  1. Nevermind. I did a bunch of testing and figured it out. It wasn't writing to the rom because of a forgotten #endif at the bottom of my Table Definitions.
  2. So I recently decided to switch how I'm creating my romhack to a Buildfile, and I'm at the point where I have tables done and installers for that, and maps too, but I'm not certain how to do an installer for events? I tried just having an event file that included the chapter events, but I saw no change in any property when I applied the buildfile. EA didn't reject the file either. Obviously when it comes to a Buildfile there's a lot of code to share, but I don't wanna overwhelm people so I'll just start with the base buildfile and then post on request.
  3. So I'm looking to make a Defend mission, and I can set up everything but the enemy AI. How do I get them to go to a specific spot on their own, and can I choose any spot or does it have to be something specific?
  4. Just throwing out an update that I am currently in progress with the third chapter, and when I am done with it(and polished up the last two chapters) I will be releasing a demo patch for those who are interested! Please note that, currently, the portraits and CG's are placeholders! I am not an artist, but I have commissioned some art to help replace that, though the more I work, the more I need so if anyone would like to talk to me about doing some portraits for me, that'd be fantastic!
  5. After testing this out, this method does work! William is set as my Leader and he stays the leader throughout the next chapter as well! There is an interesting side effect involving autocursor. It will set it at 0,0 at the start of the prologue since the leader isnt there, and then after that will actually start on an enemy. But, that aside, I think this is good enough for right now and I can find a way to polish this later. Thanks for the help!
  6. Hm, that could work. However, I have absolutely no idea how to make units disappear
  7. That's odd, because Michael isn't. He's taking the place of Sain. William is taking the place of Eliwood, but Lyn's not involved at all. I can put William on Lyn and see how that goes. Edit: Tried that, still shows Michael as leader.
  8. So I've started using Tiled as my map creator as it is supposedly a lot easier to do tile changes with it. I set up the map and the tile changes, but when i try to test it by going through a village, the village event itself works out fine but then this happens: Not only does the tile not change, but this weird movement thing happens, and if I try to move beyond the normal range the game crashes. I'm not sure what's causing this, but I think it comes down to the tile change not happening correctly? I'm not sure how to activate Tiled Tile Changes anyways. My event code: Edited: I figured it out. I hadn't selected the map event pointers in the chapter data module of nightmare. It was trying to load map events that it didnt know existed.
  9. So in the prologue of my romhack, I didn't have my main protagonist quite yet. He gets introduced at the start of chapter 1. So, in order to have a leader in the prologue, I set it to one of my characters, Michael. I wanted to set the leader back to the main protagonist, William, in chapter 1, but it just keep going to Michael. How do I change this properly, if at all?
  10. So, first impressions on the romhack. Keep in mind I've only played a few chapters so take it with a grain of salt. I like it. I don't know if it's my favorite romhack, but it definitely catches my eye. I enjoy the ability to play with classes that the base games often ignore, and the tactician is an interesting class. Those things are definitely what's gonna push me to keep playing. However, I do have some issues. Main one being that while the portraits and custom animations don't look bad, and I totally understand how difficult it can be to make them look good, they don't quite fit the general aesthetic of the rest of the game and they just feel... off because of that. It was something that really kept poking at my attention and made me a little uncomfortable while playing. Other than that, I think the characters could use a little bit of work to seem more like characters instead of just faces with stats. I personally have frustrations with Avatar characters in the Fire Emblem series because I feel like it takes up a huge space where a well defined character with a full character arc could be. This complaint could be fixed with further playing however, so definitely take that one with, like, 3 grains of salt. I'll reply again once I've completed(or possibly just stopped playing in general) the romhack, give my full thoughts on it.
  11. So I'm almost done with the prologue, but the biggest thing that I have to do is the new portraits. I can barely pixel art, and currently I can only really do the map animations and icons, and even then... probably doesn't look amazing. If anyone would be interested in working on some portraits, let me know, and we can work out something. I'm not expecting people to do this for free(though if you totally wanna do it for free I won't stop you lol) so message me about what you would like in exchange, and we can discuss ideas.
  12. This is my Romhack project! I'm still starting out, so I don't quite have enough for screenshots. I will have some in the next few days, however, so look out for those! Prologue Screenshots! This project will have: ~42 Classes, some entirely custom, most heavily tweaked versions of current classes. A large variety of new weapons, especially new magic An entirely new story unconnected to any FE Lore Custom animations for the Custom classes, and tweaked animations for some old classes and More! I will update regularly. For right now, I have a basic list of the custom classes which you read right here!: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1emNN3Uf-wvPT4Zb8J682f5hWQFKTPc4TGm2_9HUmRFQ/edit (Check back every so often, I will be updating this as well)
  13. Well, it's all in that kinda pre-pre-alpha phase lol but I have some basic backstory as well as tweaked and custom classes. Basic concept? Legendary weapons are introduced into several countries, but everyone who wields said weapons gets insanely bloodthirsty and ready to war against each other. There's a legendary sword, axe, lance, and bow, but the stuff for Magic is a bit different. Before the Legendary weapons are introduced, Magic doesn't exist at all. Instead, 3 different people for Elemental, Light, and Dark, undergo a ritual that imbues their soul with magic, allowing them to use incredibly powerful spells. People eventually discover what forces they are tapping into, and are able to harness lesser forms of those types of magic, which is how general Magi are created. Nothing super complex or original, but a little bit of a twist on the usual formula. I'm more focused on characters, moments, and levels right now.
  14. Hey, I'm Wisps! I've been huge into the FE scene for years and years (I Think I first seriously started getting into it somewhere around 2008) but now I'm actually diving headfirst into romhacking and other, more intense FE things, so I decided to make an account here!
