  1. it sort of makes sense that this happened. after all, outside of rare, really obvious cases like effie, it's pretty difficult to rationalise most playable characters (of any fe game, not just fe14) as having one Really Iconic Associated Stat. it was probably much easier to just randomly assign statue stat boosts than to try and back all of them with reasoning another advantage would've been even distribution. going exclusively for character thematics is a surefire way to end up with a handful of really obvious stats (strength, luck, speed) getting a huge number of statues dedicated to them while other stats get little attention. after all, being resilient to magic isn't exactly something that's relevant when you're writing character fluff, so things would've inherently been very lopsided for res-boosting statues
  2. typos. they're just typos. typos and engrish are not the same thing. fe14 is far from the only localisation which has ever had typos. fe14 isn't even the only fire emblem localisation to have typos. it happens. just be grateful that it's not fucking lapsing into italian for half a sentence, because that is a thing that has happened before with fe incidentally, a game being easy to hack =/= a poorly programmed game, either. if anything, it just means that everything is organised in a pretty standard, boring way with no real surprises
  3. yes, actually, but at least they are doing more than just namewanking!
  4. i'm honestly having a hard time rationalising this as a "salt thread". i mean, the point is dumb stuff that people like or find amusing because of its dumbness while i haven't played the game, there's the deeprealms thing. sure, it makes no sense whatsoever, but how am i supposed to hold it against the game? the cutscene where they explain it is basically one long wink, as if intsys is saying "look, we get it. you want babies and you don't care whether the plot has anything to do with them. here, have babies. don't think too hard about them"
  5. padding out this list is hard so screw it, you're getting seven 7) ...geese gets points for looking like he just waltzed off the cover of a romance novel, i guess? 5) yukimura 6) canas 4) perceval 3) this picture of sigurd 2) pent 1) ssb4!marth holy shit
  6. i'd really rather that people didn't do that because it's kind of a pointless and idiotic endeavour and arguably a lot more trouble than it's worth, but dds will probably release his tools once the patch is out so it's not like i'll be able to do anything about it
  7. i'm the only translator (aside from a few passages where gringe or amielleon stepped in to help). everything was done in order, but since the entire thing was one colossal learning experience, i got progressively less shit at both interpreting japanese and at the whole writing thing, and my translation philosophy (pardon the wanky term) shifted a fair bit, so secondgen ended up much better than firstgen. at the very least, i cringe a lot less when i reread it
  8. oh, god no. still pretty dissastisfied with most of firstgen, prologue excepted. i'm still way behind on proofing because first my laptop died, then uni started. honestly we could probably put secondgen and the epilogue in as it stands and i'd be content, but it'd probably be for the best to give those a once-over
  9. take it up with 8-4, i don't care enough anymore
  10. it's functioning fine for me in both a clean jp rom and the latest patch. is it possible that you're applying the digits to the wrong code? this is what's working for me, to replace roy: 8202AB788750
  11. there's actually a lot to be said about this one, but i'll just say this: i absolutely adore "belhalla"
  12. here, have this from when i was testing the patch: i mean, it's not that big a deal. a little trial and error is all it takes to confirm who's who, but w/e
  13. oh, this is going to be good. sterling's had so much practice stomping these fuckers that this promises to be spectacular
  14. here, i think i'll donate an old skill idea i had about a year ago people seemed to like the idea at the time, at least (i call it "marathon", for what it's worth)
  15. i dunno, it kind of makes sense to me. i figure that at the very least, kibayashi served a useful role as a big name to slap on promo material. i don't know how big he actually is, but hey, his presence on the project was like the first thing intsys wanted us to know about the game. that has to count for something i was going to say more but then i realised i don't actually have much more i could say without actually seeing kibayashi's draft, so
  16. we are all completely blown away by this stunning revelation wow. profit-driven. really? like a for-profit corporation? huh
  17. perhaps "spoiler" isn't the right word, but i can see what they mean: it's sort of like fe10 jumping the gun with ranulf and the black knight revelation. as far as the conversation goes, admittedly i have exactly zero idea of at what point the main story confirms that mikoto married into the family later, but i can sort of see the problem. which is a shame, because this conversation isn't a half-bad angle on that revelation
  18. if you take sacae, you'll miss 20x because of shin's death. shin's death won't affect sidequest access in ilia (i'm not sure, but with shin gone you might be forced to take ilia anyway) and you'll get murgleis from yoder no matter what once you come out the other side
  19. i recall seeing the core download package, at least in japan, being around 3gb, but i could be wrong. this is the easiest one to confirm since the eshop tells you the file size before you confirm the purchase (remember, 1 block = 128kb). birthright, conquest and revelation were, respectively, around 97mb, 110mb and 75mb and should be comparable here. i can't quote you exact figures on the dlc, but given that the largest fe13 dlc size was in the 7mb ballpark, you shouldn't have too much to worry about with those however, i don't think this would quite translate to a 4gb sd card. remember that the 3ds system stores a good chunk of its own data on the sd card as well, so 4gb might be risking a bit of a squeeze. 8gb should be very safe, though
  20. if dual audio was doable, it would already be in the game. noa aren't idiots. they know dual audio is a thing people like, both in fe13 and in general. its absence from fe14 is almost guaranteed to be a matter of technical or licensing necessity. if it didn't happen at launch, it's not happening, period
