Praedyth
So I thought I could wait for Fates to come out in the US but i definitely cant. I have been slowly dying without it XD But I am having a lot of trouble deciding the way I should get it. I don't want to pirate it at all, never been a fan of it. I know there is a wonderful team that is working on a patch but it only works on firmware 9.2 and im on 9.9 D: I'm actually okay at reading japanese, its a bit of a struggle but I would prefer to not to if I can help it. So I'm wondering if I should wait for the game to come out in the US, get a japanese 3DS with 9.2 firmware to get the translation, or just punch through with the japanese. Any ideas? Thanks in advance guys :)
Alex95
I'm not a fan of pirating either, but you know the saying? "Good things come to those who wait." If you prefer playing the game officially in English, and if you don't wanna spend even more money on a Japanese 3DS, then your best bet is to wait. NekoKnight
Buy the game in Japanese. You'll be supporting the company that makes the games you enjoy and you won't have to spend a ton of money on another 3DS. Or wait for the English release, if you.d enjoy it more in your own language.
Ryo
People have been uploading playthrough videos with the translation patch on Youtube, so if you don't understand anything you can just check those out.
mimasho
buy the game and punch through the Japanese. You can do it ヽ(o♡o)/ Also, there's still no confirmation date on exactly when the localized version will come out in 2016... I mean, it's unlikely, but for all we know, it could come out in December 2016 and you'd have to wait over a year for it then ~

They wouldn't announce it otherwise. Even Xenoblade's sequel and SMTxFE will come out earlier than that. But...lol I couldn't wait either. But...thank god that I had a Japanese 3DS so I didn't have to spend a ton of money to play the game! I'm now just waiting for the NFC reader device and other DLC episodes before I continue. But...anyway do the Nohr route first. Definitely. If you can beat it, the rest of the game will be easy.
Auro Astum
Do know that you do not need a Japanese 3ds to play Japanese games if you do not mind setting up homebrew. Look up tubehax and go from there, you can buy a route on cartridge for a little over $40 on amazon. This method does lock you out of dlc though and you can't use the English patch without the right firmware.
