  1. you're forgetting that she's 10/1 base. so she's effectively 20/11 right now, which gives the same exp as 10/16. so no, she is not at a ridiculous lvl for that chapter where enemies are 11-12.
  2. guys, don't forget that Camilla is an early premote. so 20/1 Beruka is overlvled compared to 10/1 Camilla. so we either compare the 2 at equal internal lvls (Camilla at Lvl 6 to Beruka Lvl 1, Tier 2) or compare them at equal lvls but taking note of Camilla's extra exp gains
  3. just a fyi, something like this already exists https://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://github.com/hiushi/FE14AverageStats/blob/master/index.html it's not perfect tho since the shared characters have slightly different bases depending on route (even when brought to the same lvl) so for those characters it might not be accurate. a big one being Rev!Silas having ~10 more HP
  4. you'll find most of the formulas in Awakening's Calculations page though not Exp ofc (nor S Rank bonuses). the formula's been stated across the forum multiple times. it was just never published onto the Fates page =\ and I do not recall the exact number (and it's different depending on difficulty)
  5. also, since Takumi already has Spear Fighter as his secondary, he already has access to Rend Heaven. since you haven't mentioned children at all (besides small Caeldori mention) I'll assume they don't matter in this (but those are terrible mods/growths for the child), but for the parents as well, the Pair Up bonuses don't mesh at all either. I feel it's a waste of Orochi's Pair Ups even if you don't use them in Defense Stance often, the option is nice as mentioned, the overemphasis on reclassing and skills for in-game run is too much. especially Lvl 15 ones. focus only on the Lvl 5s if anything and 15 only if the class is a natural option for the character eg, Hinoka likes being Spear Master anyways so go all the way to Lvl 15 for Lancefaire (plus doesn't need to grind a new weapon rank). not all characters need/should reclass for bonus skills. Sakura definitely doesn't need to go Ninja, especially if you're just going to bring her back to Priestess. Kaze also becomes utterly useless for a full 2-3 chapters if you do so. Hana also doesn't need those Ninja skills at all while Hinata will also become useless for a couple of chapter
  6. yes @ Soleil. for Nina, she won't learn while she's a Adventurer, but as always, when Bow Knight she'll learn lower tier skills first no matter the situation, learn lower lvl skills first from all possible lower tiers, then current tier
  7. another way to put it as serenes site puts it: Defence and Resistance -5, follow up attack speed +5, enemy’s follow up attack speed +5 that description's probably clearer
  8. how many lvls past 10. eg. Lvl 20 is 10+N so N is 10. or if you were to recruit them at Lvl 15, N is 5, etc
  9. Kana does inherit Avatar's secondary class. unless I'm misinterpretting what you said
  10. ah, nice. my latter assumption turned out correct
  11. if both parents have lvled enough, then all stats should get +2 or so anyways, even with a different Boon. however, I haven't done the math (I've only done base stat calcs once or twice when parents are a number of lvls into Tier 2: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=66037)so what I say might not be accurate if parents aren't a couple of lvls above recruited child's lvl.
  12. eh, she's a bit tricky. her usefulness as a tank is a bit limited by her poor HP. she's also ok as a regular attacker if you're able to keep her personal active. for example, at 20/- Hana has 18.75 Str while Rinkah has 15.2. so, with her Personal, she's effectively 19.2 Str with a weapon that has higher Mt. other comparisons: Saizo 18 Subaki 14 Silas 19 or at Lvl 20/10 Rinkah (Shura): 22.25 (26.25) Hana (Swordmaster): 26.6 Subaki (Falcon Knight): 19.6 Saizo (Master Ninja): 24.95 Silas (Paladin): 26.8
  13. imo, Kana's stats aren't even mediocre but outright below average. looking at base stats, Kana's absolute Base Str is the second lowest after Rhajat (and tied with Ophelia). Kana's Mag is only average. does have good Skl/Spd/Lck though growths. HP Growth is bottom tier at 30% before other parent. excluding the Kamuisexuals, only Azura, Hana and Rinkah have lower at 25%. Fates has pretty low HP growths but it's still around 40% average. at 35%/30% for Str/Mag, that's also below average (40%). can Kana even Tank though? 25%/25% Def/Res is low tier or average at best and definitely not Tank worthy. on top of Kana's base Def/Res being average. also only has average Skl/Spd growths if we bring in the other parent's growths, then we can maybe make Kana something. but at most, Kana will be average or slightly above average strictly in the role the parent would've had. definitely not worth using over the parent, really
  14. fixed in bold I know you said cannot be changed but what's Sakura doing with Hinata from an optimization perspective? of the others, Saizo doesn't mind Mag. Laslow could go Felicia and become a rallybot instead. Azama's mods do heavily favor Str but his daughter does start Shrine Maiden so maybe. where'd Kaze go?
  15. prob Felicia. better Str growth (5% difference = 2.5% in Kiragi), way better Spd growth (25% difference = 12.5% in Kiragi), and Spd mods are 3 whole pts up. unless you're focusing entirely on endgame, then it's 2 Str vs 3 Spd, which is better? there's also Class consideration I guess but Kiragi doesn't want to be an Onmyouji (and already naturally has Basara) nor Troubador line (though Tomebreaker? though Skill buying is always a thing)
  16. if you're looking at max stats, then the problems shrink significantly since all that matters at that pt are mods, personal, and maybe class options. mods, Kana has it pretty good, being Avatar's child. personal is meh but it's not like all the children are good. and Kana has easier access to all classes than other children Kana's weakness lays in Kana's pretty crappy bases and growths
  17. no yes. but like in Awakening, if you increase the stat cap again, the extra stat returns (assuming you were up to the cap)
  18. -for children to have higher base stats upon recruitment, they'd have to inherit from their parents. and parents pass down more stats the higher lvl they are. but it's at most 2 (or 3 in rare cases) per stat so overall, nothing to worry about. what's more important is growths and postgame: mods. other considerations are classes and skills but mostly relevant in postgame only. so just be logical about it. don't pair a Magic mother with a Physical Father (pay attention to mix growth parents like Saizo) the other tangential consideration is how the parents benefit from this marriage. will they gain a class out of it? will the pair ups be good? -some are good, some are poor versions of their fathers (may or may not be ok on their own), and some just work differently. for example, Caeldori, Velouria, and Sophie are slightly less bulky but faster versions of their parents. Shiro is pretty good but works differently from his father. as mentioned Kiragi is at least ok on his own but Takumi's Yumi is OP. Kana's just bad overall. no Yato, low HP and Str base AND low growths in those while having average Mag base and low Mag growth. also average defenses w/ low growths I could go through all of them but some of these are dependent on your playstyle (Sophie vs Silas for example). for the most part, none of the children are bad per se so just go with whoever you want. as long as it's not nogrind Lunatic CQ, anyone can be used -1-2 Healer but beyond that, that's entirely your playstyle. find what works with you. it also depends what's available. though do try to vary your weapon types a bit (and I mean parts of the triangle so have some green, some blue, and some red. don't do all Shuriken and Naginatas). you're gonna want at least 1 Mag, especially for that one chapter in BR but I went most of my BR Hard without one at all (besides when I was grinding for Rend Heaven) -look on the site. it's all there ._. -as I mentioned, Kana's on the lower end of children. just pretty poor bases and personal growths. the other parent can only somewhat salvage it and make Kana just an average unit. post-game though where growths and bases don't matter anymore, sure. you can marry a 2nd Gen if you want to really max out 1 or 2 stats. for the most part, you can simply marry a Gen 1. your options are somewhat restricted if you really want a +8 or higher in a stat vs a ~+4
  19. there's already an Axe that does -30% HP. -20% for a S Rank comparatively just isn't enough of a penalty
  20. reminder that it's gotta have a big penalty of some sort. right now it's just outright OP compared to everything else. there's no reason not to use it
  21. you're probably gonna have to mention who the 2nd Gen parents are (minor) and your Avatar's Boon/Bane (major) and what you're looking for in your Kana (flexible)
  22. imo, there are plenty of non-OP but good units. Mozu, as any Villager, given investment (instant Dread Fighter from Lvl 1 in her recruit chapter especially), Saizo's ok, Hinoka (especially as Spear Fighter), Oboro, Kagero (though squishy). Sakura also has decent growths all around but grinding through to promotion. and as frustrating as Rinkah's growths can be, just a HP Tonic at the beginning of the chapter and maintaining below max HP gives +4 dmg and she's tanky excluding her HP. just what are your standards? what's OP and what's trash? Fates's grinding DLC isn't as brain dead as Awakenings but the scaling isn't as much of a disadvantage as you make it out to be. I've grinded the hell out of Awakening and it isn't useful at all after 3 Second seals. so for any one char you're grinding in Awakening, you'll still have to use Spotpass summons for many, many lvls. there's a few things you can do to make more use of the DLC. first, don't stress getting as many kills as possible if it's just going to make you overextend yourself and possibly get killed. just pull 1-2 autoaggro at a time per group if need be and skip the last half of the run completely. second, you need chip dmg/dual attacks more than in Awakening so do that. third, if you're grinding stronger units, there's a breakable barrier in the middle which brings you at the front of all the spawns. not recommended for grindng low lvls ofc, w/ the Stoneborns and all. granted, for the most part, challenges are more effective at grinding lvls. but keep in mind Conquest doesn't have challenges plus, Awakening's DLC also had stuff run away and the only possible way you could've killed them all was with a lot of path blocking on top of Galeforce. as mentioned, at its foundation, Fire Emblem is not a grinding game. just because you've only played the ones that had some shouldn't mean you can take that as the standard for all of them. and you mentioned that the other games had post-game grind. you're not even post-game yet so why compare with those?
  23. looks are subjective ofc and you're just in a minority opinion =P a more objective answer of why she's so great is she's outright outclasses Nyx (not that Nyx is good) and her Paralogue has Horse Scroll. she also has an easy to trigger Personal that's at least somewhat useful and she has a strong personal Tome (even if it's not as strong as Brynhildr). and unless you're a heavy spender, the G loss doesn't matter much. what's 900 or 1200 G going to matter when a Bronze is worth roughly that much anyways, too? and personally, I wasn't much of a spender so I was able to comfortably buy what I needed anyways Conquest is extra particular about learning when to use Guard and when to use Attack. and this balance shifts over the course of the game, too, depending on your playstyle, team composition, and lvl ups the Avatar does get extra exp so it's easier for the Avatar to get overlvled. while you could feed the avatar all the promoted exp, it's not like you run into maxed exp gains if you killed with weaker units (ie. losing out on exp because capped). what I end up doing is weakening with (or using as Attack stance partner) the avatar and let other units get the actual kill and bulk of the exp. same with Camilla and the other prepromotes. this way, they're only leeching minimal exp and still doing a lot of work.
  24. note +3 rather than 3. and only someone having a really blank moment would think jumping from D Rank to C Rank drops the amount you heal down to 1-3.
