everything but res. His strength is still looking irritatingly low, though. Right now, I’m wondering if the Unlock staff would have been worth the extra turns required for it. I could have gotten Matt to steal a Door Key to give to Wil, then sent him to the southern room. Without Wil picking off enemies that threatened Flor, I’m thinking ~3 extra turns? I’m not sure how many turns Unlock would have saved though, since I drafted Matthew, after all. Chapter 17x- 4/55 Why are you such a huge bitch, 17x? Put Serra up front so that everyone would target her, then had to rig a little since they had ~50% on her. I got everything except the Lancereaver, somehow. Flor talked to Fargus. Chapter 18- 3/58 This chapter was awful. Flor couldn’t survive two Lunas, so I had her rescue Serra and drop her on PP2, and then Matthew had to rescue Serra and dodge the Shamans on PP3 with rescue penalty, and I couldn’t get the Guiding Ring. Serra’s still pretty far away from promoting, so I can pick up another one somewhere else, and I’m pretty good on funds, since I sold all my gems. Marcus bought several extra Heals. Also why does Wil have 11 speed and 7 strength what is happening I’m so confused? Florina is also doing great in defense. [spoiler=stats] Name: Lv.XP HP STR SKL SPD LCK DEF RES Weapon Lv. Sniper Knight
Once upon a time I wrote relatively thorough summaries. Chapter 19- 4/62 Fiora sacrificed herself for the greater good. Florina rescued Hector and killed Uhai with Heavy Spears and Wolf Beils. I had to rig for Flor to dodge some Nomads. Chapter 19x- 5/67 This was great. Flor can dodge Bolting even with rescue penalty now, and can double Bolting!Aion with a Slim Lance. Beautiful. Chapter 20- 6/73 This is where that Unlock would’ve been really nice. Still kinda regret not getting it. I had to wait a few turns to steal Guiding Ring from Legault, so I took the opportunity to level Wil a bit. Didn’t get the Brave Bow, unfortunately, but I don’t think it would have shaved too many turns anyways, since speed blessed SteelBow!Wil can do pretty much what speed screwed BraveBow!Wil can do. Matt’s Killing Edge finally broke, but I’m surprised it lasted this long anyways. But damn, that was a useful Killing Edge. Chapter 21- 3/76 Hello again, Sealen. I just had to be stupid enough to pick Florina and Heath, didn’t I? I can’t chain until after C22, and I have to get two Elysian Whips. Good job, me. I had the most difficult time of my life getting Marcus to the village without having him be attacked. Serra got a pretty nice level from spamming Torches. Wil’s speed remains level with his level. I remain as unfunny as ever. Chapter 22- 3/79 Florina promoted at level 17, which isn’t bad. Wil got to 15.99, but I wanted to promote him at 17 anyways. I’m a little worried about Serra though, but an early promotion for her should be fine, since her main utility will be Warping and dodge-tanking, and she has a high enough luck growth that promoting early shouldn’t hurt too much. Chapter 23- 4/83 Wasn’t this supposed to have FoW? I was going to get Serra extra EXP from Torching here, but that doesn’t look like it’s happening. *rolls up sleeves* Barrier spamming it is, then. Serra’s really underlevelled right now; I probably should’ve healed a bit more with her earlier. I’m pretty sure the extra BEXP gained by promoted healers should make up for it, though. Matthew was one tile away from reaching the Body Ring and Ninian was needed elsewhere, but I don’t think it’s too necessary. Chapter 24- 2/85 Wil aggro’d Lloyd with help from Ninian. Heath got bosskill. Serra got Afa’s Drops, Torched a lot, and levelled. Chapter 25- 4/89 Heath got a Barrier and covered the Northeast, Florina covered the Southwest. Everyone else went north.
