  1. At the risk of taking the genetics of anime characters a bit too seriously, I feel like the Morgans' hair color is most likely a result of latent genes from their grandfather >3> Yeah, Validar has black hair too.
  2. By process of elimination of folks who rely on skills like Desperation and QR, here are my potential Chill Def candidates: Amelia (+Def/-Spd), budget build of Bonfire, Darting Blow, Renewal. Already pretty solid honestly, and my armor team is currently 2 mages + Grima, so not much utility.... NY Camilla (+Spd/-HP), Wo Dao Fury build-- current B-skill is Swordbreaker but TBH with trip Goad she might not even need it to double most swords except to beat other swordbreaker-users. Also a highly regarded waifu deserving of bias inheritance, but only if I'm sure no one else can use it better Eliwood (+Atk/-Spd, but I'm on the lookout for a better IV), Blazing Durandal build with Iceberg, Death Blow, and Swordbreaker. certainly helps his goal of one-shotting folks. Abel (+Atk/-HP), standard Drag Back Brave Lance. See above, but Abel isn't much of a priority (besides, Brash Desp might be better for him) Valter: Heavy Blade + Aether. Has a few B-skills like Lancebreaker, Escape Route, and Vantage, though none have stood out much as being completely ideal (although it's worth noting that I don't mind swapping them around). Also may not need this due to Goad-stacking letting him kill most things anyway. Titania (+Spd/-HP), pretty much just her base kit with Armored Blow and Luna. She's on my list of eventual Fury recipients, though I don't remember what B-skill I was planning to give her. Catria (+Atk or +Spd, working on IVs), planning a Firesweep build with LnD and Galeforce. Don't have Cancel Affinity which IIRC is ideal for Firesweep builds, but this may be the next best thing if/when I decide to build her. Klein (+Atk/-Def), pretty much his base kit; current B-skill is Bowbreaker. Strikes me as particularly useful for him unless I go with Brash Desp for him again. Camilla, Catria, and Klein feel like the best options to me right now. Oh, and my Chrom is +Atk/-Def. If anyone wants to try convincing me to keep him I'll take these arguments too lol. He definitely seems solid, I'm just not that interested in him. And of course, it's likely that all of these folks with the possible exception of Klein have perfectly serviceable alternatives at their disposal, so unless Chill Def is like, SUPER optimal for them, chances are I'll give it a pass and just keep him. EDIT: Oops I didn't mean to post this yet .-. I meant to edit it into my last post Dx sorry mods & others. =3= ;; Welp while I'm editing / asking things.... does anyone want to offer some input for my next feather expenditure? ~___~ 1) better nature merges: m!Corrin (Atk+/-Res) Oboro (+Def/-Spd) Raven (+Spd/-Res) - gonna be a while before I can refine him though he's 2nd next at best 2) Ephraim: Sturdy Blow from Athena (+Atk Heavy Blade Bonfire Ephraim with his refinement = hella sexy) 3) Giving folks LnD 3: Raven (has 2) Nino (has 2) Tharja 4) ny!Corrin: Guard Bow 5) Tiki merges: 140k needed, 7 remaining (they're taking up space in my barracks lol...)
  3. Definitely usable. To be honest, Res and Atk are the only stats that are particularly important for her if you want to use her default kit; I'd give her Res refinement and DD seal along with her base kit, QR in place of Guard, and she will be a helluva EP magic tank. Definitely usable. Okay I saw you got advice on this already but I wanted to throw my two cents in... IDK if you're thinking of swapping out her weapon or sticking with Serpent, but if you do, I'd strongly recommend going with Fury and Spd+3 seal over Darting Blow, so you can utilize the added Speed on enemy phase (to take advantage of her weapon effect) as well as player phase. If you're planning to give her Blade or Owl, then Darting is fine. But yeah, with +Spd, Spd+3 seal, Spd refine and Fury she hits 41 Spd on both phases IIRC (I have a +Spd/-Atk Morgan myself so this is the option that I'm attempting to go with). And then probably like a breaker for the B-slot. I actually came to ask my own question but I wanted to throw in my input for precious daughter builds first lol. So anyway yeah. Who are good recipients for Chill Defense? I pulled Chrom as pitybreaker and wondering if I should give it to someone. I'll list my prospective units in a bit or when I get a response
  4. Yeah I'm gonna jump on the argument saying 'yes Blarserpent'; with her default kit (Quick Riposte in place of Guard) and Distant Def seal, she can still be a pretty substantial Res tank (-Spd actually sort of works to her advantage since she'll proc Iceberg so long as she's doubled) and with +Def she actually stands a better chance of tanking daggers, if not bows. You can do Blade if you want, but I feel like you're better off trying to make the most of her base kit. Remember, her EP Res with all the skills mentioned is a hefty 49, which is absolutely nothing to sneeze at. I definitely highly suggest sticking with her base kit and making her a res tank, it's not only easier to build but probably better than anything else she can do with that IV. Still perfectly salvageable. EDIT: Oh and Res or Def refine are both perfectly acceptable either way IMO. Since you're +Def you can technically afford to pump up her Def as well if you want.
  5. Hmm. I feel like some of these could be condensed and/or finetuned in terms of skills offered... For instance, I don't think there's any reason for an enemy phase Blarowl set to be an option when Blarserpent exists now, and I feel like the Blarblade, Sealife, and offensive Blarowl could be condensed onto a single player phase offense set since they're built pretty similarly; I don't think it's necessary to separate sets by weapon when they all have pretty much the same job-- that's just kinda more work for you anyway. Some of the Sacred Seal options also need to be updated or more specific (I don't think just saying 'flexible' is acceptable for seals, since you can usually narrow it down to 2-3 that are reasonably fitting if not necessary for the set). Some of the writeups are also pretty lackluster and I think you need to go into more detail to justify why some sets (IE Blarraven) are worth investing in. I think Blarraven COULD possibly work with stuff like Iote's Shield, but I would want to see that calcs have been run to prove that it's justified and worth running (for instance, I ran calcs on a Raven build for Merric and found it to not be worthwhile, so I didn't write it up). How successful the unit is at the role in question should dictate what sets they run more than if they CAN technically run it, in other words. Hope this doesn't come across as too harsh, just tryna make sure these are up to standard. If I can help in some other way don't hesitate to let me know. I'll probably be commenting on Morgan at some point too because I love her lol. (loving her set names so far btw)
  6. Aight here goes. Warded Dragon (Res-focused enemy phase) General use, Arena Offense, Assault/Chain modes Sorry if this is a bit wordy, you can feel free to trim it down or edit as needed. This is aiming to replace the 'standard dragon' TA set, of course.
  7. I'm still working on collecting Dew for the Brynhildr upgrade (we're in a bit of a refining stone drought at the moment SMH, maybe we'll get some more soon...), but I do run a lot of EP or EP-versatile units, and given how strong the refinement effect is combined with his natural access to QR and DD being easy to slap onto folks, I think it's safe to call it Arena-worthy, at least in theory. I'll get back to you on testing when I'm able to build him. (mine just so happens to be +Def/-Spd so I'm excited for the possibilities haha) Since I don't have DD fodder I'll probably be going with Earth Boost, since my one spare Steady Stance is promised to my Beruka.
  8. That's cool, I was just curious. Keep practicing and good luck!
  9. No worries, man. If it would help, would you have objections to me contributing in that regard? EDIT @ below (so as not to spam the thread) cool, I'll get to it if/when I can, whoever does it first I suppose lol.
  10. @Ice Dragon yeah, pretty much. Barring the aforementionedly rare Death Blow +Def Julia who can do it with no help, she can pretty much do it on her own all the time (assuming -Def Julia is still relatively common) ; in special cases or when Julia has buffs, it's not that hard to provide her with the assistance needed to land that KO. Does this mean you will or won't do the writeup for that one :0
  11. It's fine, Icedrag has a lot of stuff to deal with. Also condolences, but holy wow at least Ayra is pretty cool o3o I still haven't got HER myself lol ;;
  12. Just remember that Divine Naga ignores field buffs, so that +8 from Ninian is really just a +2. (assuming you mean her Hone Drags that is). I definitely think that if you want to go the res route, you gotta go balls-deep in it in order to succeed, but that's just me. Good luck with whatever you decide!
  13. I updated this a little bit with some miscellaneous fixes here and there. I continue to be baffled that apparently people don't consider a unit with Ayra-levels of stat inflation that gets equally deadly performance on player phase AND enemy phase, as well as flier mobility and buff access, to be the best thing ever. EDIT: OKAY WAIT. I had another set idea that better justifies this bump...... lemme just see here... so if..... Slaying Edge, Galeforce would be.... 4 CD.... and then, if Heavy Blade.... Attack: CD 4-> 2, counter: 2->1, attack: 1-> proc... .......hmmm. I might be able to make a case for a slaying edge build after all..... So if.... If the Bloody Sword build, but... Slaying Edge and Galeforce instead.... ....oh yeah. That could work.
  14. Oh. Dude. You have no idea xD (she's linked in my sig if you want to check her out) For one, yes, she handles other opponents very well. Before I even got Warding Breath I was (trying to get Steady Breath and eternally failing and instead) running Fury, and Tiki with healer support (healer also had Fort Res 3 / Fort Def 2 IIRC), she was responsible for pretty much soloing the left half of the infernal Tanamelia GHB map. Bows, non-Falchion swords, surprisingly many non-TA lances (hell I actually have one vague memory of mine, WEAKENED, taking out a full-health, TT-inflated stats Subaki), you name it. I don't doubt that Tiki might be perfectly well off focusing on purely pumping up that tangy defense, but personally I'm a really big advocate for double-sided tanking, and her defense is already so good that I think she's okay without needing to invest in it. It's also worth noting that if she's being run on a dragon team (barring rare and pointless comps with both Tikis, which I don't advise given the diversity of the other dragons), she pretty much HAS to be able to counter Julia or her whole team is at risk pretty hard. For general teams where she's being used to bypass tanky axe units on their weaker defense, someone else can be used to counter Julia, but I do think it's worthwhile to let her do it herself if she has the right IV and the skills for it (IE, yours). As for Aether, I actually personally prefer it and run it on my own Tiki for dat sweet healing, but common consensus is that consistent procing is typically better than the charge-em-ups, so I imagine that Bonfire would still be the main slash in the writeup and Aether would be the secondary if @Ice Dragon thinks it's worth a mention (personally, I definitely do lol. Bonfire might be the preferred option for short-term engagements, IE Arena, but Aether is amazing for her survivability on reinforcement-ridden maps). At this point, I think you know what I'd suggest doing with your Tiki, but if you're still not totally sure, definitely wait and give yourself time to decide so you have no regrets. (but... yeah. Minty Tiki all the way)
  15. @Ice Dragon I'm testing my build (+Res/-Spd Tiki with Res refinement, Warding Breath, QR3, and DD3) with no field buffs (IE Fort Dragons) against Julia. So interestingly yeah, as you say Defense is the main stat that matters for Julia since she can't OHKO through Tiki's skills, but she can if she doubles and escapes being OHKO'd. Atk Tactic boosted, +Atk Death Blow Julia will not kill Tiki, +Def Death Blow Julia with no buffs CAN kill her. I did some more finagling with skills and IVs and such to see how well Julia can consistently kill Tiki, and it seems like the conditions for Julia to win are QUITE narrow... Basically, outside of the conditions of the prior example or those achieving something similar, Julia cannot ORKO this variation of Tiki without buffs in Atk and/or Def, depending on her build and IVs-- and Tiki does not need much in the way of passive buff support to land that KO again or even escape being killed by the double. Julia DOES have the advantage of being able to run field buffs while Tiki cannot, but Tiki can just as easily neutralize Julia's advantage with passive buffs. Also.... Green Tomebreaker completely wrenches the works of Julia's ability to kill Minty Tiki, for whatever that's worth. Besides that, a lot of Julia still run -Def from the days when that was considered optimal for her, so the variations of Julia that can kill a GTB-less Tiki WITHOUT help are pretty few and far between, and most will need +4 in Atk AND Defense to kill her otherwise. tl;dr I do think it's worth it. Even if Tiki's team can't provide the buffs needed to exonerate her while she has QR, she can simply run GTB to hard-counter Julia. EDIT: My current Tiki is summoner supported and not really a fair comparison (she's in my sig all the same tho), so here is the statline we're looking at for a regular 5* Tiki: +Res/-Spd IV // Lightning Breath+ [Res] | Bonfire | Warding Breath | QR3/GTB3 | flexible | Distant Def 3 45 HP | 47 Atk | 20 Spd | 35(+6) Def | 31(+4+6) Res Parentheticals are the difference when she's initiated on ofc. 41 unboosted in both defenses is nothing to sneeze at.
  16. sup this looks pretty cool, I could use one. Image: https://78.media.tumblr.com/a273a867ac6d078d847f110188b8fd39/tumblr_p5ajg77bcK1ucsp0go1_540.png Text: Dragon Dad Style: SF probably? TBH I can't find the style samples ;; Will that image work? If not I can throw a background onto it for simplicity's sake.
  17. You have a nice clean and simple style. Hope to see more stuff from ya o3o Do you do fullbodies or anything like that? or are these just practice busts/headshots?
  18. That Eirika looks really good! Her hair and the detailing on her armor are legit, and I'm super impressed with the metallic shading on her breastplate, that's something I still struggle with when it comes to drawing/coloring armor =v=;; I also really like the lighting and ambient effects in the other ones, nice work!
  19. I recolored the FEH Morgans as my Tiki!Morgan and my wife's Henry!Morgan =u= they're so cute I couldn't resist
  20. No worries man, and you're welcome to use my set writeup (outright or as a basis) if you want in case that makes things easier. I for one am glad we didn't get an enhanced Gravity effect, I'm very much inclined to agree with IceDrag in that it'd just have been a worse version of DazzleGrav. He has a really distinct and useful niche this way and I'm happy with it. Like seriously, just the fact that he's red and has the defense-over-speed-doubling-threshold thing works really well for him, since there are NO substantially bulky blue mages-- Robin and Rein are about it-- that can really threaten him much with a 2HKO besides the obvious Rein (which we're still waiting to see about given the effects).
  21. She'll also glean the benefits of Tactics skills if her team happens to be running those, so she can potentially run Defense Tactic along with a Hone Speed seal, and get herself and everyone else +4 Atk / +4 Speed / +(howevermuchIforget) Def all on her own merit alone. Otherwise, Hone Spd + Fortify Def seems like a pretty solid buff basis for herself alone as well as any melee buds. Not too much has changed for her, it just kinda improves her own performance, which is still pretty cool.
  22. Hot damn, boys. Brynhildr's new effect gets Deflect Magic/auto-Sacred Cowl as well as that nifty effect that Myrrh has for disabling doubles-- difference being that the threshold is much lower (he only needs to have ONE-- ONE more defense than his attacker to deny them the double) with the catch being that it's ranged-only, which is still pretty hot. Leo just became the best enemy phase Cav tome unit in the game, IMO. If I may..... Brynhildr Reborn (ranged tank) Optimal Build, General Use I'm curious to see if he can actually survive Rein with some DD stacking alongside the deflect magic effect from Brynhildr, but the calckers haven't updated yet.
  23. So we've got Wind's Brand with a Chill Atk effect, as well as an Owl tome refinement. Pretty interesting; seems like he could make a great debuff bot with Wind's Brand, Chill Speed, Res Ploy and Def Ploy. Mine is a speed stacker (hits 42 Spd with +Spd, Fury, and Spd+3 seal) so I might slap Speed Smoke on him, or else Res Ploy if I can ever pull a spare Duma!Celica. Pretty cool.
