Liz
and i just found out the "curse" part of being double jointed. being double jointed in my fingers makes it hard to play guitar. i have to press hard on the strings in order to make a good sound, and since i'm double jointed, by pressing hard my fingers get stuck in that position, making it hard to change from chord to chord i have an accoustic guitar, btw
Dr. Tarrasque
At least you can play it and being double jointed is just making it harder and not impossible.
Liz
At least you can play it and being double jointed is just making it harder and not impossible. but it's still annoying to try to move my fingers and not being able to because they're stuck
Dr. Tarrasque
I know and I agree, that is unfortunate. I'm just saying, look at the bright side. I wish I could play any instrument but that's just not happening :\ Edited October 14, 2008 by ThunderMan
Steven Tyler
Oh great not another one! I got a friend who's a bass player and he's double jointed. Can you place your arms behind your back?

Wist
That must be incredibly annoying. I cannot move my little fingers laterally more than a couple of degrees which makes conventional typing difficult and also restricts the number of hotkeys I can use efficiently in StarCraft, but I think your problem would be more of a hindrance than mine. Dr. Tarrasque
I've tried and I don't seem to get good. If anything, there's a couple of things I've tried where I started like a pro but got worse as I kept trying. I'm not touching music... I've got no inspiration for it since all you hear in NY is just rap and hip hop which I hate -_-.

Wist
I can move my little fingers towards my palm and back, but they cannot move sideways unless I pull them with other fingers (and it hurts to do so). It would appear that we are at opposite extremes of a spectrum in regard to finger flexibility. I have a very tough time playing the piano, but luckily that hasn't interested me for quite a while. When I played music I played the drums (or small wind instruments when I was a kid, my large hands compensate enough). Do you play any other instruments?
