kantoorfarina
It isn't marked on this site's FE11 World Map page, so is Altea a small part of Akaneia or is it it's own country, but not big enough to be marked on the map like Akaneia and Grust? Hardin
Altea is indeed an independent nation, I'm not sure why it's not marked, but it's the island just west of Gra.
MCProductions
Altea=Aritia iirc

kantoorfarina
How does Marth sail straight to Talys from Altea when they're that far away and there's no straight route? Anyway, thanks. I was asking because I was thinking it would be cool if there was a huge open world FE game like Skyrim that took place in FE1's continent and you can choose where you start off. That's all I can think of. Either that, or the Archenea seas are full of warp points and a wizard did it.
Julius Nepos
I guess he went around Dolhr? That's all I can think of. I think so too, but it seems really off. He'd have to sail through Doluna- and Gra-controlled waters, then pass by Akaneia, Warren and Pyrathi just to get to Talys. That sounds like a really dangerous journey to make. Yeah, it's very strange. The geography could have been thought out better...
Hardin
Most of the Gra army had laid siege to Altea castle and Warren and Pyrathi were neutral ground so it doesn't seem too terribly impossible. The Grustian army was also focused on the capital of Archanea which is closer to the eastern coast, so Marth did have a narrow window to escape through. Jotari
Seems like it would have been better to switch Gra and Altea's location to make Altea closer to Archanea and Talys. But I suppose they wanted him to it Joel before liberating his own country during the actual course of the game. Man now I'm wishing Shadow Dragon extended that prologue section into a full book 0 about Marth's perilous journey to Talys.
Jagen
Wow, I never really noticed just how far Marth fled at the start of the war of Shadows. No wonder no one ever found him until he went out of the way to revealed himself
SalShich10N
heh, if you compare the map to Awakening's, Altea is now on Plegian territory, which is owned by descendants of Dohlr. This must make Anri roll in his grave. I must wonder, though, how in hell does Altea has so many good relations with Talys at all, they're literally on opposite sides of the map.
