  1. Yup! Before I used to get upset whenever I wouldn't get that exact unit that I wanted, and considered quitting the game because I would never get the powerful/meta units that everyone else had. I chilled out, took a deep breath, and started looking on the positive side. Sure, I might not have Hector, Ike or Ryoma, but I've got a ton of great skill fodder that a lot of people would love to have. This is my first experience with a gacha game, so I wasn't necessarily prepared for the realities of it. Then I stopped caring what the game gave me. It rewarded me, since my luck improved drastically after that point. I had to remind myself that I play this game because I love FE Heroes and I enjoy playing it, not necessarily that I have to get everything all the time.
  2. Genealogy doesn't have the best unit balance in general, though. Fire magic not being great is hardly a symptom of a potential magic triangle not working, since Genealogy has a lot of unit balance problems in general. I mean, as we all know, if you don't have a horse in that game, you're automatically inferior to units with horses. Don't have Pursuit? Well, welcome to mediocrity! Don't have Pursuit (or Lex with a Brave Axe) and don't have Holy Blood? Yeah, you won't be able to compete. And axes in general were pretty garbo because of their awful accuracy. The magic types don't need to be the exact same, because they'll have different uses. Tweak the tome weights a bit, and you're good to go. Wind? Use it when you want to be extra accurate, despite the lower might, it's good against thunder mages and flying units. Fire? Balanced, not too much raw power, decent accuracy. Use it against wind mages, and it would be a lot more useful should you bring back beast units or something similar that's weak to it a la RD. Thunder, if you want to nuke, but be a little less accurate, and good against wind mages and dragons/wyvern riders (I liked the idea of that in RD, but mages were nerfed into the ground anyway and rendered it kind of a moot point). Light, use it against monsters and dark. Dark, use it against anima. Every single magic will have a role/niche, despite all of them not being equal in raw number strength.
  3. Just got an enemy team in the VG consisting of three Niles. The most they could do was 8 damage versus my L&D Alm. Well, I guess if you want to hand me a free win, game, I won't complain, but... Lol.
  4. Me, except replace "Gaius" with "Tharja," "Leo" with "Robin," and "Fates" with "Awakening" during the mage gauntlet.
  5. Hey, I always preferred female Robin to male Robin, but I'm apparently in the minority. People are crazy about M!Robin, while F!Robin gets pushed to the background. I dunno why, lol.
  6. Lol. The closest thing I got to him was a 5* Maria, all vanilla stuff besides the Pain staff. Though I do wish we coulda got original Mystery here so that I coulda got the Vulneary joke without having to ask someone about it...
  7. Someone else said this, but I think it's more of a case that male Robin is popular, and female Corrin is popular. Their opposite genders don't fare nearly as well in general.
  8. Basically this. Posthumous writing can be weird that way, because you have major players in the chronologically earlier work who up and vanish without a trace in the "sequel." She's not the only one with this problem, ofc, but I find it weird that they didn't explain her away, especially when she's a main character and they went through the trouble of explaining Canas away via random freak accident death. Of course, there are other characters that need the same treatment (not random freak accident death, but at least an an explanation of their absence), as mentioned above. For a remake of Binding, I'm hoping either for confirmation that Lyn kicked the bucket somewhere along the line (hopefully not), or have her show up somewhere as an important NPC, hopefully involved with older Eliwood and Hector, possibly as Lilina's mother or involved with the conflict in Sacae as Sue's mother (if the games are packaged together and Blazing ties into Binding through supports). Blazing Blade doing its best to build up this amazingly close power trio who would support each other through thick and thin kinda fell flat in places, since you know she pulls a vanishing act somewhere between the end of Blazing and Binding.
  9. I actually really like the Sacaens from Elibe, since Mongolian/nomadic horseman cultures aren't done or seen very often in fiction or fantasy. Maybe we could get something like that again, but with a little more exploration of the culture this time. A plot based more around tribes rather than established kingdoms might be interesting.
  10. Stats aren't really something you can "disagree" with though. I mean, I didn't say "I think purple is the best color." I'm stating stuff that is evident with a simple search of the internet and/or asking people knowledgeable about the FE J!Fandom like I have.. A quick search of the internet could answer that question for you. You have to be deliberately trying to avoid it not to realize that Elibe is more popular... But I'm not gonna derail this thread talking about this. If you want to keep that point of view, you're free to do so.
  11. Are you...not getting my point or just ignoring it? I'm not saying that the Tellius games aren't liked by anyone. I'm saying, in comparison to the other FE worlds, Tellius is unpopular and more niche. Just look up some statistics. Tellius got many, many less votes than Archanea, Fates, Awakening and Elibe in the Heroes polls, simply because a good portion of the fanbase has never played the games or has no interest in them. I'm not denying Tellius is more popular in the west than it is in Japan, and that Archanea is far more popular in Japan than it is here, but compared to Elibe and other FE world numbers as a whole, it can't really compete. I'm not sure if it's more popular than Magvel, because their fanbase is a somewhat niche as well. Tellius more popular than Elibe here? I... I'm sorry, I'm gonna have to stop you right there. That's just blatantly not true. Trust me, I love Tellius with a passion, but I'm not willfully blind. There are not only plenty of people on this forum who've never touched a Tellius game, but go to any community where FE fans congregate, and you'll get more "Tellius? Uh, well I know about Ike from Smash and Heroes...." than you'll get people who don't know/haven't heard of Elibe.
  12. Eh, not really. And this is coming from someone who's a huge Tellius fan, as you know. We're very niche in comparison to fans of Elibe, Fates and Awakening (we're kinda in the same boat as Magvel fans). I know tons of FE fans who have never touched Tellius and know nothing about the characters except for Ike and maybe Soren. Maybe. We're not a huge fanbase, not in comparison to Elibe, Ylisse and Fates stuff. I mean, even Archanea is far, far more popular in Japan than Tellius is.
  13. Tellius is unpopular in Japan, especially in comparison to Awakening/Fates. And it's not all that popular here. A ton of people didn't even play the Tellius games at all. I doubt she'd get anywhere close to the numbers of the Awakening/Fates characters.
  14. Well Titania, Abel and Cain are will get roflstomped immediately. Mathilda probably too. I'd honestly rather keep the gauntlets like this, so they'll at least be close and interesting.
  15. I'm with you on this one. Characters like Charlotte and Hana I'm never able to use, because they die to a stiff breeze. Hana has a worse case than Charlotte, since Hana deals next to no damage and dies instantly when you send her up against something. I don't know how people have the patience to train either of them, personally. Another one for me, now that I'm thinking about Fates: Hinata and Subaki in FE14 are fantastic units. They're amazing tanks in a game where physical defense is key, while dealing respectable to good damage in return. They're especially invaluable when playing Birthright as frontliners when the majority of your units are fragile. If I had a dollar for every time they're ranked as the worst...
  16. Yeah, my bad, I should have clarified, I meant axes in Genealogy. I've never played Thracia, so I can't comment on how good they are in that game.
  17. So, I just realized something kinda ironic. Eirika, the one character that has actually semi-canonically been a bride in the Awakening DLC didn't get a bride variation for that banner. Lol!
  18. Basically this. I find that when I go in with a shrug and "eh, I'll get what I get," I tend to get pleasantly surprised. It's like in Monster Hunter: it's the desire sensor. If the game knows that you really want that one particular unit, it'll withhold it and laugh at you getting frustrated. If you're relaxed about it, it can't lord anything over you, so it loosens up. That's how I got the majority of my strong units: Effie, Kagero, Eirika, Reinhardt, Takumi, Fae and the like.
  19. You must not have seen Boyd in both games. Guy's a fighter through and through and destroys. Nolan from RD isn't too shabby either. Not to mention an innocuous gentleman by the name of Haar. You might have heard of him. Jill's decent but tends to get strength-screwed a lot. Basically, Tellius axes are badass for the most part in pretty much any class. I also remember axes being pretty decent in Fates and Awakening. Most Elibe axes and Jugdral axes...ehhhh.
  20. Yup, that'll do it. Yeah, I'm not surprised people are throwing their fresh pulls in. They're a lot less common at higher levels just because of the time it takes to train them up. I'd put in a higher level unit if you want your chances at getting full focus teams to decrease a lot. I think I only got one or two double Tomato Leos yesterday playing with a lvl 40 unit.
  21. You shouldn't be getting lvl 1 allies unless your own units are just as low a level.
  22. It's not necessarily a bad thing, especially if the bonus unit in question is strong. Besides It's just that a ton of people have the bonus unit and sometimes the RNG screws you over. It did for me a couple times yesterday, but I wouldn't blame the people themselves.
  23. Lol! Yeah, yesterday I had a couple of instances where I had two Tomato Leos, but never three. Though I did get a free lose yesterday when I had my Karel, an Alm and an Ike versus Sharena, Linde and Reinhardt... Still, got in and Leo and Gaius are neck and neck. I think we can pull ahead for the victory though. Surprised Robin's getting stomped that hard by Corrin. I thought it would be a lot closer.
  24. Then that's a call for more diverse magical stats. After all, there really is no point for mages having high resistance if you're never meant to attack a mage with another mage. All that needs to happen, have mages with lower resistance stats, and you're good to go. The magic triangle will serve a function. Easy fix.
  25. Don't worry, I didn't have a lvl 40 unit till like two or three months after I started (and I started a little late, so I missed the first couple of banners). Was missing out on like every GHB because I just didn't have a team for them. That's why the runbacks are a gift from the heavens. =P Fae is underrated as hell imo; she wrecks Rein, hands down. Tanky and deals a lot of damage. :D Plus Draw Back saves lives. I say keep Rein. My own is only level 14 and 4*. XD
