  1. Here's an FE8 hack I've been working on for a couple of weeks. Some key points: * Durability is removed for most weaponry (siege tomes can still break). Weapon lines get various abilities to differentiate each other. * Some classes have had their weapon choices changed. Notably Cavaliers no longer have access to swords, Knights get axes in addition to lances. * Enemies are buffed up relative to vanilla FE8. No more facing unpromoted enemies in the last few chapters. * Character stats tweaked to clarify their roles. Example, Seth is still good, but will have a harder time remaining relevant to endgame unless given more attention. Here's the link for v 0.9: https://www.mediafire.com/?9zgqtyajxu6v71v As always give feedback after playing! Thank you!
  2. How exactly>? What I meant was something like if Garcia promotes, he can get Hero (A Swords B Axes) or Warrior (A Axes B Bows).
  3. Sounds interesting. And those growths look much better? My questions are: 1. What other units are you gonna add? 2. The Branded were pretty much a big part of Tellius. Will they play a bigger role in this? 3. How will you weld Priam's journey into Awakening?
  4. I believe I've asked this on FEUniverse as well but it wouldn't hurt Anything on max weapon ranks a la RD/Fates?
  5. Basically I like an Eliwood/Eirika type balance-wise, yes. They're units whose perfect availability and decent growths make them average at worst, but their other issues like being swordlocked (before Eliwood promotes, at least) and rather low-ish bases make them non-broken.
  6. IIRC doesn't the Levin Sword not appear in BR? I believe it's only available in CQ/RV.
  7. Looks cool. If you need any help or feedback feel free to ask me.
  8. I mean you can always go and edit the names if you wanted to, but editing a heavily hacked ROM is probably pretty herculean for most of us Seliph >>>>> Celice tho
  9. Eliwood - Princely Bearing: +10 Avoid to all allies in a two-tile radius, -2 damage taken by nearby units with at least a C rank support Hector - Bravado: +10 Hit and Crit if enemy is lower level Marcus - Protector of Pherae: +10 Hit/Avoid if within 3 tiles of Eliwood/Roy Roy - Promising Heir: +3 damage dealt if enemy is <50% HP Wil - Gregarious: If unit uses Wait, +20 Avoid for friendly units within 2 tiles until next turn Florina - Shy Flower: +10 Avoid, -2 damage dealt vs male units Oswin - Rock of Ostia: -2 damage received/+10 Hit if within 3 tiles of Hector
  10. GBA, because even if I like the Tellius games I got into them much later than FE8, and FE7 effectively got me into the series.
  11. Renault: Bishop primary, Hero secondary Kieran: Axe Cav primary, Fighter secondary Lute: Mage primary, Pegasus Knight secondary Garcia: Fighter primary, Knight secondary
  12. good idea, but I'm kind of wet behind the ears so I dunno how to work this thing
  13. So I'm finally starting work on a long-planned hack, and in my current concept the main lord gets the super legendary weapon, albeit in a de-powered/sealed state around 2/3s of the way in the game, and gets the ultimate version of said weapon near the end. Think something like the Noble/Grim/Alpha Yato then turning into the Blazing/Shadow/Omega Yato. I was wondering if there was some kind of event routine you could run to essentially replace the weapon (e.g. remove the weapon from inventory then add the new one). Any ideas?
  14. Tried downloading and testing, patching over a clean FE7 rom as usual. However after the opening narration and the prologue splash screen I get a black screen. Any idea what's happening?
  15. Axes/lances as featured in the Archanea/Tellius/Awakening/Fates games. I much prefer it to the Sword/lance of FEGBA. I like weapon diversity in my classes, and there's little differentiating a Wyvern Lord from a Falcon Knight in FEGBA other than caps otherwise. Plus Wyvern Knight is better than both in SS.
  16. FE1. FE11 blows it out of the water, and I'm not even that big a fan of FE11 (Avatar aside, FE12 was much better).
  17. Favorite classes: Mage, Cavalier, Mercenary, and their respective promotions (yes, even Ranger/Bow Knight). I always use one of each in any playthrough. Least favorite: Armor Knight. So zetta slow.
  18. It doesn't seem to be a problem with that particular animation - I inserted a staff Falcoknight animation, and when I try to promote Vanessa (most conveniently, she's Level 10 and I have an Elysian Whip) the screen also blacks out. And yes, the Fighter class is still the same.
  19. I dunno, the animations otherwise work normally. I did make sure to change the separators to 0. A temporary workaround I did was to temporarily switch the animation back to normal right before promotion, then switching it back afterwards. Of course, that doesn't really solve the issue.
