  1. Hell no. She's outclassed HORRIBLY. She's locked in bows until promotion, which will take a while, she can't move in the desert chapter so she's going to be like level 2 when all of your other characters are level 16-17 when you can use her again. For a horsie, Oscar and Kieran have better growths, can use better weapons and come earlier. For a bow user, Rolf has better growths, and comes earlier. Hell, it's probably easier baby Shinon then her. At least his level is on par with everyone and his growths are double hers. Astrid really is among the worst 5 units in the game. Paragon is cool and all, but she just comes WAY too late for a level one. I don't understand why Astrid is thought of as a god on a horse on these forums. She really isn't.
  2. Still a bad argument. Rolf can one round moreso (even though it is rare) then Lucia, even though her level will probably be higher then his. I'm not saying Rolf is a good unit by any means. He's incredibly mediocre, but a lot of characters are without a doubt worse.
  3. Rolf can one round the berserker reinforcment provide you raise him. She also starts with 15 strength so it's probably going to take more then one round to kill him. On topic, I'd sell...a lot of units. Too many to list.
  4. I ignore her and just use Innes.
  5. It's incredibly close. They're both amoung the best units in the game.
  6. Have you ever sent one of you weak (or weakened) units into a mass group of enemies so your lords and stronger units can escape? It's kind of cruel, but it can be so helpful in hard mode. I had to do it once in RD 4-4 when a truckload of reinforcments appeared behind my units, and they all were incredibly hurt, like 10 health was left on all of them. I had Mia as a level 10 Swordmaster and Mist as level 1 cleric so I just had to send them back there while my other units ran away and healed. Both of them were killed. :\. Feel kind of like a jerk for doing it, but I was going to reset after going through those hellish 14 waves of reinforcments.
  7. The holy trinity of Fire Emblem.
  8. Swordmasters haven't been good past 5 (except Rutger, who was decent enough.) Not high enough strength, mono swords, lack of 1-2 range. They're praised to hell because they can critical a lot if you give them gamble+wrath+resolve+killing edge+support+bonds. Berserkers are fast, strong, use axes, have a a critical bonus, and can take a hit through their high HP. Arguably one of the best classes in FE history.
  9. Micaiah @ Rexaura Sothe @ Baselard Ike @ Ragnell Sanaki @ Cymbeline Kurthnaga Ena Reyson Oscar @ Brave Lance Boyd @ Urvan Rolf @ Double Bow Aran @ Wishblade Elinicia @ Amiti Nolan @ Tarvos Haar @ Brave Axe Pelleas @ Balberith Tibarn Naes
  10. Meh. Blossom can help, no doubt. Problem is she will be completely underleveled when she gets it and will NEED Paragon. BEXP can be used on a better unit. You have Oscar for lances. A horse can be a mixed blessing in this game. Nerfed movement indoors and being able to cross water/pitfalls/mud and probably other things might sometimes outweigh the +2 movement (isn't the entire endgame indoors, too? Meaning Astrid has normal move?)
  11. I think Owl Lagux should be more sage-like because sages are wise...just like owls are supposed to be wise.
  12. Ok. So Astrid has +1 speed. Awesome. She also has -10 HP, -3 strength, -4 skill, -5 def and -1 range. Rolf and Shinon can double essentialy everything else except Ashera and part 4-5 will o wisps...oh, and BTW Astrid gets a crappy 31 speed on average. Same as a Marshall. Rolf and Shinon are stronger, more defensive, and can attack WITHOUT BEING COUNTERED because of their awesome +1 range promotion. And you're completely wrong about Meg too. Her HP and resistance growth aren't everything special and will "cap-ram" at all. Her luck is the only good growth, and who cares about that? Her strength and defense are too low for a knight considering you get two better ones later on, ones who use better weapons, have better caps and actually cap things outside of luck and speed. Also, her luck cap is 30 and speed cap is 32. How much is she going to evade or double with with those caps, even if she does cap them? Meg is weak and can't take a hit well enough for a knight, and there is ALWAYS a better alternative to using her, especially since she comes so weak, underleveled, and at a point where the Dawn Brigade would have to sacrifice neccesary EXP to baby her. EXP that they really need for their good units so they can just stay alive.
  13. Astrid, Meg, Nephenee. Someone explain.
  14. Astrid won't be awesome the rest of the game. It will be annoying to get her close enough to combat for her to die, then you have to baby her all way up to 3rd tier so she isn't massively underleveled the rest of the game, and even then, her growths are mediocre, and you get two better bow users (Rolf and Shinon) with better growths, avalibility, base stats and stat caps. I really don't understand why everyone says Meg and Astrid are good endgame. They really aren't.
  15. Meg is crap. One of the worst in the game. She can't keep herself alive, comes at a level with all laguz, has crappy growths and the stats she does cap still are her lowest caps.
  16. Sothe doesn't suck. He's one of the most helpful units in the game. He's promoted from the start, and is a HUGE help for the DB, which are the hardest chapters in the game (it's insane how neccesary he is in HM chapters.) He can effectively wall and kill pretty much any enemy there. When part 3 roles around with all the laguz, buy the Beast Killer and Sothe should be able to one round all the tigers, and once he starts to double the cats, he should be able to one round them too. He's nearly invincible in part 1 and fairly durable throughout part 3. Once part 4 rolls around...yeah, he won't be hurting a lot, but I still think he's a high tier character because he is very helpful during the hardest parts of the game.
  17. Archers are kinda...meh. Marksmen, however, are one of the best classes of the game.
  18. In the prolouge of FE 7, if I seize the gate with anyone else but Lyn, the game freezes. Is there any way to get around this? I want to play as someone else then Lyn. Thanks
  19. Favorites Reavers- Best offensive class in the game. 40 str cap, 36 skill cap and 35 Speed cap FTW. Markman- Idk. Least favorite Trueblade- Overrated to hell. Weak, frail, mono swords, they rely on critical hits for damage and die too much on hard mode.
  20. Ike because of better defenses and ragnell.
  21. Rolf is better than Shinon. He has a ton of room to grow and comes at a point when an archer could help with all the ravens flying around, and archers are probably the easiest class to baby(can be counterattacked.) Shinon comes really late and babying him is a lot harder then Rolf because of his awful bases, even if his growths are better. Shinon basically needs to get several perfect level ups, or else he's going to be pretty lame. With Rolf...you have a lot of time to raise him and you can afford a few crappy level ups, which probably won't happen because his growths are rather good. Also, if this is a double post, then I'm sorry. Computer is acting weird.
  22. Great Knight is a pretty awesome class all around.
