EclipseXIV
Does anyone know a good tool to use for making custom GBA FE sprites? I want to make an icon for myself as well as for the characters in my WIP project. Thanks! Edited December 29, 2016 by EclipseXIV
Zane Avernathy
GIMP, Usenti, Photoshop, even MS Paint will all work.
EclipseXIV
Ok thanks! I'm experienced with GIMP and Photoshop so it's nice to know those will work. Thanks!
carefreejules
If you have a PC, I use a sprite/pixel specific program called Graphics Gale and it's a really useful program especially if you want to make large sprites but are 8/16 bit (because you have to work on a pretty small canvas for sprites that have that retro look because of the lack of details but if you try to blow it up 100%, the quality is going to be ruined so Graphics Gale has a special grid system where you can preserve the quality) Here are some examples of some of the sprites and pixels I've made in the program: Edited December 28, 2016 by carefreejules
EclipseXIV
Thank you Zane. My profile picture is the result of some bad splicing/recoloring on GIMP. Thanks for telling me what to do!
Robinmang
Hey guys, is Piskel a good website to use when working on sprite work?
Eliwan
I would personally say that it is adequate; though it is not really particularly great and could certainly use tools that it does not have and some general UI cleanup (as it has some clunky parts). However; it certainly has the large advantage of being browser based and thus mostly computer independent.
