  1. Jakob's wins. I feel like if he wasn't a medieval butler he'd be a pretty big meme king.
  2. I went with +spd -mag. It's not exactly the most popular bane, but to me the -1 spd is: whatever.
  3. ah.. lol if it's exp then I think I'll just pass this part. Thanks guys!
  4. Would I miss anything if I did this? How do most ppl usually deal with hinata? When I try googling this people apparently had no issues with this part so I'm assuming something's off with my unit comp.
  5. Anyone have any advice for cq ch23 lunatic? I'm trying to move up on the far right of the bridge when I come up to hinata, and my plan was to bait some guys out with benny, but apparently these units act differently... and the life and death archer almost kills my bait. I think the biggest problem is that I can't orko all of these units in 1 turn, so what ends up happening is the accumulated dmg I get from counter attacks and the counter skill on those archers just sets up a easy kill for the remaining enemy next turn. I tried pulling these guys away, but they apparently reset. O yea, and there's also takumi shooting that balista at you so definitely I have to clear that section out in 1 turn?
  6. o... yea for sure don't put rend heaven on your mages lol. I still say luna is better for mages though, considering mages in fates have poor skill growths/caps which hurts dragon fang's below average proc rate even more. The thing I don't like about dragon fang is that a lot of the bonus damage is overkill, and that huge damage is supposed to be balanced with that lower proc rate, which leads me to think dragon fang got the short end of the stick out of the 3 skills.
  7. Mages who have low defense to begin with? Also that's why I put luna as best, then rend heaven. Luna has a use in every scenario.
  8. Because proc chance. These skills more or less all give that circumstantial orko threshold you need to kill but dragon fang has the lowest proc.
  9. Seconding luna. Dragon fang honestly sucks. It's a marginal dps increase with a mediocre proc chance. Rend heaven is a good runner up since most of the time you'll end up using physical attacks on a physical enemy (if not, then you're attacking a mage most likely who already has laughable defense). It's kind of poor on magic wielders since the typical physical enemy has... 0 magic. Luna helps no matter who the enemy is, and it's the best thing to use against tanks.
  10. Really glad I used benny on my lunatic cq run, because he was facetanking every single shuriken in ch17. Had 1 hp for most of the chapter, but nontheless slowly pushed forward as the only frontline I had. I can imagine this map being ultra lame if I had to actually pay attention to all those grisly wounds + poison touch ninjas bum rushing you. Ch20 though... jesus I suck at the wind mechanics. Didn't even bother getting the dragonstone chest. I just wanted it to be over.
  11. I think it'll be pretty cool if the children could at least wield these weapons if their father dies in combat. I mean cmon, if xander dies, is seigfred just gonna collect dust now? Might as well make good use of a legendary weapon imo.
  12. Spoilers below. As soon as elise died in I stopped playing br. I was so mad. This route could've easily been the happiest route but NOOOO, gotta throw them cinnamon rolls right into siegfred. Then I started revelation, and found out scarlet randomly dies, not that I really care of course but I thought I'd mention this since she dies in the beginning of the chapter, and if you pull out and do side missions, shes just magically back alive.
  13. Hinokas definitely up there. She has next to no relevance in any of the storylines. But takumi/sakura are somewhere up there too. These guys don't act all that much like royals, and they don't dress like royals either. Sakura looks like she's from some random clergy, and they said takumi is her brother so I figured "o so this must just be some crazy guy". Ryomas cool though.
  14. Curious why mozu is so high up in everyones list. I always end up overinvesting on her and she only turns out average at best.
  15. For the most part, I tried hard not to directly address op teams because in doing so, I would be basically trying to undo the meta. When I mention meta, I say this because it's going to just change and then the rules related to the old meta are then outdated. It'll require constant maintenance (hence why the arbitrary numbers in these rules is ending up a temporary bandaid). I tried to put my rules such that they try to attack roots of issues. For example, the reason why I suggested banning galeforce is precisely what you said (you were actually agreeing with me btw): there's too many permutations with this skill that makes it op. It's a low risk very high reward skill. Just because it exists doesn't mean you must be able to play with it (in pokemon, mega rayquazza exists, does this also mean we should use it?). And there isn't going to be a skill that's going to replace galeforce if it's banned. This mechanic is unique. I mean I get that replicate, nohrian trust, etc are also pretty strong, but 1/4 of the rules is related to galeforce in some way.. that alone should be a sign that we're trying way too hard to make this work. Josephine build is -strong-, but I don't see how this build warrants breaker limitations. There's quite a lot of ways to drop avoidance/add hit rate. Again though, I am new, so I might've just been facing dopes the whole time, but the josephine units I run into normally isn't what stands out. Could you explain how this build normally works? A small sidenote on boots: I really do like the ban on boots, but if we were using that pokemon analogy, messing up in pokemon rules means just throwing a TM and fixing a banned move, or at worst case you just spend another 1-2 hours breeding for a new one or even better you trade for a new pokemon. In fire emblem, banning boots when you already have a unit boosted means you must start the game all over (this is worst case, aka that unit was crucial to your team and only he/she could do whatever you were planning to do). This is at LEAST a 10+ hour investment. 10 hours if you're speeding very, very fast. It's a fundamental timesink cost, and the practicality of a rule like this being enforced in every pvper is only a dream.
