  1. Fire Emblem If Fan Translation version 4.3 (released 04/2023) Hey everyone! It's been five long years since our last update. We're still here, and we're more determined than ever to deliver a finished translation. From now on, all patch releases and files can be found on our GitHub. This makes it easier for us to host patches, push updates more quickly, and track issues in a more organized manner. Hello some of you might remember about my genealogy of the holy war and fates story swap post but yea this time its about what if sigurd and anankos were in each other's role like for example what if sigurd was the antagonist of fe4 instead of Julius and what if anankos was not the antagonist of fates like say what if Sigurd was influenced by tyrfring or something or corrupted by manfroy and anankos would a father who died while corrin was a baby and imagine seliph having to fight his father what story would you say about this ? So I've been playing Awakening recently and it's been reviving my interest in Fire Emblem again, so I started watching old Awakening and Fates videos that I used to enjoy (mostly from shadowofchaos and Ghast) and out of nowhere I noticed that a lot of people got into FE around this time (including me) and that certain games were controversial due to the new fans rustling a few FE veteran's jimmies and it's got me curious, which game on the 3DS is considered the most liked by the people on SF and why?

Hello people, I would like to talk about a topic that always leaves me thinking, the gameplay of Fates (especially conquest), Every time I heard about Fates before playing it, they always told me the same thing, "the conquest gameplay is the best in the entire saga", And well, after having replayed it a couple of times, I have always felt it was highly overrated since it has many things that I consider somewhat wasted and I wanted to comment on them. 1-Despite being one of the most difficult FEs, it gives you very few playable characters, let me explain, in other FEs they always give you characters when you advance in the game, like GBA or DS, but here they give you very few and most at the beginning, which which leaves very little variety in the mid-late game, leaving you with very few alternatives if something goes wrong or someone dies, which seems to me a very bad thing for one of the most difficult FE. I know that gen2 exists, but it's not the same, after the Xander chapter I feel that it feels too monotonous, since with so little variety of characters you feel that everything has to be perfect, since the maps demand a lot but give few resources, of course they give you enough to survive, but nothing more, the maps at that point become quite complex, which I think causes more problems. The problem is not that it is difficult, it is that for me it does not feel like a Fire Emblem game, for example FE12 is also difficult, but it is constantly giving you characters because the game knows that it is difficult, and also since some maps are somewhat complex , it gives you access to save points so you don't have to repeat those very tedious and specific parts, Conquest doesn't give you any of that and I really feel that it makes the game experience worse 2-The dragon veins seem to me an element that slows down the game and doesn't add anything other than just slowing you down more, like in the Sakura map that I find extremely boring, or the one about climbing the mountain, not to mention the one about the ninja cave and the final map, I feel that the game has very poorly designed maps that end up making the experience boring, and if you add to that the few characters it gives you, I think the result gets worse. 3-The second generation, this works as a replacement for the classic style of giving you characters every time you advance, but for me it has a lot of problems too, since it's something you have to plan from the beginning and probably requires many characters that you don't you want to use or they won't be of much help to you in the long run, what happens if that character with whom you had rank A dies? Well, you lose the son that you had been preparing for so long, the same thing if he did not give you very good level ups and it was no longer convenient for you to take him with you, it is something that requires a lot of preparation and is not very comfortable, and personally I prefer that they give me directly the characters to depend on something like support S. 4-The skill system is full of some that have percentages, which I think already screws up the RNG too much And having to constantly check the abilities of the enemies annoys me, at least in other FE they were fewer abilities and were not as important as in Tellius and Jugdral, if receiving crits and sometimes it bothers having many enemies that use those skills makes it worse, especially in lunatic, like in the Kaden chapter that to me Apparently it has horrible mechanics with the enemies, or the chapter against Hana, the one with Ryoma, the endgame, damn I really don't find anything good about this skill system since it makes me fatal. Maybe some maps are well designed like the port or the ship since they encourage you to make solid strategies, that's fine, but the problem is that this is FE, a game where the RNG matters a lot, where units can die , where the level ups affect a lot, there are other FE like Echoes or Holy war that follow a similar idea "give you a lot of units at the beginning but almost none in the late game" but minimal in those games like FE4, the Gen 2 is separated from the gen1, which makes it more like using the children in my opinion and also the saving system and abilities. Same case for Echoes with the sources to revive and Mila's wheel. I don't think it's a bad game, but I would say that AS A FIRE EMBLEM GAME, it's pretty bad, if this game were from, I don't know, Advance Wars or Triangle Strategy, maybe it would be better since they are not games where units die or that It affected the rng too much, but hey, I just wanted to give my opinion on why this FE for me has a very overrated gameplay in many aspects.   5. Note: There are plenty of games I haven't played. Feel free to add your takes on those. This post will cover Blazing Blade, Awakening and Fates. And borders don't apply the same way they do in the real world. For instance, An Indian based nation could border a French based nation. Blazing Blade Sacae-Mongolia. The clothing style and nomad lifestyle that the Sacaen's use is reminiscent of old Mongolia. Bern- Russia. Bern is a war torn kingdom on the eastern skirts of Elibe. With it's cold temperatures to the north and the look of Bern characters, Russia is my pick. Pherae - Spain. Not super confident about this one but going loosely based on the general European atmosphere, climate and character names Spain is my choice. Ostia- France. Same reasoning as Pherae. Nabata - Holy land in a desert? Imma say Israel Awakening Halidom of Ylisse- Roman Empire. Ylisse seems to take some design from Latin based culture. Simple enough. Regna Ferox - Ancient Greece. While Khan is certainly a Mongolian term, the way Regna Ferox is split, the way it's set up led me to think that it's probably more like Sparta. Valmese Empire - This ones a mess. Chon'sin is clearly based off of Japan. Virion speaks with a Frence accent, and Cherche and Cervantes are French names. It's like a split between the French area and Japan. Plegia - Ancient Egypt. The Plegian architecture, clothes and landscape have strong ties to Ancient Egypt. The markings and sorcerer outfits especially. Fates Hoshido- Feudal Japan. Nohr - Germany with splashes of the UK and Scandinavia. While it also takes some pretty heavy Norse influences (Mijolnir, BiFrost, Bolverk, Brynhildr) I choose Germany as the ultimate winner partially due to Askr's existence. Askr is just a pile of Norwegian overload. While there can certainly be two nations based on the same country, Nohr has so much European influence that Germany ultimately stands out. The architecture is far closer to Germany than Norway. Castle Krakenburg and the village areas all could pass for Germany easily. Krakenburg is a German style name, though it is made up. Elise is named after the German song "Fur Elise," and Xander's sword "Siegfried," is named after a prince from a German myth. The Nohrian music doesn't sound German. The music seems more based on the UK. Dusk Falls practically shout UK and Dark Wastes has some solid hints of it. Crykensia- Turkey. The small city between Nohr and Hoshido is home to many dancers and a lively culture. We barely see Crykensia but its theme, architecture and notable features as a nation resmble Turkey. Valla- Sumerian Empire. Sumeria was an Ancient Empire based in Modern day Iraq. They were a highly advanced civilization that fell in around 1700 B.C. . Castle Gyges looks like the Ziggurats made by the Sumerians. The interior isn't as clear a comparison but it fits. Seems like a good fit. Hopefully this was laid out well enough and was an interesting read. I've always enjoyed looking at cultures in fiction and hope that others find this intriguing as well.
  6. Warning: Before I say anything, you're probably going to have a difficult time using this if you have no experience in python, even though you don't need to code yourself. This is because this tool requires python, which you can simply download, but also requires Pandas. I use Pycharm and let it manage all my packages, but setting pycharm up or managing the packages yourself can be troublesome if you've never used it before. That's why it really helps if you already have a working Python environment with Pandas. You can ask questions, and I'll try to help, but I can't guarentee success. link This is a tool which I created mostly for myself, but I realised some other people may find enjoyment in it too. You can use it to either randomize the class (and character ranking) for Sacred Stones/Shadow Dragon/New Mystery/Awakening/Fates/Echoes/Three Houses or maximaze stat growths for kids in Genealogy/Awakening/Fates. How to do this I've explained in the readme.md, so just read it there and if it isn't clear, you can ask what I mean. If I were a better programmer (both in skill and in ethic) I would make my creation more user-friendly, by creating a gui or something, but I didn't, so now you have to install a couple of randomly strewn files from github. You need everything there except the readme (though you may want to read it), ui.py and main.py and just put it in a folder (probably an IDE project folder). From here you can follow the instructions in the readme. If you manage to make it work on you computer, I'd appreciate feedback if you encounter some mistakes. Some I know and I'm not planning to fix (You can use Gunter and Jakob both in Conquest and Revelations but they only have an A+ in Conquest), and one other I only just remembered during writing that it existed (the fates randomizer does not yet take into account child marriage), but there will probably be many I don't.

How this works is, If you want you send me your Own Character in a Comment following the Template here: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Name: Description(optional): Class/Reclass and Pomotion: Army: (Nohr,Valla,Unown,Hoshido) Birthday: Which Unit to Overwrite/ You will join in that Chapter and get this units Bases (Taken Characters will be named in the Comment Section) Growths/300 Points per Character to divide in these Substats: HP: STR: MAG: SKILL: SPD: LCK: DEF: RES: Personal Skill: (can be an original/new idea or an exisiting one, Every skill in the game is possible) Portrait: (which Character or Enemy Portrait) PERSONAL WEAPON: (be creative) ( also optional 😄 ) Hair Color. (just a color or a color code) Also optional: A Child Unit. If a Child unit is wanted then just use the same Template and post it after the Parent. Supports will be available between every playable unit. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I think thats about it. I will try editing all of your Ideas and will post the chapters and character if finished. I hope you can help me and my playtrough. Extra Information: New Classes are very difficult to create, I tried but there were always some errors, Difficulty will be Lunatic and if its too hard, Hard Child units are optional, Also Twins will be accepted too.

  9. So I'm wanting to do a Capture Units only Run in the game. I have the patched for the Capture Fates hacks working on my CIA and will be using the Citra Emulator for it. But I thought it would be cool if I could make the Royals personal weapons usable by some of the generics that I manage to capture But past apply some patches I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to hacking the 3ds FE game. So any and all help is much appreciated. I'm also looking to add skill and growths to some of the generics later on for the challenge if that's possible. With the idea that of you pay attention to the enemies you may find an enemy with Ryomas personal skill and growths. So I'm wanting to do a Capture Units only Run in the game.   10. This hack aims to rebalance the weapons of Fates while still maintaining the unique drawbacks to weapons presented in the game. Some notable changes include: * Silver weapons now have an effective speed buff and have the half Str/Mag debuff instead of the stacking Str/Mag/Skl-2 debuff. * Rebalanced forging bonuses * Addition of 1-2 range melee weapons * All vanilla armory weapons and weapons altered in the hack can be purchased infinitely at armory level 3 * Significant changes to many other weapons The full details can be found in the readme inside of the Google Drive folder. This hack is a work in progress, so not every weapon has been changed yet. The next update will consist of changes to the weapons gained from castle events that are not named after characters (like Raider Knife and Illusory Yumi). Download link: Super Armory v1
  11. So, I plan on making some written works here, and I decided to make his so you can understand who I have paired up with who. All of these stories will take place in the same universe... sort of. Basically, in this universe, there are: -2 separate Awakening timelines -2 separate Fates: Revelation timelines -1 Smash World that brings them together. This accommodates for each Corrin and Robin of each gender. Before we get to the pairings, a few notes in the spoiler below.   12. This is my first time doing an Ironman run! Difficulty: Normal Classic Avatar Name: Celestin Gender: Male Boon: + Resistance Bane: - Luck Talent: Sky Knight Here are some of the specifications: -I will not restart any map unless Celestin dies. Each time he dies, I will randomly select a character to permanently bench. -Buying skills and using any of the My Castle features are perfectly fine. -I am not starting at Branch of Fate, since I don’t want to lose valuable experience gathered. -All characters that will be used for combat will be immediately reclassed at the first opportunity. The female characters who will not be Falcon Knights will be Witches. The male characters who will not be Falcon Knights will be Ballisticians. -Characters who are not these three classes can be used to produce children, but can have minimal to no exposure to combat. -Given the nature of this Ironman, DLC can and will be used. However, deaths will not count in DLC maps that do not yield EXP. -Anna will be used, as well as any second-gen units I see fit. No captured units are allowed. Screenshots are coming soon!
  13. I'm replaying Conquest with Male Corrin because he's my favorite lord, but also would like to have Male Kana on the run, with the only way to do so being getting him from someone else's castle. But the thing is, all the M!Kanas I find are too strong and skilled (and thus, expensive, not to mention that to keep things balanced I would have to bench him most of the game), so I wanted to see if anybody here had in their MyCastle a weak enough M!Kana I could get. Also quick question, there's any difference between a normal unit and one got this way outside of the supports? Like, could I get them skills from other Kanas from other castles? And would he have access to his father's classes?

  15. I honestly completely forgot that I still had an account here so I decided to catch up on what's been happening. Literally last night as I was sleeping, the thought of 2016 came into my head and I know a few people had a few opinions on that year but for me it was a very solid year for me and my family and friends. I reminisced about the MLG memes, funny YouTubers, the NBA Finals and the roster of WWE Smackdown Live that year, then suddenly my mind came to Fire Emblem Fates on how it...actually brought a lot of joy into that year like it was the biggest highlight of that year to mid 2017 and I know a lot of people have some really negative opinions of that game but for me, it was a game I needed to play and don't get it twisted I played many Fire Emblem games before this starting from FE7 back in the early 2000s, but this game made me had the most fun I'd ever did during the time from the Castle creation, gameplay, characters and the online PVP (which I wish more FE games after did this). But I want to make my point of why this game actually has a special place in my heart and why I have such a emotional tangent for it Before it came out, I had a lot of issues in my life that was happening during this time. With that it made me sorta angsty and kinda edgy at times but not to a extent as someone crazy, this was also the time where I was a teenager in high school already so that mixed with puberty was a wild time. I've had a interest in video games for a long time and one of the games I played during that time was Super Smash Bros for 3Ds and Wii U, this was when Cloud was revealed in Smash and announced that a special broadcast was happening, after a reveal like that I didn't know who else would be in this game. I literally remember running back from school and head home and see what was going to go down and all I see is a opening cutscene of Ryoma saying "this way". That's when I knew it was going crazy, I was literally going hype mode when Corrin yelled "Join Smash!" because no one expected this at all, I see his moveset and how he works and it looked so different yet so fun from anyone else and I knew I needed him fast. As I check out and see everyone going as nuts as me, I also saw the Smash nerds getting so mad over him getting included in the game and that was the birth of the Corrin salt meme which is still by far the best Smash meme from that time. Now that I actually got to play him and knowing that he was in the game it gave me more reasons to get Fire Emblem Fates, I remember going to the store that day with my dad at launch and tried to get all 3 versions, I only got Conquest though and we were both dumb enough to realize that the cashier suggested a pack to get all 3 paths so we both knew we played ourselves, yet Conquest alone still made me happy for the time being before I got Birthrght as well. One of the things that I really liked was the setting of the game, compared to the other FE games, this one felt so different and it made sure it looked like a different dimension from the other games, whether it be Hoshido or Nohr or even your damn treehouse in the My Castle it looked so beautiful, and on the topic of My Castle, they aced it with the creativity and how open and how much freedom you can have with that game from how you can make it look to visiting other people online, throughout the entire lifespan of that game, I spent a lot trying to visit every castle I could with that. The gameplay while has Binding Blade levels of RNG it was a massive improvement from Awakening, now you don't even need to worry about weird broken stuff anymore because now you can handle stuff on your own and Pair Up didn't feel like two crackheads killing someone, it balanced the reward and the punish for using that tool and it was great. And lastly I want to talk about the characters, now I know there's that one redditor who will say "uH aLL cHaRaCtErs iN fAtEs iZ bAd" but I feel like always looking at the negatives will just ruin your fun, characters like Nina, Takumi, Saizo, Felica (she's a sweetheart), Camilla, Rhajat, Reina and so much more just made the game so fun and interesting to find out more about. When people say Fates cast is forgettable than Awakening I usually tell them give the cast a shot and pay attention to what they do and look at their supports, with such a big cast like that it also gave us some great memes from that entire time so no other fan felt left out and they were actually funny, I actually made a few memes and shitposts during that time too before my channel got bigger. One character specifically I want to talk about is Corrin because a lot of people really give him the cold shoulder for being "bland" or "boring" when it really isn't the case, he's one of the guys that really stand out in the game with such a creative background from being sheltered for most of his life and learning how to be a leader in war is really great, most people who don't like positive characters are usually miserable themselves, I think the kindness is something that was needed for a character like him, take it like this, if he always acted edgy despite not knowing anything about his previous life but also having people that care for you in the process, it would be kinda strange. But knowing all this is what makes Corrin the true underdog in my opinion, he was always the maker of salt lords back in smash 4 and he will always be the maker of salt lords for the FE community and he's still one of the most popular Fates characters in the poll for a reason. Even when people gave the character crap and told me that he was horrible, I played all 3 paths and couldn't find a single reason why he was bad and 5 years later as I replayed it I still don't. The last big thing of why Fates brought me a lot of joy is the people who also liked the game as well, during this time Discord was introduced and before it became where weirdos dmed their e girls every second, it was just a cool site with gamers who wanted to talk about video games. How I found out about it was through a Fates PVP tournament and was immediately welcomed by the coolest people there, from that moment I had even more fun than I was already having and each time I picked up my 3DS I began exploring the game with the most optimism, from doing crazy stupid PVP battles to making memes I had a blast with all the cool people who were passionate about the game like me, I even met a guy who's favorite character was Peri (who was considered the worst Fates character) and he didn't give a single damn if people clowned on him as well, and I did the same for the game in general because it came at a time where I needed joy the most and I was the happiest I've ever been n my life. And then...I met the elitists...and they had a lot to say about the game... It's no secret that the elitists really go ham on the newer titles and even the people who enjoyed them, I was no stranger to this and I played Fire Emblem way before this but yet they went for me when I was so positive about the game, somewhere along the line in 2017 a trailer for a remake of Gaiden was showcased and of course the elitists went their way to attack anyone who was neutral or wasn't interested, it was basically a moment for them and said "yeah we get good games! fuck fates and fuck the people who liked it". Even people who I thought were cool and played the game as long as me became snakes and harassed any person who enjoyed the game on sight, so bad that a lot of them left and went away from the internet like Discord, YouTube and even this site. Even as I was staying positive through the road, I also became very irritated of these people attacking others for no reason to a point during when I got Echoes and I felt soulless with that game...they attacked me more, at that point I was ready to just give up on it so when Heroes had the summer banner in 2017, I left completely from the community and wanted nothing to do with Fire Emblem ever again. I basically became anti-fire emblem at that point and was pissed off if i saw any fan of it, with a community like that I wanted no part in it. In June of 2019 we lost a very kind soul on the Earth, Desmond Amofah (aka Etika) committed suicide due to the pressure of facing lots of demons and what may have been years of pent up aggression, It was one of the most unexpected and sad times we had to deal with and no one could believe somehow as positive and happy as him would do something like this, the human brain really works in many ways. I was a fan of Etika all the way back when he was still doing Pokemon videos and dancing to random anime music so this gave me a lot of weird emotions and yet I never met the man...but it felt like I knew him all along, the reason I say this because I remember watching his most funny and best moments playing 3DS Fire Emblem. A year after that moment I decided to rewatch some Etika clips and stream during lockdown back in June and found his Fire Emblem videos on that and saw how passionate he was about a game as I was, at one point I remembered all the fun times playing Fates from all of 2016 to mid 2017 and recalled how happy I was having that whole experience...but then I remembered the awful times when the elitists came to ruin our fun and recalled all the nice and cool people I met were gone from the internet, I still talk to a few but almost all of them are gone and it makes me really sad and angry how people like these redditors and elitists cut ties from my time of fun. I see these geeks on YouTube and these other sites crying about Fates and saying how it ruined Fire Emblem and after a while it became WAY too much and I thought in my head "that's what made me lose interest in this series" and it clicked on me and i just thought these people are fucking losers, I had a moment of clarity where I don't need to play a game while associating with people who complain every single day because the same people who hated Fates, hated everything else, it was all negativity and I just thought that I love Fates and I'm proud of that and I don't want to end up like them and be negative every day, I wasn't going to take it from people who made me hate a series for 3 years. So in August I replayed Fates and all the happy thoughts from 2016 came back once again. Everyone has their favorite game that made them happy and didn't even notice the negative people, for me it was this game because as I said before it came during a time when I need happiness the most and I love how in spinoff games, they try to bring some characters from that game in there because it's smart and it's still the second best selling Fire Emblem game for a reason. I even found out that there's still dedicated Fates servers as well as PVP ones and the people are so cool and chill like it was back then. For those who are afraid to admit that they like Fates, don't be because I can say proudly that this game holds a special place in my heart always and it brought me so much joy
  16. Fire Emblem Fates: Upgraded, the way Fire Emblem Fates is meant to be played. About this hack: What this hack plans to do is change a lot of things in the game to balance it better, make the game harder, fix the story, and fix many inconsistencies with the localization, so you could call this Fire Emblem Fates Deluxe, or Fire Emblem Fates Definitive, I intend for it to have a feel like that, some of the changes are: Katanas give avoid and effective speed but have lower strength. Most Nohrian weapons are given more might and a little less accuracy. Bows were given more accuracy, and might. Silver weapons no longer debuff after use. Daggers have a new small edit. The Yato gives some stat bonuses. Weapons like the Kodachi can now follow up! But weapons like the Spear cannot. Most Birthright Boss’ weapon placements are changed. Some boss themes are moved around. Xander and Ryoma can now have a special theme for their final fight in Birthright and Conquest! (Information at the Questions and Answers section, and link is in the downloads section) Xander has been buffed at his final fight in Birthright, as well as a new gameplay change was added for it (Lunatic and Hard Mode only). All Birthright bosses have been buffed. The Siegfried and Raijinto have been differentiated more. The Fujin Yumi and Brynhildr give a very small bonus. Birthright, Revelation, and Hero Battle enemy stats are now decreased slightly on Hard mode and greatly on Normal mode. Many translation errors, like Setsuna’s personal skill, Nyx’s death quote, Hinata’s death quote, Oboro’s death quote etc. are fixed. Changes the unit creation screen Boon and Bane text to be like Awakenings. Changed the main lord’s death theme. (Information on how to change it back is at the Questions and Answers section, Question 6.) Most Vallites are buffed, on Lunatic and Hard mode. All Invasions are edited. Added Scaling to the Hero battles plus change 14! Lilith now has Dragon Ward as a personal skill! As a result of change 1 and 5 the Yatos changes are much more varied. Xander has a new description. Ryoma does too. So much more... It also plans to add in plenty of new supports as well as audio in supports, chapters, paralogues, and perhaps some characters, as well as use some of Team IFs translation text to change the games text to properly express the characters different feelings and make different supports clearer, this hack also plans to add recruitment methods for characters in the Birthright path (such as Sakura being able to recruit Hinoka), and mothers being able to recruit the children characters, this hack also plans to add a few custom DLCs, as well as add Hoshidan and Nohrian Festival of Bonds and a new Apotheosis called “True Apotheosis”… yes I know that’s a lot, maybe I should go ahead and call this Fire Emblem Fates Ultimate.   17. So as much as I love Fates and FE, i've noticed that more people are starting to hate on Fates less and less. Why do you all think that is the case? Personally for me, I went back to Fates being my favorite when I realized Three Houses gameplay wasnt as fun as I thought it was first time.
  18. The Fire Emblem Fates Randomizer has undergone a complete rewrite. The new randomizer, Ignis, offers more features and a more stable playthrough (less troubleshooting!). Additionally, the setup with Ignis is simpler - give it an extracted RomFS and somewhere to put the outputs and it will handle the rest. No digging through the RomFS or running files through FEAT. Randomizer features: Randomized classes, skills, and stats. This includes weapon rank adjustments so everyone's viable in their new classes. Randomized join order. Characters can swap places in the story with proper adjustments to dialogue, 3D cutscenes, etc. Randomized chest/village items. Experimental player randomization. Lots of misc. extras + fixes to help with randomized playthroughs.   19. hello! made an account just for this lmao i'm playing on an emulator and i'm trying to add multiple avatar units to one save file but i'm having trouble figuring it out. i've speedrun the game three times (not very good times pls don't ask what they are) just to add three barely-touched corrins to the logbook and i'm wondering if there's a faster way i wanna play through the game with my brothers with each of us using our own avatar units, i thought it would be fun but having to abuse ryoma and speedrun to the endgame is time consuming : (

  22. During a recent replay of Conquest I noticed a familiar line from King Garon in chapter 14 after corrin had quelled to rebellion in Cheve... Garon: When I heard that your group destroyed Cheve, I couldn't have been prouder. Rebellions are like seeds. One must salt the earth before they sprout. There is a moment with similar context in the end of part 2 of Radiant Dawn with this exchange of lines Both of these actions are morally grey, and both involve eradicating a group of people to establish order and control over each said kingdom, the main difference between these events is the light each game portrays the event in. Now I'm not here just to bash Corrin and fates story because those are two very dead horses but I wanted to discuss what ways this scene could of had a better impact. After reading the script of the event in both games the purpose of the Fates version is to establish how evil and merciless Garon is compared to Corrin, and how confused and disgusted he is with Garon's method of ruling. This is further assisted by the game beforehand showing Hans enjoying the job far to much and with the annoyingly transparent dialogue from Garon immediately after the quote. It went something along the lines of "I heard you enjoyed watching the light fade from their eyes" and how such an act was "very befitting of Nohr royalty" and all that junk. While in contrast Queen Elincia's event showed her making a grey decision, she was willing to make that choice despite the involvement of killing her countrymen because she was up to task of ruling and had already displayed the ability to make those hard decisions before, like when she sacrificed Lucia and didn't release Ludveck (of course the greil mercs save her anyway). Both of those events were good for her character because despite her being a good person who hates violence and abhors death she was able to make decisions that went against what she wants. Garon on the other hand doesn't have that luxury... Given what decisions he has already made and enforced in this game up to this point telling Corrin to kill his rebelling countrymen is no surprise at all, and even with that being a thing there is still a lot of ways this scene could of been better handled. I for one don't mind Corrin's bases as a character, my only complaint is that all opposing views are treated as either wrong or just plain evil, if this scene was handled as way to show Corrin a different point of view and show the flaws in his ideals, the game would of benefited immensely from it, giving corrin the option to accept of deny that decision while either seeing his own way thinking being to flawed to continue, or to accept the flaws in his ideals and keep striving for them regardless. The tldr of this is that Elincia made an interesting decision, one that contrasted with her character, while Garon under the same context made a forgettable one. One situation is morally grey, while the other is black and white. So my last question is how would scenes differ in Fates if it were handled in the grey area rather than black and white. What scenes would have a different impact?
  23. Since all the Fire Emblem games in the Nintendo 3DS systems are rated T for Teen by ERSB in North America. I know that in Japan that Awakening is rated B by CERO while Fates was bumped to C by CERO and Echoes: Shadows of Valentia went back to CERO B. I'm just kinda cerious if anyone exactly knows how the CERO rating system works and what did Fates received a CERO C instead of CERO B? I know that CERO C is rated 15 and up while CERO B is rated 12 and up in Japan while we don't exactly have a ERSB rating around 15 and up between T for Teen (13 and up) and M for Mature (17 and up) in North America. Since I kinda looked at some plot stuff and content showed in Fates that pretty much did not have in Awakening nor Echoes: Shadows of Valentia that might have gotten bumped to CERO C. Would these type of stuff appeared in Fates might have bumped to CERO C?: or was it something else that might have got Fates bumped to CERO C?

I have tirelessly searched through so many castles and all I just want is some offensive skills for my daughter in-game Soleil (decided to marry Laslow cause he best cute boi) but none of the castles that I have searched through have the offensive skills that I’m trying to comb through to get. My main priorities regarding getting Soleil skills are Aptitude and Lucky 7 cause I want her to be an absolute great lord spd demon since my MU is +Str. If anyone who still plays Fates nowadays has a castle that I can access without having to grind tirelessly to get the skills that are my main priorties, that would be heavily appreciated.
