  1. Ahh... there it was. A masterpiece of ice cream, blended milk, silver sprinkles with dark chocolate swirls painting the inside of the cheap collectible Batcon 2405™ cup. Felix took a sip. Hmm. It wasn't awful, but he wouldn't go out of his way to purchase this when he could whip something up in the kitchen just as good, if not better. Some soda water would have improved the texture and chopped fruit could boost its nutritional value, albeit at the cost of ruining the look. It really did resemble Double Tap in simplistic milkshake form. Hitomi probably wouldn't mind if I asked her to taste test my version, Felix mused. But it had to wait. Team Odyssey was about to be thrown under the spotlight, and Matsuo was right that Felix helping out afterwards came with its own set of problems. How many players and fans would show up wanting to talk to the infamous Silver Bullet? Or cosy up to Hitomi in a bid for a connection to the Moto name? Not that it would work, of course. Those problems wouldn't disappear if Felix wasn't present though. Be less obtrusive? Certainly. Still, Odyssey needed fresh blood and Matsuo and himself were going to lure in plenty of fish today. Felix headed out on stage as the clapping grew in volume; seems like Matsuo was at it again. He does so love playing to a crowd. "Thank you all! It's a real pleasure to see so many passionate Frame Ops players and fans here today." As the noise died down, Felix gave everyone a small grin. "My name is Felix Lis, formerly known as the Silver Bullet and member of Team Strays. It wasn't so long ago that I was in your shoes, playing alongside him." A nod to Matsuo. "Or challenging myself in Aeon solo queue. Treat today as not only an opportunity to find out just how warships will impact multiplayer meta, but a chance to form a team! Some of your closest friends may come from playing Frame Ops." "However," Felix paused. "We can talk more about that later. Actions speak louder than words, and this video," A sweep of his hand gestured to the screens. "Will show you everything!"
  2. Felix looked up from his handheld screen briefly when yet another alert popped up with the latest ETA for the Independence II, not quite visible in the sky. He shook his head; luckily a bit of buffer time had been built into the schedule for today, and his guest speech could be cut short if needed. A quick flick of his fingers brought up the 'Hitomi tag,' which displayed their ten most recent digital interactions: Compak message, Swift payment, yesterday's video chat... Looks like Hitomi should be here by now, judging by that timestamp, he thought. Another swipe brought back his to-do list for the next few days. --- "10:29 ... begin operation," Matsuo said, getting ready to head on stage. "I'm ready when you are. I'll see if I can't help her sort through any interested folks once all the talking is done. If you do manage to give Hitomi and Odyssey a shoutout, she'll probably be swarmed at the end." That also meant Felix wouldn't have time to grab a bite after Matsuo got off stage. After his own talk was finished and Matsuo resumed though - would there be enough time for him to sneak off stage, loop around the standing crowd without being noticed, buy a Silver Bullet shake, return to this side of the partition blocking him from view of the audience, and scoop Hitomi out of the crowd before she was trampled post-presentation? Maybe not. Sighing internally, Felix made a quick request of one of the BattleNet employees loitering behind stage. There was a little irony in Felix Lis buying a 'Silver Bullet' shake; a percentage of the profit technically went to him. Here's hoping they didn't neglect taste for looks when making this.
  3. Posting here to confirm I'm joining/subbing in. Character(s) to be decided.
  4. Stopped by here a few weeks ago intending to come back to wrap this story up, but real life got in the way again. Just posting to confirm that Heinz is coming back. I want to finish this RP, some sort of recap is currently in the works. I enjoyed writing and wish I had stayed active longer here, but I'm glad to be back on the forums regardless of how long it's for.
  5. http://theoatmeal.com/comics/misspelling Probably one of the better (not boring) methods out there to review grammar, helpful pictures included.
  6. Long story short, my workload this semester is making life semi-unpleasant. Coupled with being under the weather at the moment, I'm currently lacking enough short term stability/energy to post consistently (or at all). That's not to say that I might not post occasionally, but regular updates are unlikely. In the meantime, character control goes to the GMs. Sorry for the delay in notice. This probably deserved to be posted several weeks ago, I suppose now is better than never.
  7. I mentioned a week or two ago on the IRC chat that I would be in Canada for a while. Apologies for my being absent, this wasn't meant to turn into a hiatus. I should be returning shortly to consistent internet access and (implied) activity.
  8. Sword "Well as you know, Beau, Raemond, Esphyr, Tiria, and I were here earlier," Heinz began. "Tiria was looking for her uncle, Professor Draper, and we were directed to his office. The place was messy, Esphyr was looking around when an assistant came by to lock up. Esphyr had her hand touching one of the metal circles on the table; I turned around just in time to see her go up in smoke. Nothing left but some metal. Apparently it was an experiment the professor had going on," he shrugged awkwardly. "Afterwards the research assistant broke down and Raemond tried to destroy the Crimson Sword. I tackled him, Tiria picked up both swords, and everyone was kicked out. You know the rest," Heinz concluded, smiling faintly. "I took away his tome, but I gave it back to him when Raemond sensed the demons heading toward us, while you were searching for Miranda. I overheard what he said to Tiria later though, don't think he'll kill her now that the Crimson Sword is bound. I can keep an eye on the templar however, if you'd like," Heinz offered.
  9. Brooms? His mouth twisted; the subject Morgan wished to discuss was clear. Or had been at least, now she was ash. Heinz patted Ralf and swung himself into the saddle. The ride was brief and putting away his mount quickly, he followed the shaman indoors. TISME was roughly the same as he remembered; fiddling with a doorknob, the thief found a closet with a few nondescript odds and ends lying around. "This room seems unoccupied," Heinz said to Morgan. Though calling it a room was probably a stretch. At least there seemed to be a light.
  10. Moving Heinz frowned when Raemond reported the demons' movements. Probably Miranda, although with who's left it could be almost any of the wielders there... or weapons. The count was cautious with good motive; the thief looked on wordlessly as the nomad returned, questioning her brother's whereabouts. As Lev and Morgan arrived back Heinz listened intently, sheathing one of his knives. So Miranda bound the crimson sword to Tiria. Perhaps she felt the sword was necessary to kill the demons? She was rather furious with sorrow at the time, he mused, casting a glance to the duke and monk. They were upset, understandably so. Heinz readied the other knife in case the swordswoman was to be attacked, but the templar remained calm. How honorable. The mercenary put the knife back on his belt. Fight a demon? Looks like the girl has a bit of a self-esteem problem. Too much frustration, pride. Does she even know which demon she needs to kill for revenge? Heinz looked at the wind sage, then back to the wyvern. If everyone's regrouping, I'd rather not dig. He made a mental note to talk with the templar later regarding the weapons before nodding towards the shaman. "Of course," he responded, although suddenly there was a downpour of slush. "How about we talk indoors?" the thief suggested. Hunger Ralf was starving. Really now, the cloaked man had gone running off and after coming back had simply ignored him. The horse attempted to shake off the sleet for a few minutes, eventually giving up. Trotting over, Ralf nosed the mercenary's shoulder impatiently. It was time to get out of the cold.
  11. After several heartbeats Heinz twitched, giving an inquisitive look to the templar. "Are the demons still halted? Can you sense the Crimsons?" He flexed his fingers slowly, allowing the blood to circulate. Feels like sentry duty all over again.
  12. He's too serious to be joking, Heinz noted. But if there are two demons and one is Miranda, the thief retrieved the tome from underneath his cloak. "Sure," handing the magic book back to Raemond. He readied his knives, holding one loosely in each hand. Might need both. "Light magic should be able to stall a demon, I've quick enough reflexes to hit a limb or two. If it's small, it might still slip past us in a tunnel," Heinz commented.
