  1. In terms of anime, I'm pretty much just watching what's on Toonami - namely, Inuyasha, Samurai 7, Eureka 7, and Bleach. Beyond that, I'm also hooked on Brave Express Might Gaine. In terms of manga, I'm reading Bokurano, and I plan on starting Familiar of Zero and Devilman in the near-future.

  3. Silly me, I keep forgetting that personal experience isn't worth crap here and that my game breaker Amelias are the exception instead of the rule. I still believe that the dodging more than balances it out, though. "thus her vastly superior dodging ability - even accounting for her lower HP and DEF - make her a better tank overall." Better?

  5. GOD DAMN SON OF A BITCH, that's two in a row who've picked units I was going to! Tch.... Registered. Grr..... gimme a minute.. I guess I'll pick Wolt to help me through the earlygame. There're only a few other units I particularly have my eye on, and even I have to question if one of them's worth it when I'm going to have to wait until Sage Lilina before I get a healer....
  6. I know that. What I meant was that since Paladins are the top class in LTC and Amelia isn't time efficient for being made a Paladin, she's effectively a lost cause altogether in LTC. The part about going General assumes casual play, or some other playstyle that isn't primarily dominated by high MOV. Although come to think of it, the same still more or less holds true as a Great Knight in comparison to Gilliam and she can be made one from a Cavalier, although she THEN has competition from the mounties....
  7. Unless you're doing LTC, I'd say go Hero with Gerik. As for Cormag and Franze... my personal preferences are Wyvern Knight for Pierce and Great Knight for the added power and DEF, but either works well. In any case, I'd recommend waiting for as long as possible before promoting anyone unless it's an emergency and quick promotion is the best way to proceed.

One thing, though - and a lot of LTC or even efficiency players don't take this into account (at least, not that I know of), and I understand why - is that Amelia as a Paladin will tend to be comparable with Seth, and getting Franze, Kyle, or even Forde to max Paladin will be more efficient than grinding Amelia is. Given the effort to results ratio, I'll concede that compared to the others, Amelia isn't really worth it as a Paladin. But if you instead make her a General, then she really shines as one awesome killing machine. For starters, her only competition in the General arena is Gilliam (for the main story, anyway) and while Gilliam will tend to have higher HP and DEF and sometimes STR, Amelia tends to have a lot more of everything else. Gilliam might be able to tank a few more hits, but Amelia will almost never get hit in the first place, and even if it isn't maxed out like Gilliam's as a General her DEF still tends to get pretty high. Thus, her vastly superior dodging ability - combined with her only slightly inferior HP and DEF - actually make her a much better tank than Gilliam. All that extra SPD also comes into play with offense - Gilliam might do a bit more damage per hit, but Amelia will reliably hit twice each battle, effectively doing more damage per turn overall. In summation: Paladin Amelia = good unit but not time-efficient compared to everyone else. General Amelia = nigh-immortal Goddess of Destruction.
  10. Well, I kinda planned on at least picking GaoGaiGar from the start, because I'm a massive fan of the show. It causes me actual, physical pain that I can't have both GaoGaiGar AND King J-Der, though. Beyond that, I'm kinda torn between Shin Getter, Gundams Wing Zero/Deathscythe Hell, and M9 Gernsback Sousuke and Mao in terms of priorities. The Gundam SEED stuff is all very low priority though, since I haven't seen that show.
  11. Now to determine if I'm going to pick my first units by fanboyism or by how early they show up.... Of course, the idea of just picking units I know I can recognize would also be a smart move....

  14. Registered as COMPLETE. MancerNecro and Ring don't seem to have finished their drafts, I don't believe... Granted, I should double-check anyway to make sure I didn't just forget to update them.
  15. Drafting: 1. This draft is for 5 players. 2. Roy, Merlinus, Lalam/Elphin, and Fa are free for all to use. 3. The game will be played on Normal Mode. 4. Should there be units left undrafted at the very end and drafting them normally would result in unbalanced numbers, then they're free. Rules: 1. Undrafted units may recruit characters, rescue undrafted units and NPCs, trade, visit Shops and Armories, and dig up items in the desert. 2. Undrafted units may not do anything not listed above, including but not limited to meatshielding, building Supports, and opening Doors or Chests. 3. Use of the Warp staff is banned. 4. All Gaiden chapters are required to be visited. Chapter 20x (either route) does not count towards the total turncount up to 20 turns taken. 5. NPCs may do as they please without penalty. 6. The game must be played out to the True Ending. Penalties: 1. Undrafted units have a 4 turn penalty, per unit per chapter. Exceptions: 1. Undrafted Thieves may be used to obtain necessary Promotion items and open doors and chests. 2. Cath and Wendy are also free to use, due to being left over at the end of the draft. After a few brave souls decided to do my FE7 and FE8 "Long Hike" drafts, I asked myself "why the hell not do one for FE6?" And so here we are. Yeah, I'll be participating too. Teams (DRAFTING ORDER): 5. Wind Crusader (Dieck, Saul, Gonzales, Barth, Igrene, Douglas) 2. Spiriter Sagi (Rutger, Ellen, Ray, Chad, Dorothy, Karel) 1. Epic Turtle (Fir, Oujay, Geese, Hugh, Bartre, Sophia) NOTE: Since I am going to bed sometime soon and will probably not be back on in the next twelve hours, the first four guys who say they want to sign up are the ones to get registered, but that's kinda SOP anyway.
