It's not (and never will be) COD popularity but it does seem to have gotten out of "proper" obscurity and been a bit more of a household-y name. (at least among people who are interested in gaming.) The series name is well known among most nintendo gamers, but the actual games and ensuing gameplay are lesser known. The games have become a little more known since Three Houses.
