Eph route spawns you in a different spot in the desert, and I have Vanessa to ferry someone up to kill Caellach, so the desert isn't an issue. For the first bunch of turns, I just had Tethys advance on her own while dancing things, but once I was past the Cav reinforcements near the treasure, I could spare an action on Ewan to drop Tethys ahead. This let me drop Gerik off on turn 8 and give Amelia to Ewan on turn 9 using L'arachel, and had him drop her near the throne. Turn 10, Gerik got danced to finish off Gheb with a KE crit after 2 Fire hits from Ewan. Dozla fended off the shaman reinforcements. Got Ephraim for the speedwing. Gerik entered the monster ship through the bottom bridge and oddly was a very common target for monsters. He counterkilled most of them with Hand Axe (on turn 3, helping against Bow!Bonewalkers, and on the two last turns to pick up scraps effectively) and Silver Sword (to counterkill that 57 HP entombed). The rest covered took the upper bridge, Ewan helped out there and returned to the left ship to take on the flying reinforcements. Amelia killed most of the eyeballs above the middle ship. Posted January 24, 2016 Share Posted January 24, 2016 (edited) It's exclusive to the spot in the recruitment roster he's usually in i.e. the units that are in Knoll's and Ewan's initial spot can summon if they're summoners, so basically if you get Summoner!Vanessa and Summoner!Colm (I think he replaces Ewan?), they can do it. Gave Tethys to him on turn 2 using Dozla and he dropped her ahead. Turn 3, Gerik killed a mage that was in the way because he had a KE equipped and got danced, Ewan killed a Shaman blocking the way to the boss and Gerik double KE critted him with roughly 15.5% chance of success. Amelia, L'arachel and Joshua just went left to self-improve a bit. Posted January 31, 2016 Share Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) Found a way to make her a paladin, oddly the falcoknight thing only occurs for female paladins, so changing the promo path to male paladin solves it. Here's a patch changing it: http://www.file-upload.net/download-11264633/FE8RREphRoutepromofix.ips.html She keeps the female aid formula and the promotion gains are only slightly different (the female cav/recruit 2 -> paladin gains are supposed to be 2 spd/1 def/2 res). C13 5/63 turns Promoted Amelia to Paladin if that's legit (I assume it is but I have a save file without it just in case). Gerik dropped Ewan across the river with Tethys' help on turn 1 and killed the sleep staff!troubadour on turn 2. Afterwards, he approached Selena and killed her with hand axes on turns 3 and 4. Turn 5, he killed a knight. Ewan made his way down to the snag, broke it on turn 4 and cleaned up the enemies below it on turn 5. Joshua went left to kill the fighters, Cavs and the knight there, he also killed 2 Cavs near the barrier village. Amelia went right with Tethys' help and killed the soldiers, cavs, fighters, the reinforcement brigands and the sniper. Dozla took Boltings on turns 1-3 so L'arachel can spam recover and killed the lone mage that starts near the Talisman village. Didn't get barrier and could've gotten it by passing up on a turn, but I don't think it would save any turns anyway. Ewan protected L'arachel from the myrms while she warped people around randomly (Gerik got warped near the warrior to get axe exp that very doubtfully might matter, I don't think he'll hit Garm though). She then hammerned the warp staff. Forgot to field Seth since I didn't see him in the deployment roster, oh well. Not like I'm restarting as L'arachel procced mag 4 times. I then hammerned the warp and used it to warp Seth down so he can help Joshua and Syrene (turn 3) and then go kill remaining eggs in the centre-east area, and to warp Eirika to the centre-east area to kill an egg (turn 4). L'arachel then rescued her up again to get enough firepower in the NE corner. I just barely managed to kill all eggs, it's hard to describe precisely since the plan is basically just kill eggs and get rid of active enemies on EP. L'arachel hammerne'd the warp staff after moving next to Seth, who dropped Tethys ahead beforehand. Syrene flew left to lure a gargoyle away from blocking a necessary tile in the boss area. Turn 2, Seth gave L'arachel the warp staff and Gerik and Ewan killed 2 enemies in the way. L'arachel then warped Amelia over the mountain, got picked up by Syrene and dropped within Tethys' dancing range. She then got danced and warped Joshua near the castle too, having just enough range for those. Joshua Audhulma critted Morva with a 42.25% chance and Amelia seized. Turn 2, Ewan sniped an archmogall behind a formation with excalibur, Amelia siegmund'ed a bonewalker in the way, allowing for Lyon to be attacked from 2 tiles. Gerik and Joshua were warped up to make use of that, with Gerik landing 2 garm hits and Joshua double critting with the Audhulma, for a 4.8% success chance. F-2 1/90 turns Apparently I was a fool when I deleted Seth's S Swd, I should've removed Lances so he could use the Audhulma here. Rescued Gerik up and danced Joshua (could've done it vice versa, it doesn't matter). Gerik did 24x2 dmg with Garm, Amelia 20 with Siegmund and Seth 12 with Vidofnir, bringing Fomortiis down to 40 HP. Joshua only did 18*2 dmg with Audhulma, so I had to get a 22.3% chance crit. Had I kept S Swd on Seth and tradechained Audhulma with Syrene, the kill would've been almost perfectly reliable. Oh well. [spoiler=Units] 97B 62W Her stats were slightly meh, but good enough considering almost all mooks in this game are weak defensively and she has good prfs. 28B 18W Did bosskilling and important ferrying tasks in the earlygame and took filler roles in lategame. She still came in handy for being my only flier, and she could actually double things as a wyvern knight with killer lance so her combat wasn't completely bad. 9B 5W I think C4 is just the right time to start having her banned. She helps a lot in the first 4 chapters in preventing Syrene solo from being necessary and generally helping other units out for kills, but would probably be too good from C4 on given her huge exp gain. 155B 122W He was really good. His huge HP and very solid def made him almost unkillable and he ORKOed everything in the earlygame with a steel sword or iron blade. Once he got his hero crest, he could start using hand axes to wreck face at 1-2 range. His 15 con were slightly problematic here and there, since the only mounted unit that can rescue him was Ewan, but 6 mov was decent enough, and Ewan would mostly have been the best unit to ferry him with anyway. 20B 0W Dancer/50 176B 154W His killcount being higher than Gerik's is a result of him being my only unit with good move and 1-2 range combat (lol @ Javelin!Syrene) before Gerik and Amelia promoted. The frontline work he had to do in C7-10 and afterwards was fairly intensive. Magic brought the advantages of having good hitrates no matter what weapon the enemy has and hitting res and thus not having any trouble with stuff like knights. 42B 18W Came in handy earlygame, did almost nothing later on. 16B 2W At first her mag sucked and her exp gain was poor, but she managed to remedy it by spamming warp in lategame and sort of barely hit warp range benchmarks. Ended up saving quite a number of turns, and didn't do much, if any worse than other warp users (I guess having bad mag in C16 costs a turn). 74B 50W AUDHULMA CRITS: 6 His offense was good, but overkill against mooks and he had slight trouble with his swordlock and 6 mov. In lategame, he could actually be ferried by Amelia, which along with his swordmaster crit + Audhulma made him important for multiple bosskills. 17B 10W Did work in the desert and was the only one with enough aid to help Ewan drop Gerik ahead in final so I can warp him far enough. Not a bad 6th pick. 9B 7W Extra manpower is pretty useful in C18, he came in handy for rescuing in C20 and could've made the demon king kill reliable had I not made the weapon rank mistake. He doesn't help as much against Fomortiis as Myrrh does, but I still think he's the best unit to make free in vanilla!Myrrh's place. 4B 4W Killed Gorgon eggs. Edited April 9, 2016 by Gradivus.
