RedRob
Hello, I'm RedRob, and I've recently decided to join after reading you guys debate about the various aspects of Fire Emblem for, a year or two? I honestly don't remember when I first found this place. My introduction to the series was Awakening, which I at first enjoyed, but upon reading this forum, I realized how bad a game it was, and have gotten bored with it. (It's also the only game I played, hence why it's as my "favorite" Something you should know about me is that I'm a casual and pay more attention to story than gameplay, as my gaming skills are about average. I'm also not, let's say "financially independent", and thus most games series I like, I like for the stories, and have never really played them before. That said, if anyone could kindly tell me where I could pick up other installments of FE, so I can play them and get a better understanding of what makes a good FE game, I would appreciate it. I also frequent TvTropes, so expect me to speak in trope-speak from time to time, and for some reason, like reading debates. Hope to make some friends here, so see you all later. Radiance
Pleased to meet you as well. We're all cool on these forums. GBA games you can use an emulator. FE9 is a really good one, but it is pricey and I have not played it. I played Radiant Dawn. I would say play FE9 or the GBA because I love them. Awakening was fun, story was whatever, but it was fun. Have a good time here. Edited January 9, 2016 by Radiance

Ycine
Welcome to the Forest, RedRob! Pleased to meet you too! You want to play FE? I highly recommend you to try out the GBA Series (FE 6,7 and 8). That's my opinion of course. FE 9 and 10 was solid too but my favorite goes for the GBA Series. Anyway, have a nice day and enjoy your stay! Deviddo
Welcome to the forums, RedRob. A few of the Fire Emblem games are on the Wii U Virtual Console, so you might want to check that out.
RedRob
Unfortunately for me, I only have a 2DS, a DS, and a regular old Wii, so I'm out of luck on getting any FE games on the WiiU. I also don't know how to use or get an emulator, as I kind of clueless when it comes to tech. Though I just looked it up on google, and as far as I can tell, an emulator is used to run a ROM, which seems to be illegal judging from SF's CoC. Could anyone clear this up for me as I don't want to do anything I could get in trouble for.
Deviddo
Emulators and roms are in a weird loophole. They're illegal but no one's really going to come after you for playing them. I remember reading somewhere that they don't mind if you emulate a game for 24 hours, then it's illegal? It'd probably be better to just look up the legal specifics of it. Short answer: Yes, it's illegal.
