  1. A lot of FE Boat maps have awful mechanics..... but I could honestly care less. Tedious gameplay does not always bother me if the map's setting is still epic. So, boat maps: YAY!
  2. Hello all! I just had a very quick question about Berwick Saga: how many units does the game allow you to bring to the final map? Also, other than Reese and Ward, are any units mandatory? Thanks for any help!
  3. Your favorite FE is 4 so that automatically puts you at a solid 7/10 but you also use Nino, so +1.5. You seem funny and passionate about the series, plus just an easy to get along with person (+1.0). However, your profile picture makes me sad (-0.5). Score: 9/10
  4. Mine is, and will likely always be, my favorite image splice I've made for my friend group's D&D campaign. His name is Yeoman the Yeoman, and he fights with a yo-yo. His hair is really similar to mine in real life: very unkempt and way too long for my own good. He's most definitely the most work I've ever put into a D&D character; I am a huge backstory-buff so I love to write as much as possible to make my characters feel more real. He's very loosely based on many of my own qualities, but all of them are exaggerated to the extreme. For clarification, it is Dieck/Deke's head on Caellach's body, and I drew the extra messy hair in Google Paint.
  5. Hello! So I recently downloaded Tear Ring Saga out of curiosity and because I wanted to fill my time before Three Houses. I absolutely LOVE it to no end. I mean seriously the story and character development are both off the charts. I really want to thank Aethin for all the work he put into translating such an awesome game. However, I sadly found a glitch that is currently really causing an issue. Once the final boss is defeated (with that freaking amazing scene, you know what I am talking about), it howls out one of those typical boss dying messages. My game does not allow me to press any buttons and go past this message. It just sort of sits there, frozen. The game is still running, the map sprites still sway, but I cannot press anything to make the story finish. It's very upsetting since I really want to see how my playthrough turns out with all the characters and their futures. It sucks to have my story cut off right at the end. If anyone could give some advice or lead me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
  6. Shadow Dragon - Jagen and Gordin (I hate Jagen and Gordin just sucks) New Mystery - Rody (Luke is basically Sain while Rody is Kent, so I had to) Holy War - Noishe (just kinda felt like it) oh and Azel because he was too slow and this is Horse Emblem Thracia - Eyvel (she benched herself lol) and Marty (poor boy), I actually really love Tanya surprisingly Sealed Sword - Wolt (ew), Bors (ew), and Marcus (I refuse to use old men, they need to rest) Blazing Sword - Florina and Dorcas? Too long ago for me to remember but I'm pretty sure my 5-6 year old self didn't like them Sacred Stones - Franz (you already have Seth!) Path of Radiance - I was so close to dropping Soren, thank god I didn't, but I did lose Mia after a few seconds of contemplation Radiant Dawn - Everyone except Micaiah, Nolan, Illyana, and Sothe (NEED I EXPLAIN???) Awakening - Stahl (he wants a nap) and Kellam and Frederick (both extremely boring characters) Fates (I played Conquest, wasn't a fan so I just watched the others... But in Conquest) - Camila (I HATE THIS STUPID OVERRATED NONSENSICAL ONE DIMENSIONAL MONSTER THAT PEOPLE CALL A CHARACTER.... Ahem. Moving on.) Echoes - Python (he just wants to sleep guys, seriously), and Kamui (not as cool as Leon and Valbar) oh and Atlas (does he have an arc?)
  7. This is some seriously weird deja vu type stuff. I was told this today by an old friend I haven't seen in years. I did not take it as an insult whatsoever. It made me feel really great because I haven't even been trying to!
  8. Hmmm, I understand what you mean. That definitely holds true for awesome villains like Alvis/Arvis. He, for example, has an EXTREME effect on the main characters and has always been one of the best villains in the series. However, for certain villains in FE13-14, I just don't think that is enough to cover up all of their other flaws. I really liked Awakening and I thought some of its villains were well done (Gangrel, Aversa, Mustafa, etc.). However, Excellus, Walhart, Yen'fay, and Validar were all extremely underwhelming for me. And to be honest, other than Walhart, none of them seemed like a threat to me at any point. Now Gangrel was a threat! He caused the massive spoilery thing :D For Fates... I just... ugh.... Well. Anankos is by far the worst villain ever in the whole franchise... and he was the main villain!!! Iago was intimidating but boring. Garon was a bit too cartoony for me. Iago was probably the best of the villains in Fates, but I can't recall him really doing anything too serious. Then again, I found it very hard to take Fates seriously. It seemed like more of a Disney movie than a Fire Emblem game. I still appreciate it though for some things, just... not my cup of tea.
  9. Compared to villains in *cough cough* certain previous games *cough cough FE13-14* I think we should give all four of these guys as much praise as we can throw out. Fernand was excellent if a bit one-dimensional for half the game. Grieth was very typical but still executed quite well as a tyrannical maniac. Desaix and Slayde were both extremely entertaining when on screen and I absolutely loved both of them. ALSO, how has nobody mentioned the voice acting yet? All four of these characters were portrayed BRILLIANTLY by their voice counterparts. Seriously, well done Echoes. This game definitely showed that Fire Emblem might go back to the days of Radiant Dawn level or even Genealogy level story-telling/world-building.
  10. One other really quick question, is there a way to turn off the blackish outline around every map? I've fixed everything else to my liking aesthetically, but that line still kind of eggs me. I appreciate the help!
  11. Why are there no combat animations on the enemy turn? I have found no option to turn them on and it's rather upsetting because I love the work on these great battle animations. I just want to see them, but I only can on my own phase.
  12. My favorite Fire Emblem weapon is probably either the Book of Naga (FE4), the tome Ereshkigal (FE7), the legendary tome Apocalypse (FE6), or the Blade of Bragi (FE5). Those ones are just the most aesthetically pleasing to me either in combat animation or design. Also, the map where you obtain the Blade of Bragi will forever be one of my all time favorite FE maps.
  13. Hector and Eliwood are almost equal in my eyes, but I still chose Hector because bias. On the Reeds, I think I prefer Linus. Lloyd is excellently written for a Fire Emblem villain. His whole atmosphere is just brilliant and so unique to the typical FE baddie. The only reason I chose Linus was simply because of how dynamic he is. Both brothers obviously are upset when they learn of the other's death, but Linus's reaction to Lloyd always really hit me. He acts like such a tough guy all the time, but you also know that he has a good heart. His reaction to Lloyd's death is just sad really. He completely hides away the whole tough guy persona and completely breaks apart in anger. However, they really are both great. Some of the most memorable FE bosses of all time IMO.
  14. You should be fine no matter who you chose as long as they are leveled up enough, but here are all the units I used. Alm's Path: Alm, Gray, Tobin, Kliff, Faye, Luthier, Lukas, Zeke, Mathilda Celica's Path: Celica, Saber, Genny, Mae, Valbar, Jesse, Est, Sonya, Conrad
  15. It looks great for a starter! The more work you put into it the better it will look, so just take time. I often like to just stare at my image and think before I actually do anything. Keep it up man!
  16. Welcome E-G! Glad to see you are learning more about the franchise and getting involved with it and the community here. You should continue to play the games. ALL of them are great.
  17. I was so close to voting for Ninian because of her design, impact on the story, support convos (esp. with Eliwood), and utility in FE7. However, I ended up choosing Reyson because I'm a huge fan of the Herons, and his own story is very unique. He is also an outstanding unit obviously, and his design as a somehow simultaneously feminine and manly heron prince is great. Go Reyson!
  18. Excuse me boys. It's Dagdar. There is no contest.
  19. Here's another fellow graduate! Glad to see a fellow friend the same age as me who enjoys the FE franchise and community just as much as I do. Congrats pal!
  20. Hey guys! So I finally got my Thracia 776 patch working and I've been playing it for a while now and enjoying it quite a bit. I am currently on Chapter 7 (wow that Manster escape was fun but difficult!) I just wanted the opinion of some of the veterans of Thracia: how many units do you recommend I train throughout the game? In most FE's I usually end up with a team of 12-15, but I know this game has the whole fatigue factor to take in. So, would you recommend more units than that? I was thinking maybe more like 18-20? Thanks for any help you can offer!
  21. 'Ello everyone! So, a while back I made a post explaining that I had beaten every single Fire Emblem except for Fire Emblem Thracia 776 by now. I've really wanted to play this game, but I haven't been able to properly get it working. Lemme explain... So I use the following: - SNES9x version 1.54. - This base-game ROM: (snip) - This menu patch: https://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?/topic/80126-fe5-unified-thracia-prototype-menu-and-script-translation-through-ch-3/ - Not relevant, but I will be using an online script from SF as well... Okay... so here's my issue. The ROM works fine, I can run it perfectly after downloading it. When I apply the patch, I am informed that it was successfully patched. Then I go to run the patched ROM on SNES9x and it simply does not open. It gives me the yellow error message... something along the lines of "bad_checksum." If anyone can please help me on this matter I would greatly appreciate it. Please just allow for another crazed Fire Emblem fan to finally beat the series... It's all I want.
  22. So I tried using this on the SNES9x emulator and the game just freezes as soon as I enter the first chapter Player Phase, any ideas?
  23. Alright, thanks for the replies guys. I'll probably just take a breather for a good long while. I've got other games to play and the new Switch FE to look forward to. Thanks!
  24. Hello fellow FE mates! So, I just recently beat Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. Now the only remaining game in the series that I have yet to play is Thracia 776, but I am having some serious issues finding a working ROM for it. So far I've downloaded four ROMs and all of them have either only been one part of the game translated. All I want is to finally say I've beaten the whole series. Can anyone guide this poor boy to a translation that at least has translated story/dialogue, items, options/moves, and character names? Some translations even mess up on the intro. The very first screen of text introducing the game will have a sentence that starts with gibberish letters like "rn." Anyway, it'd be greatly appreciated. Seeyaround!
