Azz
So I saw this on twitter. Spoiler Of coarse it should be taken with a grain of salt but still. I hope it is true. The article also says, there is a possibility of it being ported to other consoles in 2019, and the same with the Crash trilogy, which I'm hoping is the case since I would love to have the game on the Switch (As well as Crash too) for on the go play. Dragoncat
Omg if this happened I would puke rainbows. Especially if it would be ported on the Switch, which I already plan on getting!
Slumber
I'm going to be upset beyond words if they use the shitty Skylanders design of Spyro as the basis for the art direction for this.

Zera
Imagine if it's true, and then they make a Crash Trilogy + Spyro Trilogy Collection. That would be bomb.
Baron the Shining Blade
They did Crash right. I think they're smart enough to do Spyro right. I wouldn't mind seeing Crash Team Racing and Crash Bash get remakes too. And bring back the cheat codes, please!
Acacia Sgt
I hope it is true. I remember people found out that if you input the same code in N Sane Trilogy that you used in the original Crash 3 to unlock the first Spyro game demo, the New Game and Continue settings in the Warped section would disappear. People thought it would mean something... and now I wonder. If a possible Spyro trilogy remake is really in the works... would they likewise add a demo to N Sane Trilogy, like how they added the unused level of Stormy Ascent? Doing such a callback would be totally wicked... I wouldn't worry on them using the Skylander's design. If the Crash remake is any indication, they might opt for a design closer to classic Spyro. We certainly didn't got the Titans/Mutants games designs for the Crash cast, did we? Edited February 14, 2018 by Acacia Sgt

Oh no. I am concerned. If this does happen, I already know what I'd get my brother if he doesn't get it himself first. This would be our jam. Tryhard
I was under the impression they all but teased this in the Crash games remake already.
Zapp Branniglenn
I wonder if some of Spyro 2's challenges will be just as obnoxious. It's been some years since I had Trouble with the Trolley. The missions where you escort the alchemist to save Hunter was also extremely difficult memorization.

But nowadays I find them not that hard anymore. It's all about just memorizing, which can be enough after enough attempts or just watching a video. Personally, even to this day I find myself still struggling with YotD's skateboard races.

(/half-sarcasm) Escorting the alchemist was a lot easier to deal with when you realize you should skip it until you get the headbash ability, otherwise you'd have to do the escorting part a second time just so you can do the second part where you help Hunter destroy the earthshapers, which requires the headbash in the first place. But as Acacia Sgt said, it's nowhere as tough as it was to us when we were kids. I would just hope new players don't make stupid Dark Souls analogies out of it like they did with Crash. So ridiculous, that was.
Acacia Sgt
To be fair, as I mentioned, once you do know the Alchemist walks the same path every time, it becomes easy to just rush to the next Earthshaper and hit it once the Alchemist gets near. Which means that... if a remake do comes, and if they want to make it harder... they could make the Alchemist's path random every time. Now that would be obnoxious. lol

So ridiculous, that was. On the whole, Spyro games are easy enough that I'm sure the general consensus from people playing from the first time is that they're chill, easy games. It might even earn the reputation as "three easy platinums" on PS4. Spyro 1 is perhaps the most consistently challenging of the three. But 2's missions structure will probably get the most notorious buzz since retrying the same challenge over and over is where patience tends to run thin. Modern gaming has a lot more autosaves and generous checkpointing to minimize instance where you do the same sections over and over. That's part of the Dark Souls zeitgeist. You don't just start the boss over from the beginning, you have to redo the walk to the boss' room. Hope this rumor is true. I nominate myself as that weird guy spinning an urban legend of a spyro game that was actually really good but not part of the original trilogy. You don't just start the boss over from the beginning, you have to redo the walk to the boss' room. Is there a problem if I like the generous checkpoints of modern games and when playing things like Mega Man, have to restore point right before a robot master? Sure my platforming skills will remain a bit weak and I never quite learn the dodge patterns since I know I can infinitely redo the boss battle without ever having to redo the entire level, but I don't quite have the time to go through with something I already proved I could complete. And that is what special challenges/achievements are for anyhow. I have a few Spyro memories from childhood. Not a lot, but a few, mostly from the PS1, though a couple GC ones as well; I never did complete a single one. If a Switch version came, maybe I'd consider it. Muh childhood. Tho, I'm gonna wait the extra year though to get it for Switch like I'm doing with Crash. But still though, I'm ecstatic. Anacybele
I considered getting this (though mostly because of Dcat and I've dabbled a bit in Spyro before), but I don't play Sony consoles, so I guess I'm not. :/ Oh well, I got other Switch games I want to buy throughout the year anyway. I'd assume due to the original trilogy's association with the PS1. It's a bit weird sure, though it does make sense keeping that in mind. Happened with the Crash Trilogy too, though it's not so certain with this one when there's leaked images for the XB1 cover. Edit: Turns out a french trailer confirms that PS4 and XB1 come out at the same time. No word on Switch yet. I wouldn't be so quick to say that. I thought that Crash would stay a PS4 exclusive myself, turned out I was wrong. And there was no mention of ports when it came out initially, whereas Switch has been mooted in these leaks and the N-Sane trilogy Switch port was made by the devs making this game. The Switch version not being mentioned yet could be because Ninty want to announce it themselves. Dumb? Yes. Edit: Site's up, get hype. Slumber
Crash Bandicoot was more of my childhood, but I've always had a soft spot for Spyro, too. I reread my first post in this thread and got upset at myself. Thankfully they're keeping true to Spyro's original design.
